I don't give one rip what anyone else thinks. For me it's abundantly clear and I have over a dozen reasons why. To each their own...like whoever you want. For me there is none better.
Agree. BandMaid is a definition of a saying "These guys ROCK!". And they also dont have that "bad-boy-girl" appeal. No tatoes, no cigarette at the corner, no leather or crazy behavior. All you need is to burst on stage with your emotions and skills - and my socks will be rocked off )
Side guitarist Miku Kobato couldn't play the guitar when the band was formed. She learned how to play the guitar from Kanami in the last 5 to 6 years and is now an indispensable side guitarist for Band-Maid. It would have been difficult to play with three talented members. Kobato is still evolving. This shows the potential of a person.

By coincidence they have a song called FREEZER that is an effing banger too
FROM JAPAN Thank you for Reaction Band-Maid. They are hard rock and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing hard rock in a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 20-23 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 30 songs have been released on their official UA-cam, all of which are killer songs. They will release a new song "Different" on December 2nd and a full album "Unseen World" in January 20 next year. It was announced that the new song "Different" will be the theme song for the animation "Log Horizon Round Table Collapse" that start in January 13 next year on NHK's E-TV (educational broadcast) Japan. Official UA-cam ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAIDvideos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=2126 For hard rock, "Thrill," "DOMINATION (Live) ," "Secret my lips," "Rinne," and "YOLO." For ballads, "Wonderland ," "Endless story ,"and "Daydreaming" For a fun live, "FREEDOM(Live) ," "CROSS", and "Choose me" Japanese style "Secret maiko lips" and "GION-CHO" My most favorite songs right now are the "Puzzle" band version and the acoustic version. Next, their latest Live work " FREEDOM (Live) " would be good.(^^♪ BAND MEMBER Miku Kobato : Side guitar, back vocal, lyricist, band founder, Public relations officer, Kobato is a small pigeon! Saiki : Lead vocal, the youngest, and member call her a teacher and she make various decisions. likes bullet trains. Kanami Tono : Lead guitar, composer (prolific genius), good at piano. hobby is reading. good at making sweets. Akane Hirose : Drummer, band leader, good at funny faces, She is a big eater. She loves anime. Misa : Bassist, stage drinks are liquor, play with bare feet. She is the most shy and reticent. good at cooking.
Very Cool. I don't know much about these talented young ladies. I'm very impressed. Love the bass. As usual, you put a smile on my face. Have a great day. Love you guys!💚
Hi Lisa - do yourself a favor and explore their YT channel - they're always changing it up, but the common theme is the rock your socks off and make you grin really big at the same time - their music has both the "hard" and the "catchy" - and also is so well arranged and complex, and multi-layered you can listen to the same song a million times and still keep hearing something new. They just make you happy!
Great band! Don't know a lot by them or about but what I've heard I've really liked and this one is no exception. Like you say they are so insanely talented. They definitely deserve to be better known.
Band Maid is even better LIVE !! Unfortunately last April, with the release of their Line Cube Shibuya Concert DVD/BR they pulled about 40 live videos from their Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo Concert BR/DVD's They do have some of those vids from those concerts on their UA-cam channel. New song "Different" 12/2/20, New Album "Unseen World" 1/20/21 !!
Hey guys, appreciate the shout out here. I'm just glad you guys are actually enjoying things. I don't understand Japanese either, but at some point you just sing along phonetically and go with it. :D As far as I can tell, the song's about rolling the dice (get it?) and seeing what happens. About taking chances and experiencing new things, both good and bad. I think the blind-folded girl in the video is supposed to be someone who is afraid to go out and do these things, and by the end she takes the blind fold off and walks outside into the light. Live stuff is usually preferable, but their album work is good as well. If you want more music videos you can try "Blooming", which continues the theme of amazing, driving drumming and fast-paced singing: ua-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/v-deo.html For more live performances do "Real Existence", which I posted about before: ua-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/v-deo.html:

You seem to love that bass, as any reasonable person would. MISA! MISA! MISA! And, of course, Kanami can melt the faces off of Mt. Rushmore with her solos. Try Onset. Its an instrumental, done live to give Seike a break. Really shows the ladies talent. Kanami really shines. She writes and composes the songs. Moratorium, Dont you tell me (live), Turn me on, Take me higher, The Dragon cries, Blooming all great songs. My favorite band now along with Nightwish. Just good rock music. Love Kanamis guitar work. She says Carlos Santana, Larry Carlton, and EVH are inspiratation. Take me higher i love, as Kanami works the wah pedal so well.
Look at you two. Two proper Band-Maid fans. You can’t help but be happy hearing this music. Check out Play (Live) next, then Onset. The Live videos, they are even better.
This was fascinating. Not been exposed to Japanese girl bands before (except for the one in Kill Bill) and 'maid cafes' I have not come across in all the insane things about Japan you see in travelogues on TV. The Japanese are huge anglophiles and love a lot of things we do in the west, like rock music, so they copy it and push the envelope to an extreme, but with that added unique Japanese cultural twist (in this case the 'maid cafe' culture). Kudos to you guys for doing this and thanks.
Awesome band. Mix pop and hard rock perfectly. This song kicks ass. Glad you like them. You gotta do Lovebites, who are straight up metal. I would start with When Destinies Align. Talk about insane guitar playing... pleeease???
Some solid suggestions here (especially REAL EXISTENCE - good Lord, I love that song) but I'd recommend ONSET (live). The vocalist Saiki sits this one out and lets the rest of the ladies - Kanami (lead guitar), MISA (bass), Akane (drums) and Miku (guitar) - absolutely decimate the arena. You will NOT be disappointed, I promise!

It could be the language barrier or maybe it's the pop-ish style of the vocals...dunno for sure. I have a feeling they would be awesome to see live though...they really know how to rock out. The guitarists both shred with the best of them, the drummer kicks butt and that bassist is incredible (you should see her live performances)! OK, you've done Japanese all-girl rock, now how about Japanese all-girl metal? I've recommended Lovebites before and will happily do so again. They do all kinds of metal, from classic 80s style rock and metal, to thrash metal, Dragonforce-style power metal and proggy ballads, all sung totally in English. If you want an official music video, I'd recommend Rising, The Crusade (Official version, NOT UA-cam version) or Shadowmaker (although that one has a commercial a third of the way through), or if you'd like to see how they cut it live, I'd recommend Edge of the World (epic), The Hammer of Wrath (thrashy), Empty Daydream (80s), Holy War (power metal) or Epilogue (ballad). Avoid any live performances from Bloodstock, go for any from 2019 or 2020 in Tokyo, and enjoy.
