Well done Britt! This was a good choice of performance too. Michael has been a charter member of the PDC for decades! His voice is spectacular. Thanks Britt!
The original performed by Percy Sledge in 1966 remains one of my favorite songs to this day and you really should check it out too. Keep in mind, there was much less electronic enhancement in ‘66 compared to 1991 so the instrumental backing on Michael’s rendition is much more advanced, and Michael certainly did the original justice, but Percy’s voice……….WOW!!!
MBs version trumps the original by a country mile. Having seen MB sing this live countless times, including a duet with Sledge, his vocal and his arrangement makes Michael Bolton's cover THE definitive of the song. Indeed, Billboard voted it that way.
@@jamesduckworth6904 Agree to disagree Duck, after all, as with any piece of music, one’s preference is completely subjective as there is no objective method of determining which is better. Depends upon each listener’s ear and what is most pleasing to it. No right answer nor wrong answer.
also Bolton has written #1 hit singles impacting the careers of artists such as Laura Branigan (“How Am I Supposed to Live Without You”), KISS (“Forever”), Barbra Streisand (“We're Not Making Love Anymore”), Cher (“I Found Someone”) and Kenny G (“By the Time this Night is Over”).
Just an FYI - Kiss "Forever" was not a #1 song. It peaked at #8 ... ironically despite the commercial success Kiss never had a #1 song. They only had 2 songs that reached top 10. Beth was one spot higher peaking at 7.
Michael Bolton singing “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You”… sheesh. Michael did a live performance of this song with Kenny G (on sax)… talk about 90s! And oh that hair!
I originally was introduced to the song by a Black Gospel Singer: Percy Tyrone Sledge was an American R&B, soul and gospel singer. He is best known for the song "When a Man Loves a Woman", a No. 1 hit on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B singles charts in 1966. It was awarded a million-selling, Gold-certified disc from the RIAA.
LOVE MICHAEL BOLTON!!!! He honored the late great Percy Sledge. He did a duo with Mr. Sledge! "How Am I Supposed To Live Without ", When I'm Back on My Feet Again or any song by MB!!! Great reaction!
I kept laughing when you asked about him singing “like this” several times…that’s just him. He sings EVERY song that way. Can’t wait to see you do a reaction to something from when he had long hair. 😂
Love Michael voice! This is the way he sings. I saw one of his performances and he started from the back of the audience and came to the stage this just melted my heart. Great performer.❤
His original style of singing before was a metallic hardcore rock but he was not able to pull off charts for 3x during 70s even though he joined different groups for being the lead singer during that era. He changed his style of singing into Soul Ballad/ Rock Soul during mid 80s. By that time, he was able to pull of into top charts and some of his songs became no. 1 US and UK Billboard charts specially during late 80s to mid 90s. He was also a 2 time Grammy Award Winner with 4 Nominations. I hope you will react his song "Completely". It's a beautiful power soul ballad that will surely blow you away.
You should definitely watch and share more of Bolton. Especially from his younger years. Elvis level handsomeness and voice. My favorite singer who’s still alive.
Micheal Bolton not only sings, but he also wrote songs for other singers, like Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, etc. You should hear him sing the song he wrote, "How am I suppose to live without you". You'll cry.
Michael has that effect on us ladies! That come hither voice draws you in! He definitely belongs in the PDC. My favorite song by him is I Said I Loved You (But I lied).
He always sang like that. He used to have long curly blond hair and was a babe magnet. I saw him live in Memphis. At one point he was standing on a small stand in the middle of the crowd. A mass of females surrounded him at his feet. One that was closest to him had her hand on his lower leg. She was about 9 1/2 months pregnant, huge. She was staring at him in total rapture. I had to laugh, but I was afraid she was going to deliver right there.
I took my mother to see Michael at least 20 years ago - I’d never seen my mom behave the way she did during that show. It still makes me grin every time I think of it.
Britt - you may have seen Austin Brown from Home Free perform his amazing version of this song. It's fabulous! That might be why the song was familiar to you? Love your reactions! 💖
