Band Maid 👐 You will get a lot of song suggestions. It doesnt matter which one you choose...they are all great.😄 Band Maid ...the savior for Hard Rock!
Yes!, more Band Maid please!. I am convinced that the girls would love to see your reaction. The astonishment. That is what they are looking for, the difference between how they are seen and how they sound. They call it "The Gap."
MISA - Bass Saiki (blue rose) - vocals Miku - red rose, 2nd vocalist and guitar. Started the Band, had worked in a maid cafe Akane - Drummer Kanami - Main guitarist, incredible solos
Whoo Band-Maid! They can definitely play and they are so good live. They’ve been around since 2013, and have released 6 albums, their most recent being Conqueror in December of 2019. A basic intro, basically Miku (The Rhythm Guitarist with the pigtails singing backup vocals) used to work in a maid cafe and got inspiration to combine the cute image of maids with a hard rock sound. She found the lead guitarist Kanami on UA-cam (She used to be a singer/songwriter). Kanami invited the drummer Akane who would provide backup for her, who then in turn invited her classmate Misa the bass player. They originally went forward as a 4 person group but Miku found her voice lacking for the group and so they auditioned and brought aboard Saiki the lead singer. And how to pronounce their names: Miku (Mee-Koo) Kanami (Kah-Nah-Mee) Akane (Ah-Kah-Nay) Misa (Mee-Sah) Saiki (Sigh-Key)
MISA! MISA! MISA! Holding the line in solid guitar Rock, Band Maid has taken up the Mantel of Rock'n'Roll where the West has left it behind. More Band Maid Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Saw these ladies in London in 2018 and haven't stopped smiling ever since. 2+ hour show and they were on it from the start to the end. One of the most enjoyable gigs I've ever been to. Having said that, this is not one of their best tracks (imho), It's good but there's better out there. Moratorium, Real Existence, Turn Me On, Non Fiction Days, Don't You Tell Me, Dice......all worth a look, as are their 2 newest releases Blooming and Rinne.. Enjoy. 😁
Welcome aboard, Patrol Gaming. You are embarking on (along with many others) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of rock n’ rollers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (nearly 100 songs with new album, “Conqueror”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their later songs drive even more - Rin’ne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written slower tunes like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series! And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: ua-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/v-deo.html, the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: ua-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/v-deo.html, and third, JOSER8845 in LA: ua-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/v-deo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BR & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.). Saiki Atsumi “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 25 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Her charisma, performance and voice focus the experience. Miku Kobato "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 28 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kurrupo! No, no, no… KURRUPO!! Kanami Tono “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 28 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose "Gorilla" - Drums, 29 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party! MISA "Assassin" - Bass, 27 years old. A sullen, barefoot, dark spirit driving her 5-string bottom-end to hell and back, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. The Mysterious One literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Falling into the "foxhole" & "pigeonhole" all at once. You're gonna be a busy man my friend & I'll be here for it all. Band-Maid is the best "hard rock" band I've heard in 30yrs. They have some really good videos, but I mostly prefer their live performances because they always add a little something extra, plus they're just a pleasure to watch.
I am shocked you haven't seen these girls before. They are the real deal. In Japan there are Maid Cafes, where the waitresses all wear the maid costumes, and that is where it comes from. Take me higher(Live) Moratorium(Live) Puzzle(Live) Don't you tell me(Live) Onset (Live/Instrumental) Rinne(MV)
MISA MISA MISA!!! The Ass-Chined Assassin! She's the most popular member. She always has her own fans on the left side of the stage. She doesn't say a lot, and lets her bass do most of the talking. Her "Charm Point" is drinking. She usually has a bottle of something and her motto is "Alcohol is Necessar". And Miku Kobato, she is the band's founder and Spokes Pigeon, P-po, who often ends her sentences in Po. Her last name means Little Pigeon, and in Japan pigeons don't Coo, they Karuppo! She actually did work in a Maid Cafe' where she got the idea of The GAP of Girls in cute maid uniforms playing Hard Rock. She soon found Akane Hirose, (pronounced Ahh-Kah-Nay, and not A-Cane. Just say it like it's one syllable.) She was vote leader of the band because she's the most normal, except for her abnormally huge appetite and super human drumming ability. She went to the Tokyo School of Music with MISA. Miku found Kanami Tono through her guitar videos online. She's kind of an Airhead, except when lost in a solo and her animal side comes out. She's also fiercely loyal to the lead singer, Saiki Atsumi. They had the same agent. Miku wanted double vocals and felt her voice wasn't strong enough for lead, so she stepped aside and became Backup vocals and learned rhythm guitar. They didn't tell Saiki she would be dressed as a maid though, just that they would be wearing "Cute Costumes". She was the first one to ditch the apron. She's very Tsundere. She's the Ice Queen, at least until she warms to someone. That's BAND-MAID in a large nutshell.
