Yass! this is so good! Perfect example that you don't need a fancy intricate light set up to create amazing results. The styling in the shoot is on point as well!
I like third look the most and appreciate you talk a bit about lighting theory. Just a bit explanation about distance and size of light is interesting and informative. Please keep doing video for beauty and fashion photoshoot.

During winter it's super hard to shoot outside so you kinda have to stick to studio shoots. Most affordable studios don't have that good of a lighting equipment. All I'm trying to say is... You are A LIFESAVER! Thank you Ian!!
Love this! I often try to reduce my setup to 1 or 2 lights to improve the 'flow' of a shoot- I find tweaking 3-5 lights slows things down and often the model looses focus during these 'technical' moments- tradeoff of spontaneity and energy for perfect lighting... Vogue editorial- 3-6 lights- but sometimes simple rules...
You are really talented not just in photography ,but also in a way of explaining infomation to other, really easy to consume. Hoping to see more content like this. Like 2 light set up, 3 light, out door shooting...
So good to see this! Just did my first studio shoot a week ago, only with one light. Everything worked out, but as it was my first try with studio gear, I wasnt sure if I was fucking things up and this video basically told me I didnt hahaha
