FINALLY time for some BAND MAID! You guys have been asking for a while and it’s about time we checked them out! What’s the next one we should hear? Let us know! 🤘🔥👍💛
Congratulations... You´ve found the best rockband on the planet right now! In my opinion... They are writing their own songs, improvise all the time on stage, they are workhorses (every year an new album) and they know how to rock (This performance was after 2 hours on stage!). If you watch another video i am in, nice that you both had such a blast! You should watch LIVE videos, but also Blooming MV or Thrill (their first song) are really good. You can watch everything, there is no bad Band-Maid song and there are 100 of them. Greetings from Germany, next time i give you a little bit more backgroundstory or infos if you want. Have a great weekend!
Hey guys, great reaction. I fell for this band last year and flew to LA to see them in September. They are awesome! One of the best bands on the planet. More please! (Also check out The Warning from Mexico...three young sisters who rock. These two bands are reviving my passion and hope for rock.)
@@fatherandsonreactions yes they had 5 shows last year. 2 in NY, 1 in Dallas and 2 shows in LA. Band-Maid did a show in LA and in SF in 2018. I saw them play in LA both years. They probably will be back late in 2021 if things get back to normal.
Band Maid is not metal but hard Rock. But man do the rock! Best rock band on the planet. They have the imagery and "gimmick" of kiss and the musicianship of RUSH. These ladies are seriously talented musicians, check out Blooming or Rinne for studio, and Puzzle, Play, or the mind melting Onset for live.....have fun! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
@@elisabethacronqvist7859 Yeah...can we just settle on 'Iron Ore' or something? Rock...Metal...it's all a sliding scale. And the Maids have got some variety because they've become good at crafting songs...and have a pigeon that won't be pigeon-holed...but that's another story :-))
You actually should prefer the live stuff from Band Maid when possible. Try Freedom for more druming glory ;-) Only MVs you should prefer are Dice mv, Rinne mv and Blooming mv other than that you can not go wrong with any of their songs. They are just awesome rock songs with different genre influences per song.
One of reviewers said that BandMaid are Award Winners of Joy and Fun while being on stage. And I couldnt agree more. These girl project true happiness doing their thing. I dont know any other band (well., maybe NightWish - same Happiness League) who are that excited by each players presence together on stage.
Check out live versions from the same concert of Freedom and Play. Check out the music videos for Dice, Rinne, and Blooming. There are dozens more. They have an alter ego band called Band Maiko and you should check out their version of Secret My Lips.
Speaking of concert venues, in the US or Europe, Band-Maid usually performed in small (a few hundreds) venues. We rock fans do need to support these ladies to larger theaters. In Japan Band-Maid could hold concerts in venues of about 2000 capacity. But these girls are making a breakthrough - Band-Maid were invited to hold a concert in the prestigious Nippon Budokan in February 2021. Budokan has a full capacity of 20000, rock band usually places the stage on one side so the capacity would be about 16000.
I'm a huge Band-Maid and Pat Benatar fan, and I see the link - it's more in the amazing stage presence than the voice itself, and the way to command the audience: thin ladies with huge presence (I saw Band-Maid live last year, came for Miku but I found it really hard to look at someone else than Saiki actually!).
From 2015 when asked about what type of band she had formed small pigeon replied "We are not a JPOP or idol band. Please judge us by our sound. Po!" Band-Maid is a hard rock band. Miku says so and the description on several sites claims the are "an impossibly hard rocking band". That they are. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.
MISA MISA MISA! at least you acknowledged the Bassist a lot of reactors are so used to the Bassist being in the background they don't have the appreciation of the talent in front of them, but she is more than "Good" she may not be the best ever but given time I think will be there or there abouts. Hope you do more Band-Maid so you can fully appreciate what each member brings to the Party ABSOLUTELY no weak link.
MISA!!!!! MISA!!!!!!! MISA!!!!!!! Badass Bass Assassin. Band-Maid is the best hard Rock band out there today. Some of their songs have some Metal elements. This Live video shows off the talent of these 5 ladies and how much fun they have on stage with each other.