I think Akane was voted to be the leader of the band after that unpleasant event early in their career when Akane and Kanami were waiting for the other three members to come to a meeting, but they were late for half an hour, and Kanami cried: - Are you never late on meetings? Kanami: I keep in mind never to be late. Miku: Before, Kanami once cried, like “please really don’t do that again…” po. Saiki: Yes, when we were late on a meeting. Akane: When we formed Band-Maid, in the beginning, some of us had a habit of being late… Saiki: Other than Kanami and Akane, we were always late. I thought like, “I’m only one minute late. What’s the problem?” I apologized of course when I was late 30 minutes or so, but not when I was late one minute. Miku: That’s when me, Saiki, and Misa were all late. When we three arrived, Kanami shed tears, saying “please really don’t do that again!” Saiki: Those were tears of anger. Kanami: I think I probably didn’t cry… I usually don’t get angry. I don’t, but at that time… Saiki: I know, there’s no need to repeat it (laughter). Since then, we haven’t seen Kanami’s tears. Kanami: Because you are no longer late. www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/f1tz0k/interview_with_bandmaid_on_headbang_vol_19/
I'll add to the band descriptions with my own: Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - band founder, main lyricist, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, occasional lead vocals and spokespigeon. Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar, backing vocals, main music composer. Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, backing vocals, sequencing. Half human and half gorilla. Misa (ミサ, stylized as MISA) - bass, occasional assassinations. Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - main lead and occasional backing vocals. Their whole catalog is solid, but I have only one request. React to the song 'Secret My Lips': ua-cam.com/video/SPgKG8MCDjA/v-deo.html BEFORE reacting to 'Secret Maiko Lips', the special April 1st, 2018 version. Trust me on this one.
@@gefaerbt She used to be when they had that role. Which mostly meant she was responsible for organizing practice sessions. They've mentioned that's no longer the case in more recent interviews.
@@gefaerbt Here's a link to a translated interview where Akane explains that's no longer the case: www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c83kd9/translated_akanes_interview_in_the_day_before/ Scroll down to the part that begins "-Eh!? But isn't Akane-san the band leader...?"
Couldn't have said it better myself friend! Music indeed has no boundaries. Languages have no control over it. The music speaks for itself. And boy does it speak in Band-Maid's case! You can try, but I assure you, you won't find a single bad song from these ladies. And they're definitely better live! Would love to see more reactions from you! Can't go wrong with them! GGMU!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band Maid. They are awesome aren't they. The first song I heard from them was "Take Me Higher" and was hooked. The riff sounds like Nickelback's "Animal" but the ladies play the hell out of it and the back and forth between MISA on bass and Kanami on guitar during the solos is an awesome bonus. You are going to love it. ua-cam.com/video/vFyYiPDZzdw/v-deo.html
Rock and Roll is alive and well in the hands of 5 beautiful and very highly talented Japanese ladies. Yes they are always in uniform, the uniforms create"the gap" that is popular in Japan. The gap being what you see, Maids, and what you are hearing Hard Rock. As with most Asian music groups/bands they have been playing since childhood. They create all their songs. MISA(always Caps) is the bassist. The American producer Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T Rex) recently worked with them on a song on their latest album. Jimmy Page likes them especially the drummer who he ranked with Bonham. SONGS; Puzzle live, Onset, Rinne, and their "debut" song Thrill. their entire catalog goes from good to really great.
React to Take Me Higher live, Moratorium live, Secret My Lips live, Don't You Tell Me live, you can't go wrong with any Band Maid song especially live.
