This guy is such a class act. His voice is off the charts! His Opera performances, Rock performances, sense of humor, all of it, incredible! He (like Lou Gramm) set the bar so high. Both voices are characterized by that "extra gear" of intense high notes and such challenging tessitura. At 65, he can still pump it out.
Please, more Michael Bolton!! He's a gentleman with a Heavy Metal Soul and a unique Black Voice. I miss his Old Times singing Rock Songs but he can sing everything ♥... You're awesome Ken! 🏆
ikr! not many ppl know about his rock era or the fact he sings opera so well. he is truly versatile. I wish he wouldn't have been so boxed into pop, which was great but he can do so much more
Do it Ken! That one of the tweeter was extremely funny. For personal issues I was sad and you changed my mood before sleep. Thanks! Oh. And that version you reacted to was incredibly amazing. I knew bolton was awesome but I think that, expressively talking, he's better than ever. Pitch and tune sound dark bit perfectly fine too, at least for my ears. Keep rocking bro.
2yrs ago, MB put 3 voice lessons on UA-cam with his vocal coach he's had since the 80s. He had just returned from Italy, singing OPERA!! Talent with TRAINING = the success these guys have. I gotta get your level 1 classes/disks someday.
Ken...at 3:30 you and Bolton hit the tightest harmonies! The best part is, you just jumped in to sing along with the melody and Bolton goes into his upper register to be tasty. It was flawless, borderline magical. I love these reaction videos, you notice and hear so many subtle things.... which is how I always listen to music. It's nice to see someone else who notices the little things that make songs so soulful and awesome!
Others with very unique, distinctive voices are..Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Lou Gramm, Peter Cetera, Steve Perry and of course, Chris Stapleton..plus many others. Oh, just thought of a few more, Roy Orbison, Bobby Hatfield, James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart, & Johnny Maestro. Even though a lot of these were old enough to be my father, I still love the singers from years ago. I would know their voices anywhere! Sorry...just had to add a few 😊
As a 31 year old, I can proudly say that Michael is my favourite singer, who also does my favourite song of all time. He has one of the most distinctive voices I've ever heard. Within one note, you know it's Michael. I remember requesting some MB a while back. Thanks for covering him, Ken!
Liked the video, couldn't watch past 2:07, my husband passed away 3 years ago and this was one of our songs back in the 80s, most of our rock music I can listen to but sometimes songs like this hit and I just can't... tears flow😭💔
hello Ken and thanks for the little stories about recording and studios. Working in a studio is a lot of time spent on fixing problems than actually working. The laws of physics. Michael Bolton is a great voice WOW from my teen years... still going strong.
Man, do another Michael Bolton. Lol Personally, my favorite vocalist. Dude is severely underrated. There is a Live version of Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay from the year I was born, back in '88 at a Unity Benefit Concert. Damn!
Good reaction, always honest and good technical reaction - kudos to ya Ken. Bolt has a nice smooth tone, way too much talent 😎. Thanks , greetings From South Africa.
KEN , I LOVE THE WAY YOU SPEAK ABOUT MICHAEL BOLTON 🤗,YES HE SURE IS MY NR I 🏆FORSURE❤❤❤FROM HEAVY ROCK TO SOFT ROCK IS AMAZING AND OUTRAGEOUS 💕💕💕I LOVE MIC AND RESPECT HIM SO MUCH 💝💝💝💝YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL WAY OF TALKING GOID ABOUT OTHERS🤗MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU IN ABUNDANCE AMEN. I love Michael Bolton Ken thanks for doing him I've been wanting you to him he's a awesome singer to he has soul when he sings this is a great song he's a great singer live to I own his greatest hits on CD I love a lot of his songs I love said I loved you but I lied and can I touch you there the dude is phenomenal I love to hear him sing go the distance from Disney's Hercules but anyways I would go to see him live he always nails his high notes all the time like you said he's got perfect pitch great tones beautiful song Ken great video love it man 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍I'll check out your version of this ken love it
I love all the stories you have for us about your experiences with artists or tech engineers. It’s a side of the industry most of us will never experience. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I've heard Michael Bolton's songs when I was middle school student Korea😊 I forgot him for a while but I'll try to cover his songs soon cause of this lesson. Thank you for your great coach Ken🙏
Great react Ken. I seen Michael Bolton in his hey day back in 1992 at The Palace of Auburn Hills Oleda Adams opened up, was a phenomenal concert 🤘 He had a heavy minor hit with "Fools Game" back in the 80s. Thank you Ken
Michael has chops his range is ridiculous pure rock pure soul specially in his early years I agree some if not familiar need to check out his early stuff