I've heard Percy Sledge do this in concert. I liked this version when it came out. But now my favorite version is Adam with Home Free. Still, Michael did a great job! I remember Brian Gumbel on the NBC Today Show asking him if there might be some brothers in ancestry tree. Guess in today's world you couldn't do that.
I'm still in favor of Percy Sledge's version. The man had so much soul and passion and that deeper voice i prefer. But all Michael's version is good too. But Percy is the man for me.
You should have a listen to The Lonely Island's song Jack Sparrow (feat. Michael Bolton). It's hilarious! And you didn't think it would be an older white man? He wasn't old when this came out in 1991! 😂
Enjoyed your reaction Britt! And Michael did a great cover of a classic Percy Sledge song. And as others have mentioned, you really should react to the original. If Michael is in the PDC, then Percy certainly should be.🤗 And other songs by Percy you'll love are Warm and Tender Love, Take Time to Know Her, and It Tears Me Up. You will not be disappointed!😊
Putri Ariani was on same show as Michael Bolton few weeks ago....she sang with Peabo Bryson...in the David Foster n friends show.. Putri Ariani was invited....pls vote for her in few hrs ....♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You’re so right, the ultimate love song!! Michael Bolton does it soooooo well!! But I’d recommend checking out the original by Percy Sledge..... wow! And a stunner is Home Free’s acappella version .......it’s freaking amazing!!! Love what you do Britt, you’re a sweet treasure!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He’s been around a long time writing for everyone else including commercial jingles. So glad he got out from others and shared his full abilities with us.
Please check out Michael Bolton and Patti Labelle, we’re not making love anymore. The vocals are sensational. Patti goes through the ceiling and into the sky with possibly the greatest high note I’ve ever heard from anyone. You will love it I guarantee 🙌🏻
Michael is definitely in the PDC!! He is still smooth as silk and sounds awesome!! He has really taken care of his voice over the years! You should've seen him when he had long curly hair back in the day. The girls/women were crazy for him. Lol. He still looks great!
This must be a special performance. It's awesome, as is his recorded version. The original by Percy Sledge is also unbelievably sexy! This is the main song on the soundtrack for the movie of the same name.( Meg Ryan/ Andy Garcia ) A must see!
This is a classic, originally it was done by Percy Sledge in 1966, if you have a chance give it a lesson you might enjoy it. You always provide good commentary.
"When a Man Loves a Woman" (1994) starring Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan is a romantic drama film that is a must watch for those interested in the world of alcoholic destruction and recovery because of the many truths that it shows. Need to watch someday if you haven't seen it.
Ok, I'm choosing this video to finally say something. I just found your channel a week or so ago and I'm having so much fun watching your videos. Michael Bolton is so good and he is an awesome guy. He knows how to have fun with his voice too. You should check out just about all of his songs however the funny one ... look up "Jack Sparrow" by thelonelyisland featuring Michael. He really knows how to laugh at himself. Also, if you liked this version .... check out Home Free's version. They do so well and really do Michael's song justice (along with a bunch of other songs). If you've already done any of these, I apologize. I haven't made it all the way through a lot of your videos. Enjoying it though so thank you for sharing your reactions. PS .... Edder Vedder and Chris Cornell are in the PDC. Check out Temple of the Dog "Hunger Strike" and you'll understand.
BTW, Bolton was major player in writing songs for other artists way before he decided to go out and try singing them himself, and he was an instant hit.
This was originally sang by Percy Sledge! I miss Quiet Storm! (Back in the day, I would wait all night for the song I wanted to come on so I could record it on my cassette tape recorder & give it to my boyfriend! That’s how we said “I Love You” in the 80’s! 😂
Michael Bolton made his mark with performances like this one, but once upon a time he tried to make it as a rock/metal singer. Want proof? Check out the video for the song "Fool's Game." God bless!!
Definitely keep going down the Michael Bolton Road. He sings every song this way! An unbelievable vocal talent.
Well done Britt! This was a good choice of performance too. Michael has been a charter member of the PDC for decades! His voice is spectacular. Thanks Britt!
Michael came on scene in 1983, and PDC was probably a couple decades old at that point, so Michael’s definitely a member, just not charter lol. 👍
Amen to that