MISA MISA MISA!!! The Ass-Chined Assassin! She's the most popular member. She always has her own fans on the left side of the stage. And yes, they always wear their uniforms when they go into battle. They're out to conquer the world. The even have little Call & Response "Battles" between the guitar and bass in songs like 'Take Me Higher' LIVE and 'Don't You Tell Me' LIVE. Just make sure it's the 4:19 version. The only time they don't wear the uniforms is on April Fools Days. That's when they put on kimonos and become BAND-MAIKO. So don't forget to check out those videos as well. But you haven't seen anything yet! For BAND-MAID this is like a warm up song. Their catalog is broad and deep. They've been churning out hits for over five years. They have a vast array of influences, Funk, Punk, Jazz, Metal Power Pop. They even do soft acoustic love ballads. They don't have any really bad songs., only good songs and great songs, though I would steer clear o the Fan-Cam TV performances that don't show them in the best light. But anything from their Studio Coast or Zepp Tokyo LIVE concerts is pure awesome sauce! As for Music Videos? You could start at the beginning with 'Thrill' or with the're latest release off of Conqueror, 'Blooming'. 'Rin'ne' is probably their heaviest song. It's up to you!
Welcome to the fandom! Man, are you gonna get a lot of song suggestions now ;) I'd say, pick anyone, you can't lose! (live is better). Also, Kanami is a goddess (I've got such a crush on her) Shamelessly copied from Wiki: The band, first known as BAND-MAID®, formed in July 2013. Singer/guitarist Miku Kobato, formerly an employee of a Japanese maid café, envisioned forming a band that juxtaposed the maid image with rock music. Kobato recruited lead guitarist Kanami Tōno after an Internet search. Tōno had performed as a singer-songwriter and suggested her occasional backing drummer Akane Hirose for the new band. Hirose in turn suggested bassist Misa, with whom she had attended music school. On July 24, 2013 they had their first live performance at the PP Audition held at Osaka Deep, as a quartet with Kobato on vocals. The band then decided to recruit an additional lead singer and selected Saiki Atsumi during auditions.
Except two haven't since 2014. And it is not a maid costume. What Miku, Kanami and Akane wear is the standard Maid Cafés employees uniform. MISA after a few times said she would not wear it and Saiki has said if she had known she would have to wear a Maid Cafés uniform she would never have joined the band.
@@sacluvsBM Kanami played in a band in her high school, wearing Maid uniform, you know? She said, it was funny when Miku explained the concept to her, because it was something very familiar 😂
This plus Onset (live) and Don't You Tell Me (live) are the holy trinity. You started at the top bit there are no bad songs. Dice is another good one or the MV for Thrill if you want to see an older song to see how far they have come in the last couple years. MISA is the bass player and obviously an audience favorite. Welcome to the club. Band-Maid is what Babymetal fans listen to when they grow up.
Japan has so many good rock-and-roll bands, they put all other countries to shame, and Band-Maid are among the best. Get ready for them to consume your life! LOL
I've dropped by previously for Nightwish reactions but now you've started the Band-Maid journey I'm along for the ride. Subbed. Watch your channel explode. A deffo super group but my fav is the drummer Akane (A-chan). Powerhouse. A drummer's drummer. She's magnificent 💥💥💥
Liked your reaction. Two Japanese bans that are around for decades: Ningen Isu and Show-Ya. Like the Saltire in the background. Greetings from Germany Kilt on. Alba gù brath.
Japanese Rock? I don't know if it's been there for ages. I first stumbled on it in 2009 when I found this - FACT / a fact of life (BOOM BOOM SATELLITES Remix)_short version - It's a video not a live performance but the visuals are stunning and the guitar is just beautiful.. you'll see what I mean!
I've been a big fan of Japanese contemporary music since 2014 (Feb, when Babymetal's first viral video) and haven't looked back since. Band-Maid is my favorite right now, they don't have a band song. And yes, they wear the maid uniforms all the time, except for their special 'April Fool's' videos they release on April 1st, where they wear 'Makio' (Geshia in training) uniforms and add some traditional instrument sounds ... and still rock it out.) Japan, and Asia in general are releasing some kick-ass music no matter what genre you like. My theory is that unlike the west where kids start playing in garage bands for fun, bang out some music to beat-machines and never actually bother to learn their craft beyond the basics, the Asians take the whole thing far more serious ... do you want to be a scientist or a musician? A Musician, ok, then here's your music/presentation/media/business/marketing degrees you will need .. that and 8 hours practice every day and you should be ready to start by the time you're in your 20's = amazing results.
@@kevinmoppett4760 wow. First video I found war 'Blaze live'. Not my type of music but it was an instant Subscribe. I love when kids do the genre so right, even if it's not a genre I listen to much ... But they do look interesting so I'll keep an eye out. Have you seen Lisa-X (Japanese) or YoYo (Chinese) yet? Two incredible teen (actually I think one of them turned 13 this year, the other I think is just 12) guitar shredders? They have lots of individual videos and at least one where they play together ... They area incredible ... And not just incredible for a couple of kids ... Just straight up incredible.
Another Japanese band worth your attention is Galneryus - Power metal. They have one of the best guitarists on the planet, Syu. I suggest Destiny, or Angel of Salvation.