I know this is an older reaction, but awesome job breaking this down. I've responded to your stuff before. I love story telling about the music business. Take care Ken.
If you are in South Africa...you are driving past a taxi loving their Michael Bolton and Celine Dion...I know he is a talented, one song is enough for me.
Man, gotta love Ken's stories lol, I swear you've got the most interesting music business related stories. Anyway, I digress, great reaction as always!!
Wow Ken you are a wealth of knowledge and experience my friend, you truly are amongst the last breed of genuine, real deal music professionals 👍💪 you've done it all 👍 Old school rocks!!
I totally agree with All of what you taught me today. Way back when, he wasn't really one of my favorites, but wow(now Your lingo of), What a "ping" he still has. Thank you so much, Mr. Tamplin 🤗🤭🤙 (BTW, love the hair. Former hairstylist here) ♡have a good one!♡
When I was 5 years old (1991) my sister and I attended a daycare center in Nashville. One day one of the older women working there introduced her friend to play his acoustic guitar and play us a few songs, he was in town recording some music she said. I found it a bit dull. When we got home my dad asked us what we did that day. We said "Someone came to play music. Some guy named Michael Bolton or something."
KT, love your little side stories! I can remember hearing "Michael Bolton" first and then running across some of his metal/hard rock stuff while searching MTV for your Christian Rock/Metal videos. I think he was going by "Michael Bolitin" at that time and he sounded great doing that style too. Great stuff KT! Keep up it. God bless and rock on bro.
Hi Ken and Bob! In 1969, The Rolling Stones began calling themselves the world's greatest rock n' roll band. Since forming in 1962, now fifty seven years later they have proved through their immense body of work and countless concerts that they are indeed the worlds greatest band and performers of all time. The Stones set the bar for everyone to follow. I have no idea why I never see requests for the Stones; however, I would very much appreciate it if you could do many more vocal coach reactions to The Stones, perhaps one every other day (alright maybe that's a bit much but once in a while would be pretty sweet). Every time someone requests Dimash, please show a video of Mick Jagger instead. Thanks Ken and Bob. Keep Rocking!
Ken, in no way am I a singer, but i enjoy your exuberance. Bless your soul, bro. May you be only halfway through your earthly journey and the angels sing as you pass through the gates.
Always full of knowledge Mr Tamplin , OUTSTANDING channel I look forward to your videos and too hear your story's about your music experience. Thank you again
Hello, Ken! I`m a subscriber. I love your talent, knowledge---and your stories! I`ve had Mixed Hearing Loss since the age of sixteen, which makes for some "unique" interpretations of lyrics on my part ( ;-) ), and also makes it problematic to listen to certain music and artist`s voices. I know that Michael Bolton is a talented and gifted artist; I`ve just had difficulty enjoying his singing---until now. What a difference a key makes! Thank you for sharing this performance!
Man this guy can really sing. What a GREAT rendition of this song. "Said I loved you but I lied" has always been one of my favorites. That was a great story Ken! Sometimes you just gotta believe a pro when they tell you something! Great Video Ken. Kevin O'Rourke
Might I suggest reacting to another version of this song by Austin Brown of Home Free, an a cappella band. They recorded the song separately from each other because of the pandemic. It would be interesting to hear your honest evaluation of who did it better.
When Michael Bolton made his first appearance on the Today Show he’d completed his debut song, Bryant Gumbel walked into the screen to shake his hand and said, “You know one day we’re going to have to look into your genealogical lineage!”
I always thought the song Georgia showed his vocal range the most. My favorite song and most of them are is Cant Get Close Enough. Dance with Me is a little different than his usual and awesome. Back on My Feet again is mentioned by most people
Hi, Ken! I'm just wondering if you've heard Austin Brown sing "When A Man Loves A Woman", yet? He's actually my next favorite ...after Michael Bolton. Hope you & your family have a great weekend 💙
I just watched this video. Omg! Ken! It must be so much fun to be your friend! You have amazing stories! And For God’s sakes! Why you didn’t go for Foreigner? Are you a hard man to get along with? Please share those kind of stories of your own too. Why we do not see you in an epic 80s bands? No disrespect to Kelly, I love his voice. But it just killing me the answer of “WHY”
Slightly going off the boil here (please delete if irrelevant and not in keeping with the artist in question) The passion coming through in Michaels voice reminds why I watch Lady Gaga’s performance of “Hair” live on the Paul O’grady show here in the UK. I watch it daily and I just lack the vocab to express how much I’m blown away by it. Not merely just a vocal showcase either. Love and peace❤️🎹🎤