Michael Bolton is a very underrated singer, Lots of emotion in his voice. He sings the same way in every song. Fast or slow he sings with heart.
One of the best male vocalist ever. He always sings like this.
"How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" is another you'll enjoy.
Michael Bolton singing “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You”… sheesh. Michael did a live performance of this song with Kenny G (on sax)… talk about 90s! And oh that hair!

"How Am I Supposed To Live Without ", When I'm Back on My Feet Again or any song by MB!!! Great reaction!
Mr. Bolton, President of the PDC 😁
Check him out in the early 90's with his hair. Another huge hit of his to listen to is Said I Loved You But I Lied.
Many a lady as swooned hearing him sing this song. I love his voice. Love the passion he puts into every song.
I kept laughing when you asked about him singing “like this” several times…that’s just him. He sings EVERY song that way. Can’t wait to see you do a reaction to something from when he had long hair. 😂
same lmao i was like thats how he sings, but like also, he was playing around and having fun. he sings like that with little effort.
I've seen him twice in concert. Absolutely phenomenal!!! You definitely need to check out his stuff
Michael Bolton has been in my PDC for years
Michael Bolton never gave less than 100%
You should react to "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" from him. Absolutely killer vocals!
Loving all your reactions. Greetings from Brazil.
Love Michael voice!
This is the way he sings.

Britt...react to "Said I loved you but I lied"
My fave MB song
I’m so glad you finally got to Michael Bolton!!!! I love the classic old school ballads. You don’t really hear them anymore.
Michael Bolton is the legend.
He is like this on EvErY song he “Sangs”.
You should definitely watch and share more of Bolton. Especially from his younger years. Elvis level handsomeness and voice. My favorite singer who’s still alive.
Ms. Britt this man sings like Percy Sledge as he gives his all, he makes you FEEL the hurt in his voice !!!!!
One of his own tracks that is very interesting is “soul provider”
Uh oh!! This is 🔥 girl!! No one can do it like him. 😊Def in the club. Lol
Micheal Bolton not only sings, but he also wrote songs for other singers, like Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, etc.
You should hear him sing the song he wrote, "How am I suppose to live without you".
You'll cry.
Watch his 80"s videos. My favorite "Said I Loved You, But I Lied" is a must see. A definite addition to your Panty Dropper Club of crooners!
It’s a cover Percy Sledge sang the original
The original doesn't come anywhere close. This is THE definitive
Michael has that effect on us ladies! That come hither voice draws you in! He definitely belongs in the PDC. My favorite song by him is I Said I Loved You (But I lied).

His voice is peculiar!! His voice is so similar to seal

And you didn't think it would be an older white man? He wasn't old when this came out in 1991! 😂
He had his first hit covering Otis Redding's "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay"; it was great. He had a mullet in that video.
I had no idea "quite yummy" was a technical term. Good to know :)
You done the Home Free cover of this and was blown away.
Britt you need to do his song "How Am I Suppose To Live Without You".Might be the best recording by a male vocalist
You have probably heard Percy Sledge sing it, you gotta listen to Percy!

If Michael is in the PDC, then Percy certainly should be.🤗 And other songs by Percy you'll love are Warm and Tender Love, Take Time to Know Her, and It Tears Me Up. You will not be disappointed!😊

Michael is definitely in the PDC!! He is still smooth as silk and sounds awesome!! He has really taken care of his voice over the years! You should've seen him when he had long curly hair back in the day. The girls/women were crazy for him. Lol. He still looks great!
If you want to hear words to action may I kindly suggest "At This Moment" by Billy Vera.
He did justice to the iconic Percy Sledge song!!!!!!! Check him & Patti LaBelle out!!!!!!
"Said I Loved You but I Lied"
I loved him when he was a rock singer!
Percy Sledge demands he sings like this!!! RiP
This must be a special performance. It's awesome, as is his recorded version. The original by Percy Sledge is also unbelievably sexy!
This is the main song on the soundtrack for the movie of the same name.( Meg Ryan/ Andy Garcia ) A must see!
Michael Grimm also has a version of WAMLAW that could get him inducted into the PDC club. He was an AGT winner.
Home Free does an outstanding version as well 😉
This is a classic, originally it was done by Percy Sledge in 1966, if you have a chance give it a lesson you might enjoy it. You always provide good commentary.
Joshua Ledet from American idol back in the day had the best rendition of this song.

I had such a crush on Michael Bolton when I was a teenager. I mean swoon worthy. You need to react to "Can I touch you there."
This song was Huge back in the day!
How am I suppose to live without you try it next
I would suggest his song “how am I supposed to live without you” as equally jaw dropping level of singing and emotions
Two must listens are How am I supposed to live without you and Said I loved you but I lied
Just One Love is awesomazing ❤
Definitely PDC! You should of checked him in his prime. Still good but in his prime, OMG!!! Lol not just PDC but PDC HALL OF FAME!!
Good move, yes he an now a member! Welcome Sir❤