Well, Japan have a really great music bands.... for ages, only that in Europe or EEUU only a few known of them before UA-cam The great explosion on rock in Japan starts in the 80th with bands like the legendary X-Japan, and if you never hear of them... those people are a true legend in the metal scene. They change the way music was "think" in Japan forever. The founder of X-Japan, drummer and composer is truly a genuine music genius, period. A lot of great groups, a lot of them still active, others no more born and disappear like a witch cauldron. There are really a lot of great groups almost in every genre you can imagine, from pop, punk, rock, metal... anything. The band have a documentary from Stephen Kijak, just see the trailer ua-cam.com/video/9dQwUd25uVY/v-deo.html But you have the language barrier and also the little interest of their record labels to promote their bands outside Japan until a little time before today. Also in the 1999 they create the fist "bandol" or "idol band", a extrange mix between pop/rock and idol genre with the band "Zone" who get some fame even outside Japan. Even before this you can find a veteran punk/Rock band still active like Shonen Knife from 1981. In the 2006 borns Scandal, a wonderful rock band of 4 girls from Osaka who where still in high school who are still playing today. In 2008 Aldious, a power metal all female band who inspires a lot of girls to get into metal. Groups like Dir en Grey, Galneryus, Luna Sea, Júpiter... the list can goes for a long time. Even a few years ago you can find new groups like Lovebites, another all female power metal group incredibly good. Band Maid is one among a lot more, but the work of their founder: Kobato Miku to shell them shine among others. Also of course they are a very talented musicians, but think that this level in Japan is not the exception but almost the rule. They learn to play instruments from kider where childs under 6 years learn to play as an example the pianica, after this in primary school a recorder, and in high school a "real instrument" who can be from a guitar, battery, wind instruments... there a lot of groups in high school playing music so a lot of talented ones comes from this education policy. Really, don´t get me wrong, i love Band Maid, i buy their records but they are no "the only good group from Japan", just try someday some of others like those Aldious: ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html or Lovebytes ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html Both of them power metal all-female
Glad you enjoyed them! Yes music is universal and normally it's a great news. But the problem is we don't live in a fairy tail. The probably for a japanese artist or japanese band to be famous worldwilde is very low because they don't receive mediatic attention from the world. Yes the fans will say they are famous but it's not true they are only famous for the fans, it's not the same. Go in the street ask people if they know band maid or any other japanese bands you will not have a lot of yes answers (almost 0).... Go to the street and ask if they know Drake or any other US rappers winning billions of dollars they will easily say yes. We don't live in a world for japanese artists and that's sad... the girls deserve better and the entire japanese scene deserve better.
BAND-MAID is namba-wan! A1/Lit/Fire!!! I vote for their song Moratorium next. Oh I had another Japanese band for you, please do check out this one [ Official Live Video ] Unlucky Morpheus - 「Angreifer」 ua-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/v-deo.html Thanks and ciao! /,,/
Time to also checkout some male bands aswell now maybe? Versailles - Faith and decision ( ua-cam.com/video/AdhfE6ITfoQ/v-deo.html ), it's a really great band with a unique sound.
"This is another Japanese band." No, not hardly. In fact, despite much good music from Japan from many musical acts Band-Maid is completely unique even in Japan. In fact, Band-Maid is the only rock band from that nation. Several of the top acts play rock music but only one is a standout genuine rock n roll band. Fact.
Are you serious ? The rock scene in Japan is diverse... I like a lot band maid, they don't receive enough attention even in Japan but Japan has a great rock scene since decades...
Rob, I stand behind you every inch but don't forget Asterism and my new Rock godessess Girls Rock Band Kakumei (Revolution)! The both of them are masterclass musicians. I just love 'em! Band-Maid/Asterism/Girls Rock Band Kakumei. What a trio of girlpower in these hard rockin' bands. These ladies play the shame out of any male rockin' bastards. 😋🤘. For example: Metallica and Creed.
Well, even though I almost don't listen lately to anything except BAND-MAID, still, for the justice's sake, there are bands like Asterism, which is my second favourite (after talking to them in Fukuoka this January, I started to love them even more), and a ton of other bands, which carry to torch of rock high above. The only two bands I spend my money on are BAND-MAID and Asterism, though.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 forgive my hyperbole but l stand by it. My point is that Band-Maid is not another band on the scene even though they are. No one in their right mind would say that great music does not come from Japan. What l maintain is that while several groups play different types of modern music Band-Maid is the only self formed true rock n roll band at this level. This has been confirmed to me by at least four different people in Japan l talk with regularly. They are in a category all by themselves even in Japan. There really is a difference. And l don't dispute that many can't and some won't see it but for those of us who know it is there. They have a whole lot of punk in them, too. And l know you see that as clearly as l do. This is not written to disrespect anyone. Only to illustrate a difference that l know many of us see. And for you others don't trip. You are certainly allowed to enjoy the music if you'd like no matter who you are or where you are from.
@@Kawaiiraiden and no one has said different. There is popular music for all to enjoy as they see fit. Playing rock n roll music is not the determining factor. Being rock n roll is. Even playing "rock music" well is not the determining factor. Otherwise a whole slew of punk bands never would have made the cut. My apologies to the others you mentioned. They are very good. Just not necessarily rock n roll. Band-Maid is playing Budokan.
Their live stuff really shines with extra solos and battles.
Band Maid 👐
You will get a lot of song suggestions. It doesnt matter which one you choose...they are all great.😄
Band Maid ...the savior for Hard Rock!
Yes!, more Band Maid please!. I am convinced that the girls would love to see your reaction. The astonishment. That is what they are looking for, the difference between how they are seen and how they sound. They call it "The Gap."