I said the same thing. Pat Benatar came to mind. I love how they sprinkle english words into the chorus. These women are all outstanding with their perspective instruments and singing. Each one of them is my favorite instrumentalists. Most importantly they look like they are having a ball. Kename is the happiest drummer that I have ever seen. The whole band is smiling the whole time that they are performing. When is the last time that you saw a hard rock/ metal band smiling while performing. Their fun is infectious and addictive.
Finally! I requested them early in your channel, along with other Japanese bands, and I eventually gave up. But it's never too late. Yes, they have done 3 mini-tours in the U.S., 3-4 gigs each time. I saw them in LA at a small venue last year and it was the best concert I've been to in 40 years.
Band Maid are the best Hard rock band on the planet, no exceptions. The main reason why is because they have 30 songs this good, seriously not an exaggeration, the studio stuff is just as good tbh. I loved that someone else finally saw the Pat Bennatar in Seiki :D I've always got that vibe from her. Domination is actually my least favourite of the Valentines day set, Freedom is the best one followed by Play. I have a way i introduce my friends to Band-maid it goes like this Real existence > Non Fiction days > Don't you tell me > Dice > Blooming. It will be the best 30 minutes of music outside Wacken 2013.
Band-Maid have been in the USA three times .......last year they had a 5 night tour in 3 cities ....New York (2 nights - I loved both shows)... 1 night in Dalls....2 nights in LA.....all 5 shows were sold out......
Fun fact: in an informal poll of mostly non-Japanese band-Maid fans, all 5 ladies got roughly +-20% votes, with the singer - Saiki - coming in “last” with 17+%. There is almost equal love for all members.
While you can certainly enjoy their music without understanding the language, just so you know they songwriting (mostly written by Miku, the rhythm guitar and backup singer) is praised by native Japanese speakers as some of the best in the business ... not only in just the 'poetry' but also in the style of writing. According to native Japanese speakers there is a form of songwriting in Japan that if I understand correctly takes Japanese and, modifies it slightly to add some aspects of English .. not just throwing in English words here and there, but because Japanese is a language that mostly consists of short syllables all ending with a vowel sound, is made more interesting by adding some English consonant sounds in the right places, something that for the Japanese is both hard to write and hard to sing, but Miku the lyricist has no problem writing, and Siaki the lead vocalist has no problem singing!) The guitarist (Kanami,) bassist (MISA) and drummer (Akane) are all university-trained multi-instrumentalist. And their 'gimmick' comes from Miku, the founder of the group who used to work at a Japanese Maid-Cafe deciding she wanted to form a Rock group who played in maid costumes because she thought the contrast would make for an interesting show ... Miku's only training at the time was as an idol but she was not getting anywhere with that, so she just decided she wanted to form a band and from mu understanding contacted Kanami who was at the time doing covers of songs on youtube ... Kanami knew Akane, Akane knew MISA, and they formed the band ... Miku was the lead singer but realized that her voice was not really strong enough for a rock band so they did auditions for a lead singer and that's how they found Siaki ... the rest is history .. a great history. Once you get into the band you realize that this is a band, not one or two people with some backup musicians ... all these girls have their own unique onstage and off stage personalities that are fun and interesting .. even the Band itself has two personalities; every April 1st, pandemics notwithstanding, they release a special 'Band-Maiko' (Maiko being a traditional Ghesia in training) music video where they dress up as Maiko and add some traditional Japanese instruments sounds and sing in a Japanese dialect common to the city in Japan which is the traditional home of the Makio!
Wow thank you so much for taking the time to write this to us! We really appreciate this and we will definitely do more Band Maid! That’s so interesting that she used to work as a maid!! -S
Glad you got around to & liked Band Maid, feel good rock at it's best. When you did your reaction to The Pot and asked if there were any other bands that you should check out I suggested Band Maid and The Warning. That was October last year. If you like 1 Band Maid song you will love everything this band does. Super talented musicians.
