Nice truck be safe on the road. And you show the bunk where the heater controls are you are correct that is tied in to your start up system upfront turn the heat up it can start the truck back up. If you turn it back down to hot it will shut that truck off. Congratulations on the truck. Be safe out there. I’m also a trucker.
9:04 I have onboard cams installed on my cars and motorcycle and it has lead to a lot of cases of me learning from myself as well as catching whacky stuff I see around town while driving, mostly other bad drivers. I don't go anywhere without it now.
From the looks at it the truck has that smart air system on it, it has it own set of batteries so when those batteries drop low enough the auto start will turn the truck on to recharged them that's the reason for the auto start
Looks identical to my 2019. They are great trucks, and a pleasure to drive. A couple small things to warn you about. The handle on the fridge breaks very easily, so be gentle with it. Just last week I had mine replaced at a dealer. The light over the work table can be blown out with a static charge from your finger in the cold dry months. Make sure you touch something solid metal before turning on a light. Same goes for the small wall mounted bunk lights. When you climb out of a front seat and move to the rear of the truck, you have a nice charge built up. Finally, be careful with the arm rests. Push too hard on them and they will break. I managed to break one and got it replaced under warranty, but out of warranty they're almost $300 each. Good luck and drive safe out there.
The hill start assist button can be turned off for backing up, I can only speak for cascadia but I'd assume they're all similar, but with the cascadia the HSA will eventually overheat the clutch if your backing in a tight space that has a slight hill so the HSA will keep holding and then overheat, by habit I turn it off all the time now so I can roll back instead of the creep mode taking over while bscking and haul ass
Hi Donna & Dean!! Very nice guys!! Dean you like to make things in your wood shop maybe you can make something for the space at the foot of the bed!! Just an idea. Be nice to see you back on the road. Good night 🌙
Im running a 17 T680 and the max switch on HVAC is for when you hit fog or freezing rain, you hit that and it sends max air to windshield. I don't care for the wiper system on the T680 compared to a volvo. Hopefully your cabinets don't squeak as you drive down the road it nearly drives a person insane. It seemed to get better after time though.
So far so good on the cabinets... But it is new, so time will tell. I will definitely be fixing that, if it does. I am OCD about squeaks and rattles. Thanks for the tip on the Max setting 👍
auto start is a bunk heater/ac runs off of 4 batteries, when those batteries get low it auto starts to charge them back up. same exact set up as my pete 579 Epiq
Hi if you have your cruise on be careful because your truck will brake hard if it thinks there is something happen thats the one bad thing . Love your truck...
@@vitalyjohnson3514 I admire you. You don't let your shortcomings get in the way of your confidence. Wait until your on ice, going down hill and the collision avoidance system detects a brake light and locks the brakes up. It will cause you to slide down the hill real quick. I did that as I was checking the mirror to change lanes.
Very nice TK. Myself I like red lights help save your night vision. Frig I didn't like at all, but its more personal type complaint. I just thinking all times I sleep in day cab all night long many nights. Tk like that I thought I died went to Heaven back in 70's & 80's.
I like the reds also. The fridge is awful small compared to our volvo. We're hoping we can get what we need in there for 6 to 10 days. I don't think so though. Pretty sure we're going to have to stop mid way through and shop.
2016 is better. Why did they make it worse. My fridge has two dividers and I have two windows. I am changing lease companies. Thanks for the video. I didn't even notice the glove compartment. Does your seat swivel?
I appreciate the Tour of your really nice Kenworth T680; But I was wondering if it comes with A Drop Down Ladder to Get To The Top Bunk Area? That was the only thing that wasn't covered in your Tour from what I could tell. Great Video Though. Love It!!!!☺
2019 here just got it today, 12 miles on it. But no Jake's! And I'm not sure why they wanted 13 speeds? I like it, but I'm so use to 10.. so I have to forget all I learned
No. Every truck is numbered according to the year and when it is ordered. In our case, truck number is 2003. It is a 2020 model and the 3rd one ordered. We were the first ones in the fleet to get a 2020 model. 👍😁
I'm amazed that in this day and age people still don't know what the deal is with a "Max AC" switch. Well I'm gonna tell you. It just runs your AC in recirculate mode. As in when the Max AC is engaged, the system is recirculating the air inside the cab of the truck instead of pulling air from the outside. It's really quite simple people. So now you know. That being said... This is a pretty sweat ass rig. I've always been partial to Kenworth tractors.
Drive, Neutral, Reverse? Thats an automatic truck? Interesting. I think I need to drive automatic trucks. Drove manual 10 speeds for USX in 2013, yeah, I just never quite got a proper hang of the up and down shifting. I lasted all of 4 months, spent way to much time focusing on getting the shifting correct, that my attention was not outside the truck and paying attention to the trailer like I should have been. Never mind the few times I out right stalled the truck going up steep hills. Had a close call once when I went up a hill, pretty well stalled out, and just got the truck going again and to a section with 2 lanes, when a truck with a pair of double trailers flew by me goin hella fast.
Yep it's a 12 speed auto. Donna was the same way, she spent all her time concentrating on shifting rather than where she was going. It's much better with an auto for her.
Hi dean. really nice truck hope you guys are happy with it and you make a lot of money with it say hi to donna for me and all my hopes and preyers still go out to you guys

It will remain clean. We can't stand a filthy truck.
NICE!! I’m in a T660 which is due to be retired August. And I’m looking forward to a new T680. Enjoy the new wheels!!
Thank you.

I'm not 100% on that thing. My wish is that it didn't have it at all especially with us doing the majority of our driving in the mountains.

I always thought of the fifth wheel release switch as a middle launch switch lol
Awesome!!
With the auto start how often does it come on, and does it shut off on its own?
Cameras intervenes with your privacy . When off duty on your bed and eating , changing etc.
Where is the turning knob for on your left side of the stereo
hi like your truck tour

I absolutely love 13 speeds. I'll trade ya for our 12 speed auto anyday. 👍😉
Nice truck. How did u mount GPS RMN to the panel?
I removed all the mounting hardware from the GPS and used gorilla double stick tape to mount it to the dash.
Do you feel this truck is big enough for two people?
To clarify... that’s a fifth wheel slide lock to allow you to slide fifth wheel not uncouple from trailer.
No, it is to uncouple from the trailer, not slide the 5th wheel. We have a permanent mounted 5th wheel.
Grats on the new truck! Did you keep truck # 1741 like the Volvo? Should have your new KW made for American Truck Simulator.

Is there a lot of head room if sitting on bottom bed and the bed up top?

Max is for windshield defrost

w900 all the way

The system we use to make videos for UA-cam or the drive camera system?
Why can’t they figure a way to put a composte toilet in these trucks ?

I 've seen the 680s have a swivel passenger seat. Does yours?
Unfortunately no. That was the first thing I looked for. Lol
What is Hummmer doing with the Volvo??
I'm not sure if it is up for trade yet or if they will be reassigning it.
I thought hummer did better than that on their trucks. That one is stripped down compared to mine. I see their trucks all the time at Pepsi.
They are pretty stripped down. They do have some options, but not many. I'd love to see an upgraded seat, at least on the driver's side.
Wow not hating but your company didn't select a lot of options. Just rode in a buddies 2020 O/O spec 680 and doesn't even look like the same truck.
Yeah, companies don't go all out on options unfortunately. It'd be nice if they did.

Do they make manual transmission trucks anymore?