Saiki (blue rose) - vocals
Miku - red rose, 2nd vocalist and guitar. Started the Band, had worked in a maid cafe
Akane - Drummer
Kanami - Main guitarist, incredible solos

And how to pronounce their names:
Miku (Mee-Koo)
Kanami (Kah-Nah-Mee)
Akane (Ah-Kah-Nay)
Misa (Mee-Sah)
Saiki (Sigh-Key)
MISA! MISA! MISA!
Holding the line in solid guitar Rock, Band Maid has taken up the Mantel of Rock'n'Roll where the West has left it behind.
More Band Maid Always!!
Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
"ONSET" is an instrumental by them that you need to hear. The bass and lead guitar duel between Misa and Kanami will melt your brain! 💥💫😵
Saw these ladies in London in 2018 and haven't stopped smiling ever since.

And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BR & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.).
MISA! MISA!
MISA!!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!!!!!!! Bad ass bass player. They have been playing since 2013 Good Hard Rock is good hard Rock
Enter the "Zoo hole". Foxes, pigeons, and even a gorilla-like skin 'n' brass abuser 😉🤘
I am shocked you haven't seen these girls before. They are the real deal.
In Japan there are Maid Cafes, where the waitresses all wear the maid costumes, and that is where it comes from.

I think Akane was voted to be the leader of the band after that unpleasant event early in their career when Akane and Kanami were waiting for the other three members to come to a meeting, but they were late for half an hour, and Kanami cried:
- Are you never late on meetings?
Kanami: I keep in mind never to be late.
Miku: Before, Kanami once cried, like “please really don’t do that again…” po.
Saiki: Yes, when we were late on a meeting.
Akane: When we formed Band-Maid, in the beginning, some of us had a habit of being late…
Saiki: Other than Kanami and Akane, we were always late. I thought like, “I’m only one minute late. What’s the problem?” I apologized of course when I was late 30 minutes or so, but not when I was late one minute.
Miku: That’s when me, Saiki, and Misa were all late. When we three arrived, Kanami shed tears, saying “please really don’t do that again!”
Saiki: Those were tears of anger.
Kanami: I think I probably didn’t cry… I usually don’t get angry. I don’t, but at that time…
Saiki: I know, there’s no need to repeat it (laughter). Since then, we haven’t seen Kanami’s tears.
Kanami: Because you are no longer late.

I'll add to the band descriptions with my own:
Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - band founder, main lyricist, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, occasional lead vocals and spokespigeon.
Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar, backing vocals, main music composer.
Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, backing vocals, sequencing. Half human and half gorilla.
Misa (ミサ, stylized as MISA) - bass, occasional assassinations.
Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - main lead and occasional backing vocals.
Their whole catalog is solid, but I have only one request.
React to the song 'Secret My Lips': ua-cam.com/video/SPgKG8MCDjA/v-deo.html
BEFORE reacting to 'Secret Maiko Lips', the special April 1st, 2018 version. Trust me on this one.