Wow that’s awesome that you have been with us for that long that is truly a blessing knowing people have been with us since almost the beginning. We are so happy we finally got to them and we are so excited to hear more! -S
Yo I totally just subbed your YT channel from jump because I enjoyed your group reaction to Domination so much!! I am Jeff S(TrueKnowledge) co host of The MCU'S Bleeding Edge UA-cam Channel/ Podcast and I am also a massive Band Maid fan. Appreciate you gentleman!!

If anyone knows anything about playing bass, this is truly a band worth of listening. Probably the best bass lines in our era. And sure yes, all other things in this band is just spot on. This band does NOT a single bad song. Period.
People always say Band-Maid are better live, but a lot of that is because they often add little bits to their songs live. Their studio stuff is (usually) also very good, although there has been a complaint or two about compression about the odd song. There is a complaint about the video for this track, but that purely because it's too quiet for some reason. The video itself is great.
Great reaction. They're more of a Hard Rock band than Metal, but they mix so many genre's that it's hard to assign one to them. Looking forward to more reactions, check out "Freedom" for another song from this same concert.
1st impression: Oh wow! The outfits are awesome! Love when bands dress up, it almost makes the performance kind of like theatre! Also, first foreign band reaction on the channel without English? Nice! I'm glad you guys got around to one, because I've been saying since the first live reaction session you guys did that you guys shouldn't discount any music that doesn't have English vocals! There are some great stuff out there, yo! :D But yeah, I thought this was pretty great! Love the hyper aggressive music here, with a slight pop feel to it! Catchy, fun, they all go in hard with the guitar and drums. Love the energy overall with this one. Almost gave me a slight "Baby Metal" vibe. Baby Metal is another Japanese metal band (Metallica are supposedly big fans), that is pretty popular for reaction videos. I won't say exactly what their music is like, but I will say a song request from me would be "Give me Chocolate." Boris is another Japanese metal band, that I MIGHT recommend? I'll have to listen to more of their catalogue, to really say. Another popular Japanese metal band is "Dir En Grey", but I haven't listened to much of them. I know they're pretty extreme, though. I don't know every foreign band on the face of the Earth, but I do like dabbling in some every now and then. A couple of my favorite groups are foreign, that don't use much English. :P You should REALLY react to Rammstein. "Du Hast" live in Paris. They're a German industrial-metal band. I don't think that one is copyrighted? I see plenty of reactions of it, but if you want to pause to be safe, do so if you like. Rammstein live is something else. lol My prime request, Solstafir, is an Icelandic post-rock/metal band. Love their music, and I think you'd get into the emotion they emit through instruments alone. I recommend Solstafir - Fyara (live at A38). Beautiful performance. Other than that, don't be afraid of checking out bands you've never heard of! Lot of great stuff out there that is more underground in comparison to the popular groups! Also, That hurts my requests most of all, since most of the requests I make are with bands not as well-known! Haha! XD Have a great rest of the weekend!
Oh, and I saved an album from Band Maid to listen to in the future. Will be looking into them a bit more... Thanks for reacting to this! Got introduced to an awesome new band! Woot!
Glad you enjoyed! We’ve DEFINITELY also heard of baby metal and will definitely check them out! Same with Rammstein. Although we’ve heard and seen them get blocked a lot so a live performance would be perfect. “Du Hast” it is! Thanks Brian! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! -S
@@stevehall5128 Sure thing! I discovered them last month, listened to two albums, and I dig them quite a bit now. If you happen to check them out, hope you enjoy them, too. :)
Try: Blooming, The Dragon cries, Rinne, Choose me. There are many interviews out with them Miku the rythum guitarist, worked in a maid cafe in Japan, while she was in college. She came up with the maid outfit ideas, combined with rock music. Kanamicho, the lead guitarsist writes the music Miku writes the lyrics.