Yup,he's a class act, Michael Bolton's good too)))
@@GGSOG Absolutely
Please, more Michael Bolton!! He's a gentleman with a Heavy Metal Soul and a unique Black Voice. I miss his Old Times singing Rock Songs but he can sing everything ♥... You're awesome Ken! 🏆
"Black Voice"?? He sounds white ...to me.
he means soulful lol@@jessiem276
ikr! not many ppl know about his rock era or the fact he sings opera so well. he is truly versatile. I wish he wouldn't have been so boxed into pop, which was great but he can do so much more
Steve Perry and Michael Bolton are my 2 favorite vocalists
really want to hear Michael Bolton sing Journey songs..
Yes, greatest vocalists of all time. Michael on top in my opinion, but Steve is right there.
Always loved Michael Bolton's one of a kind voice! Hoping you'll keep sharing your stories with us...love listening 💙
Just Love the stories of back in the day that you tell😍
Haha. I've got a million of 'em.
I ❤😍❤😍 Micheal Bolton. His opera album is my go to relax in the tub music.

I love Micheal Bolton! Great voice! Underrated!
Indeed!
I love him too... But selling 75million CD's and 2 Grammy Awards is hardly underrated...
I have always loved Bolton's singing. "Soul Provider" was one of the worn out cassettes I had as a teenager.
Otter 👍
Oh Michael Bolton long hair short hair his voice is like butter and I love hearing your stories you're so knowledgeable!
Love Michael, too! Thank you!
Bryan Adams and Michael Bolton, two great singers with marvelous, very characteristic, original and unique voices.
Others with very unique, distinctive voices are..Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Lou Gramm, Peter Cetera, Steve Perry and of course, Chris Stapleton..plus many others. @@jessiem276 I agree :)
Michael Bolton have a very unique voice and now I regret that I did not get to see him live in concert in my city, it was probably a unique chance
As a 31 year old, I can proudly say that Michael is my favourite singer, who also does my favourite song of all time. He has one of the most distinctive voices I've ever heard. Within one note, you know it's Michael. I remember requesting some MB a while back. Thanks for covering him, Ken!

In my opinion this is the best male vocalist there's ever been! He owns his voice and is so soulful! Incredible!

"Everybody's Crazy" is one seriously underrated rock / metal album Kerrang magazine used to call him Sir Michael Bolton in those days
Michael Bolton also wrote the music Forever with Paul Stanley from Kiss

The best version is the David Foster concert where Bolton does this one and Seal does Man's world. Go, now!
Awesome!

When I was 5 years old (1991) my sister and I attended a daycare center in Nashville.