I want to add that Akane is also the group's leader.
@@gefaerbt She used to be when they had that role. Which mostly meant she was responsible for organizing practice sessions. They've mentioned that's no longer the case in more recent interviews.

I'd suggest "Dice" for another Band Maid reaction if you want an actual music video. They are great live though!
Finding good music from foreign countries is the magic of the internet....
Whenever a true rock fan discovers Band-Maid and J-Rock is the right time. Welcome, pilgrim!
Thans PG! Great song and reaction.
Now you have found band maid, hold on to your sit.
Welcome to the fandom! Man, are you gonna get a lot of song suggestions now ;) I'd say, pick anyone, you can't lose! (live is better). Also, Kanami is a goddess (I've got such a crush on her)
Shamelessly copied from Wiki:
The band, first known as BAND-MAID®, formed in July 2013.
Every concert and public appearances they will be wearing their maid outfits.
@@VladimirChupin that is a fact.
Dice is a must hear for the next one! My favorite of theirs and Misa (bassist) has a sick line thru the whole song
If you want more Band Maid, I recommend the song, Thrill as your next reaction.
I am looking forward to watch your next reaction.
Liked your reaction. Two Japanese bans that are around for decades: Ningen Isu and Show-Ya.

LOL!! Welcome to the world of Band-Maid. MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!!!
Misa slapping the crap out of that bass like it owes her money
Japanese Rock? I don't know if it's been there for ages. I first stumbled on it in 2009 when I found this - FACT / a fact of life (BOOM BOOM SATELLITES Remix)_short version - It's a video not a live performance but the visuals are stunning and the guitar is just beautiful.. you'll see what I mean!
I've been a big fan of Japanese contemporary music since 2014 (Feb, when Babymetal's first viral video) and haven't looked back since.
Band-Maid is my favorite right now, they don't have a band song.
And yes, they wear the maid uniforms all the time, except for their special 'April Fool's' videos they release on April 1st, where they wear 'Makio' (Geshia in training) uniforms and add some traditional instrument sounds ... and still rock it out.)
Japan, and Asia in general are releasing some kick-ass music no matter what genre you like.
For a look at some technical ability at an early age take a look at ' 'Asterism', 3 teenagers playing harder and better than many seasoned rockers. 😁
You will soon recognise that Band-Maid is "Da Shit!".
This hard rockin' funk-pop-punks are the best there is.

Another Japanese band worth your attention is Galneryus - Power metal. They have one of the best guitarists on the planet, Syu. I suggest Destiny, or Angel of Salvation.
If you haven't checked them out you need to react to these video's and they are better live. They are so skilled, talented and have great synergy.
BAND-MAID - Don't you tell ME (Live)
BAND-MAID - PLAY (Live)
BAND-MAID - Moratorium (Live)
BAND MAID - ONSET (Live) (The band calls this Saiki's (lead singer) pee pee song.)
BAND MAID - Take Me Higher (Live)
Jimmy Page called the drummer )Akane) the reincarnation of John Bonham, after seeing them play an awards show in 2016. Bassist is MISA!,

'I don't know where these Japanese bands are coming from'. Japan i think.
Well, Japan have a really great music bands.... for ages, only that in Europe or EEUU only a few known of them before UA-cam
The great explosion on rock in Japan starts in the 80th with bands like the legendary X-Japan, and if you never hear of them... those people are a true legend in the metal scene. They change the way music was "think" in Japan forever. The founder of X-Japan, drummer and composer is truly a genuine music genius, period. A lot of great groups, a lot of them still active, others no more born and disappear like a witch cauldron. There are really a lot of great groups almost in every genre you can imagine, from pop, punk, rock, metal... anything.
The band have a documentary from Stephen Kijak, just see the trailer
ua-cam.com/video/9dQwUd25uVY/v-deo.html
But you have the language barrier and also the little interest of their record labels to promote their bands outside Japan until a little time before today.
Really, don´t get me wrong, i love Band Maid, i buy their records but they are no "the only good group from Japan", just try someday some of others like those

Good reaction, mate, from a Band-Maid fan in Scotland. Cheers for the flag, too! What's that about?
Oh I had another Japanese band for you, please do check out this one [ Official Live Video ] Unlucky Morpheus - 「Angreifer」 ua-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/v-deo.html