I told you that you guys would like them. Remember I'm suggesting stuff I think you'd like, not just songs I enjoy. Hopefully you'll trust me as a Band-Maid ambassador in the future. :) They are definitely a live band but their studio recordings are still good. They are constantly improving and changing their songs for concerts. For instance, the solo section in the middle of this song is a much longer and more involved section than it is on the album. These ladies are never satisfied with 'good enough'. Every song must be the best possible. This song is about their plans to dominate the world through their music. As their bassist MISA has said: "I want that when people think of the bass, they think of MISA". They all have that plan. Part of that is becoming big in the US, and outside of Japan in general, so they do tour in the US in ever-expanding locations. Since you mentioned it, this song does have an element of talking about how they know some might try to exploit them for their sex appeal, but for them it's all about the music. Future songs to try: Freedom (Live): This song is more of a pop-punk type of sound. But if you like the drums, they are really strong in this song. This song shows off a bit of how they like to play around with each other when they play as well. ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html Real Existence (Live): A song with more of a classic rock vibe to it. Very fast paced and the bass is insane in this one. Plus you guys seemed to like Saiki singing and performing, and this one focuses on her more. ua-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/v-deo.html Blooming (Music Video): This song was written as a homework assignment by Kanami, the lead guitar. She had everyone write portions of the song, and put them all together into a masterpiece of rock music. This song has intense driving drums and some amazing singing from Saiki and Miku. ua-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/v-deo.html Rinne (Music Video): The song where they go their hardest. This is a hard hitting song released as a reply to people saying that they were going soft in some of their previous songs. This is as metal as Band-Maid gets. ua-cam.com/video/CQ9dbEVgZcA/v-deo.html
OMG!! I hope you continue down this BAND-MAID rabbit hole. They are the greatest band on the planet right now. They played 3 cities in the US last year. Try “Don’t you tell me” live, they have a guitar vs bass battle. “Freedom “ has a drum solo.
Hey Robert , I am a fan from hearing that one song. I hope they have other goodies because we will absolutely react to them again. Hope all is well and thank you for being a part of our channel. It means a lot to us -F
Saiki is so amazing! I feel like lots of first time reactions (myself included). Notice the guitarist, bassist, or drummer first but it really varies and that’s because they are all awesome. But really appreciate the comparisons to benetar and Joan jett! They have so much great songs so pace yourself :)
You can't go wrong with band-maid. They describe themselves as a impossibly hard rocking maid band they have over 90 songs and a new album coming in January. You guys should check out another Japanese girl fronted band called brats try kimarigoto or doudatte yokatta to start
They are coming to the US in October - in your area they will be in Washington DC, NYC, Boston and New Jersey (big mall in East Rutherford - 4K seat hall). There are tickets for the NJ show and maybe VIP for others. Rock On guys! 🤘🏼🔥
@@fatherandsonreactions Ethan, that’s so awesome!!! I’m sure it’ll be an amazing show!! I still hope to get a ticket to the Chicago show (I live near Indianapolis) - wish me luck 🍀!! You guys are great. Rock On 🤘🏼
Great reaction. Thank you ! Next time, please try "LOVEBITES" They are also all Japanese female band. They are a power metal band and so talented. Basically they play power metal, but they play various songs. I recommend power metal song "When destines align" or symphonic metal song "swan song" I'm sure you like it.
Welcome aboard, Father & Son. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 90 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (nearly 100 songs with their latest album, “Conqueror”, and a new drop coming Jan. ‘21), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their later songs drive even more - Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with over 30 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s three of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: ua-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/v-deo.html, the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: ua-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/v-deo.html, and third, JOSER8845 in LA: ua-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/v-deo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.). Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 26 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Her charisma, performance and voice focus the experience. Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 28 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kurrupo! No, no, no… KURRUPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Naw-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 29 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 29 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Assassin" - Bass, 27 years old. A sullen, barefoot, dark spirit driving her 5-string bottom-end to hell and back, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. The Mysterious One literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Band-Maid is rather hard rock, not metal. But that is not important. If you want to know how good this band really is, check out "Real Existence" live 2018 on their channel. After that you will know what live rock is in perfection. You will love it and after that you are ready for the other songs☺
Band-Maid definitely has their own unique style. Listen to "Freedom" live for an awesome drum solo. They are all world-class musicians that are also very good friends. Keep listening. You won`t regret a second of your time. They are better live but have great studio recordings too. Listen to "Rinne" or "Blooming for MV`s. A Band-Maidiac.....
Wait a minute! Speaking of Japanese female metal bands, is it really that you haven't reacted to Lovebites yet? The best power metal band out there at the moment. I'm not sure which song would be the best to react but I'm sure someone will give you a recommendation. Those ladies will blow your mind.
OK, you have opened the floodgates. Why do you love this? Because they may be the best rock group in the world today. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the girls: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 26 years old MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 27 years old Kanami Tono - Lead guitar Composer and main arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 28 years old Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 28 years old Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 29 years old Miku envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami (lead G), who recruited Akane (Dr), who recruited MISA (B). Then they collectively recruited Saiki (Vo). Miku didn't know how to play guitar, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual solo.
All right you're in Japan so as long as you're there check out a band called Ningen Isu any song you'd like but Heartless Scat is the one most people react to.
I think music like that is also called "J-Rock". J for Japan. Or does this already fall under the category of something some people call "Baby Metal"? I don't know. 😄 But it was quite enjoyable. That is one phenomenon of japanese musician. Especially the female ones. They look like dolls or teenagers and even timid. But once they start playing or singing, they take your breath away.😄😊👍
Band-Maid is hard Rock. J-rock bands usually don't tour outside Japan. Baby Metal is under Kawaii (cute) Metal. Band-Maid has had a world tour every year since 2016. Mostly Europe, Singapore, Mexico and recently in the US. They are fun to watch Live.
@@Matt-rn7ub no problem. Hopefully you will check out more of Band-Maid's Live videos. Their MV are very good but their Live videos are 10 times better in my opinion
Great fun reaction guys. I had heard of them but not heard anything more than a few seconds of them before but this was really great!Definitely will be checking out more of their stuff based on this, thanks!😁 Like many here have said they are definitely hard rock rather than metal. If you do want to check a Japanese metal band that are fairly well known but are equally good musicians and singers and are great fun check out Baby Metal. 'Gimme Chocolate' live studio performance on the Late Show of all places is a great one to check out. Not sure that the audience knew what they were in for but they loved it! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Steve! Glad you enjoyed the song as much as we did! Cool too know that people listen to the song right along with us! Will definitely check out more Japanese metal! -S
So time to dive in to the Japanese metal and rock scene ( also know as the best scene for new metal and rock bands). So my favourite band since I found them just a few years back is Versailles ( neoclassical/ progressive metal ) and if you should only listen to one song from this band I would suggest "Faith and decision " m.ua-cam.com/video/AdhfE6ITfoQ/v-deo.html . But you also have bands like Lovebites (powermetal), Maximum the hormone (there own genre of metal), Unlucky Morphius ( kind of symphonic) and many more.
No that you've done Band Maid, I bet that you're probably going to get a lot of suggestions for the Japanese bands Babymetal, Lovebites & Mary's Blood. The one I suggested in my other comment is also a Japanese band, but they don't have any female members and they play a more Sabbath-inspired doomy rock/metal than these other bands. Ningen-Isu have been around since 1987 but are mostly unknown outside of Japan. They have been called Japan's answer to Black Sabbath. Anyways, I don't usually post 2 comments, but here you go. Cheers! (PS...go Eagles!)
Excellent musicians and great showmanship all around in this band. Personally, I think the only reason that they are not bigger is the language barrier and possibly their label's lack of push for the band outside of Japan? I could be wrong, but that's just my opinion. I love that bass player...she just SHREDS on that bass guitar! I also like the fact that they use a font similar to Iron Maiden's for their logo...just goes to show who one of their influences are haha! Dunno if I ever requested this other Japanese band but here goes: Ningen-Isu - Heartless Scat (ua-cam.com/video/CbI79e5iZKs/v-deo.html). Cheers!
BAND-MAID consider themselves Hard Rock, though some songs are Metal influenced. If you liked the drums check out 'Freedom' from the same show . . . ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html
Hello Father and Son. Great reaction. I want to tell you about this other band called "Lovebites", another all female band from Japan. They are heavier than Band Maid and are great musicians. Please check them out. This is a live version of a song called "Thunder Vengeance". Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/v-deo.html
why is the audio echoy and tinny? I hope it sounded better than this for you! I know the recording you are watching does not sound like this so it must be something on your end.
@@fatherandsonreactions Yeah, but still a lot to watch :) And Epica (Netherlands) is another big name in symphonic metal. Maybe you should do some reactions... Sensorium: ua-cam.com/video/jxWHrHC2Qe4/v-deo.html Tides of Time: ua-cam.com/video/sn765tJuaoE/v-deo.html Simone Simons has a beautiful voice and she's classicaly trained like Floor. Although they are no match for real opera singers, their voices are still amazing. Tides of Time is a wonderful slow ballad. I always feel moved when Simone switches to her operatic vocals. Just wow...
@@fatherandsonreactions There's a common complaint with fans that all the songs from that concert have a weird mix. The lead guitar was mixed too low, and the backup vocals also. The lead singer sings the "hellos" on the studio version, so I think she's just telling the crowd to yell that part. When they gathered around the drummer, they were making funny faces at her and she was making them back. They spend a lot of time onstage having fun fun with each other and being silly. They really do look like they are a lot of fun live.
FINALLY time for some BAND MAID! You guys have been asking for a while and it’s about time we checked them out! What’s the next one we should hear? Let us know! 🤘🔥👍💛
The next one to check out is Japanese metal band Lovebites - When Destinies Align. Those ladies are amazing.
Do their song Thrill!
I forgot to tell you!!!!
This was song 22 out of 23. They were playing like this at the end of 2 hours of concert.
I know I requested Band Maid a very long time ago. And no, not metal. Hard rock.
Just choose any song of Band Maid. Even the power ballads are great. More than 80 songs in their setlists. It's really a f... rabbit hole. Cheers.
Thank you!! Have a great weekend as well! -S
Hey guys, great reaction. I fell for this band last year and flew to LA to see them in September. They are awesome! One of the best bands on the planet. More please! (Also check out The Warning from Mexico...three young sisters who rock. These two bands are reviving my passion and hope for rock.)
Thanks Jason! So they do play in the US ! Thanks for letting us know! Will definitely check out more! -S

The son nailed it. They're just fantastic rock and roll and just a great overall package.
🤘🤘🤘👍👍 -S
I think Band Maid is more rock/hard rock band than a metal band. Either way they are awesome!
Definitely awesome! -S
hard rock or metal, who actually cares - BAND MAID areawesome
@@elisabethacronqvist7859 Yeah...can we just settle on 'Iron Ore' or something? Rock...Metal...it's all a sliding scale. And the Maids have got some variety because they've become good at crafting songs...and have a pigeon that won't be pigeon-holed...but that's another story :-))
Yes, Saiki is a cool girl. She is also a sneaker fanatic and a Shinkansen (bullet train) nerd. They all are a bunch of lovely goof dorks.
Never heard of them, but very talented band.
Thank you! Will definitely do more live stuff 😉 -S
Thanks Jason ! -S
Finally! I’ve been asking for 6 months. Glad you liked it.
Thanks for reacting on BAND-MAID. Domination is the best choice for your first reaction.
Thank you for your comment. We will absolutely do more band maid !! Thanks for the comment -F
Heck yeah that bass is extremely important and every member is insane! We can’t wait to do more! -S
MISA!!!!! MISA!!!!!!! MISA!!!!!!! Badass Bass Assassin. Band-Maid is the best hard Rock band out there today. Some of their songs have some Metal elements. This Live video shows off the talent of these 5 ladies and how much fun they have on stage with each other.
They toured the US in 2019. NY, Dallas, and LA. They are scheduled to tour the US this year 2022!
Wow interesting! You can definitely tell the crowd loves the band very much. -S
Last time they were through "your area" they played the Gramercy Theatre NYC, which holds about 600 ppl. A very close up experience.
👍 thanks for lettin’ us know! -S
While you can certainly enjoy their music without understanding the language, just so you know they songwriting (mostly written by Miku, the rhythm guitar and backup singer) is praised by native Japanese speakers as some of the best in the business ... not only in just the 'poetry' but also in the style of writing. According to native Japanese speakers there is a form of songwriting in Japan that if I understand correctly takes Japanese and, modifies it slightly to add some aspects of English .. not just throwing in English words here and there, but because Japanese is a language that mostly consists of short syllables all ending with a vowel sound, is made more interesting by adding some English consonant sounds in the right places, something that for the Japanese is both hard to write and hard to sing, but Miku the lyricist has no problem writing, and Siaki the lead vocalist has no problem singing!)
The guitarist (Kanami,) bassist (MISA) and drummer (Akane) are all university-trained multi-instrumentalist.

Finally, welcome to Band-Maid and please do more soon.
Great reaction guys, definitely happy rock, more Band Maid pls :)
Thank you! Will definitely do more 😉-S
Onset next song, this is very hard rock
Great reaction. They're more of a Hard Rock band than Metal, but they mix so many genre's that it's hard to assign one to them. Looking forward to more reactions, check out "Freedom" for another song from this same concert.
Thank you! -S
But yeah, I thought this was pretty great!
I won't say exactly what their music is like, but I will say a song request from me would be "Give me Chocolate."
Boris is another Japanese metal band, that I MIGHT recommend? I'll have to listen to more of their catalogue, to really say. Another popular Japanese metal band is "Dir En Grey", but I haven't listened to much of them. I know they're pretty extreme, though.
I don't know every foreign band on the face of the Earth, but I do like dabbling in some every now and then. A couple of my favorite groups are foreign, that don't use much English. :P
You should REALLY react to Rammstein. "Du Hast" live in Paris. They're a German industrial-metal band.
I don't think that one is copyrighted? I see plenty of reactions of it, but if you want to pause to be safe, do so if you like. Rammstein live is something else. lol
My prime request, Solstafir, is an Icelandic post-rock/metal band.
Haha! XD
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Thanks for the tip on Solstafir, haven't heard them yet.
They are definitely a live band but their studio recordings are still good.
Future songs to try:
Freedom (Live): This song is more of a pop-punk type of sound. But if you like the drums, they are really strong in this song. This song shows off a bit of how they like to play around with each other when they play as well. ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html
Real Existence (Live): A song with more of a classic rock vibe to it. Very fast paced and the bass is insane in this one. Plus you guys seemed to like Saiki singing and performing, and this one focuses on her more. ua-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/v-deo.html
Blooming (Music Video): This song was written as a homework assignment by Kanami, the lead guitar. She had everyone write portions of the song, and put them all together into a masterpiece of rock music. This song has intense driving drums and some amazing singing from Saiki and Miku. ua-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/v-deo.html
Rinne (Music Video): The song where they go their hardest. This is a hard hitting song released as a reply to people saying that they were going soft in some of their previous songs. This is as metal as Band-Maid gets. ua-cam.com/video/CQ9dbEVgZcA/v-deo.html

And many are represented with over 30 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.).
MISA! MISA!
WOW THANKS GOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE ALL OF THIS! You’re awesome! -S

The Hammer of Wrath
#ftw
"We are Lovebites, and we play HEAVY METAL"... yes they do
I would say they are hard rock band with elements of progressive and punk rock. Also they have blues flavour.
OK, you have opened the floodgates. Why do you love this? Because they may be the best rock group in the world today. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the girls:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 26 years old
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 27 years old
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar Composer and main arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 28 years old
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 28 years old
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 29 years old
Miku envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal.
Best rock and roll band in the world today!! Not metal. Band Maid Forever! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
;0 band-maid's whole thing is 'ULTRA-ROCK' and 'GOOD TIMES!' keep watching, the live stuff is the best - but their music-videos are awesome too!
They are unbeatable LIVE, but they also produce great studio albums (each album get better).

Also, "ONSET" Live is a rocking instrumental
I think music like that is also called "J-Rock". J for Japan. Or does this already fall under the category of something some people call "Baby Metal"? I don't know. 😄
But it was quite enjoyable.

Great fun reaction guys. I had heard of them but not heard anything more than a few seconds of them before but this was really great!Definitely will be checking out more of their stuff based on this, thanks!😁
Like many here have said they are definitely hard rock rather than metal.
I think Saiki would be pleased with that comparison to Pat Benatar. A classic.
Try Freedom and Rinne , dice , so many great songs.
PAT YAMAHA??? :-)) Hey guys...You've found a great band here. Sweet ladies...hella talented and proficient rockers (Take the Red Pill)
Liked that not heard them before Father & Son
Glad you enjoyed Paul! -S
Hard Rock but not metal.
(With some Heavy Metal influences) :)
So time to dive in to the Japanese metal and rock scene ( also know as the best scene for new metal and rock bands).
So my favourite band since I found them just a few years back is Versailles ( neoclassical/ progressive metal ) and if you should only listen to one song from this band I would suggest "Faith and decision "
m.ua-cam.com/video/AdhfE6ITfoQ/v-deo.html .
But you also have bands like Lovebites (powermetal), Maximum the hormone (there own genre of metal), Unlucky Morphius ( kind of symphonic) and many more.
Listen to Onset live by them it's an instrumental.
Cheers!
Definitely agree and thank you for the request also! We’ve gotten that request before so we might put it on the list! Thanks Mike! -S
React to LOVEBITES is all female power metal , songs Holy War (live) or When Destiny Aling (official video)
Try "Play" live....you will love it!
Guys, your next reaction should be to Metallica's Creeping death, live in Moscow 1991. U are gonna be amazed by it!!
I think it's about time to again get back to Alice in Chains, w/ the song "Rain When I Die".
BAND-MAID consider themselves Hard Rock, though some songs are Metal influenced. If you liked the drums check out 'Freedom' from the same show . . . ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html
saiki is the best asian vocalist for sure no floor but still
How about Loudness- crazy nights or let it go?? Japanese 80s metal
Check out Band-Maid. “Dice”.
Keep going........
PLEASE DO MORE BAND-MAID...SOON ;-)
Oh we plan on it for sure !! I really liked them -F
You have to do their song Thrill!
Love bites/Thunder Vengeance
Onset next!

Haha sorry about that! 🤣! And yes! We will definitely get to Sabaton! -S
Father and Son Reactions
Sabaton whole carrier has some amazing lyrics about wars, glories and histories
Do a lyric video if you do in future
Will do! Thanks 👍-S
akane drumsolo? react 2 freedom
why is the audio echoy and tinny? I hope it sounded better than this for you! I know the recording you are watching does not sound like this so it must be something on your end.
Thanks for letting us know. We will check into it. Larry
Ok, I'm not sure what to think about this one. I need to let this digest a bit. I'm torn.
Tapani , I was thinking the same thing after like 15-20 seconds , but then my mind opened up and it came raining down on me that these women rock -F
@@fatherandsonreactions No more Nightwish? And what about Epica?
We did Nightwish about a week or 2 ago! 😁 -S
@@fatherandsonreactions Yeah, but still a lot to watch :)
And Epica (Netherlands) is another big name in symphonic metal. Maybe you should do some reactions...
Sensorium: ua-cam.com/video/jxWHrHC2Qe4/v-deo.html
Tides of Time: ua-cam.com/video/sn765tJuaoE/v-deo.html
Simone Simons has a beautiful voice and she's classicaly trained like Floor. Although they are no match for real opera singers, their voices are still amazing.
Tides of Time is a wonderful slow ballad. I always feel moved when Simone switches to her operatic vocals. Just wow...
🎸Is this band good?👍
aretha franklin
Great suggestion !!! We will have to find something we don’t know by her. Thank you for the comment -F
Thanks great review, I love Band-Maid but the sound was terrible ! They are not metal !
The sound of the song you mean? -S
Ahh ok thanks for letting us know! -S
@@fatherandsonreactions As Chris Bergsten says. Have listened to other reactors who play this track and no problem, sorry to say yours is muffled !
