That opening shot with Jay getting that huge window cleaned is amazing , with the pool in background💯
Jay is the GOAT🐐
At 62, and training religiously for 40 years using high volume higher rep range to heavy weight lower rep range and less sets I feel best and motivated with sessions of 45-60 minutes 10-12 rep range and with enough weight to work hard in that rep range w moderate sets i.e chest, back, legs in 10-12 sets and smaller groups 6-9 set range hitting each part on a 5 day schedule - essentially 4 on 1 off and sessions at 45 -60 minutes max. Thanks Jay for all you do!
i love your peaceful voice and patience stories, nice neighbourhood! thank you for sharing your life with us
I spend 1.5 in the gym on the regular, it’s my church
I tend to remain imprisoned in the 70s and 80s. Although I appreciate the new eras, at 50, I will often 'refuge' in the nostalgia of my childhood and adolescence times. So, for your question about the best abs, my reflex is to go to the Frenchman Serge Nubret. I know, it's old but darn it, he can be seen as a pioneer of sorts. When it comes to training, as I get older, I realize that less is more. But there is a minimum limit not to be exceeded of course. If I go at least 3x week, I am able to maintain without losing too much. 4x week is ideal for me. Each muscle once a week. On the other hand, I cheat a little during each workout: when I'm ''finished'', I pump one or two muscles with two or three light sets, just to get a little blood flowing. Last of your points: your neighbors must now be used to seeing you walking in the street. ''Hey, look Marge, here's Jay talking his walk...'', ''Hey Nicole, did Jay film his walk yet?'', ''Hey Pete, the big blond dude is talkin' his walk again...'', ''Hey Norm, Jay is looking at our driveway again...'', that kind of thing. Some even have to watch the videos just to admire their houses... I imagine it's also reassuring to see a juggernaut ex-Mr Olympia keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood...
Another nice Jaywalk. These things are addictive.
Dude your house is nuts lol can't wait to meet you at the Arnold!
jay still living large proud of what he has become a real true legend.
I am getting older and I workout at home. I watch your videos for the inspiration, and I don't like to listen to a lot of music, or anything with ego, or stuff that is hardcore; and I love the vibe of the channel.
Jay the best as always you and Dave are the A Team!
Thank you
Quiet but kept - Jay, Dexter and Phil have always been sneaker heads. Jay was first I saw wearing the retro 11 and 9 MJ’s back in the day when training.
Next Jay walking should be the sneaker collection. 👟
45 min to an hour lifting,15 min cardio and I m out, back in the day I used to sit in sauna for 20 min afterwards.
Thanks for the walk and talk Jay and Dave (FTB) always bringing back great memories !!! SR.
Great conversation Jay! Appreciate the reminiscing. Brought back a lot of great memories! God bless brother!
SHAWN RAY UNFORTUNATELY. No on else had such straight, perfectly aligned abs that flowed in to his seratus and obliques as him. Even though I think he's a nob
Shawn was absolutely flawless (unfortunately)
Why “unfortunately” ? , we are critiquing/judging physiques, not personalities.
Say what you want about Shawn every time I met him he was a perfect gentleman, unlike some other Pro’s.
And yes his physique was damn near flawless.
Shawn Ray by far. Perfectly symmetrical abs with a tiny waist, plus the greatest serratus ever.
Jay is the greatest of all TIME.. Still Huge.. Still making lives.. Above all else; Still alive & Healthy..
Arnold is second for becoming Hollywood
Lee Priest had an 8-pack!!!
I'm in the gym 30 hours a week..but mainly because I work there ;)
Definitely brought back great memories from the good days
Favorite NOC - Nasser
Best abs - Zane
Time in gym - As long as it takes to be productive!
Paul Dillett look pretty crazy when he won Night of Champions!
👌💯Love the Jaywalks. I think your neighbours are watching and enjoying just like us. ✌️
Yep reading some old Arnold workouts,,, as he says,,, after my 44th set on Delts!! Lol😂
LOOK LIKE ADOPE WITH THOSE GLASSES
I workout for 2 plus hours 5 days a week on average. Every rep and weight range, athletic cardio and slow pace cardio. I also train abs 5 days a week. I try to do obliques one day and crunches the next. I do carb backloading (low during the week and high carbs duing the weekend) and that has helped me gain muscle and strength while cutting and I'm natural, it's just that effective.
Franco had an amazing mid section & Bertil too
Serge Nubret had a crazy routine and crazy abs. High volume was an understatement. Look it up
Love the spectacles 👓 🤓
I’ve spent 5 years as a serious training natural bodybuilder and I’m finally approaching what I feel is the ideal model for growth. As a novice, it was all about emulating Arnold and doing high volume training with tons of superfluous volume and cardio. I got an impressive look, but the strength plateaued. I then didn’t want to accept that Mike mentzer was right, but started to lean more his way toward high intensity, low volume training. I opted for a model similar to where Dorian Yates ended.. somewhere in between. Less is definitely more. I’m running a 4 day split with the muscles divided in a sensible way that allows me to bring high intensity to each large muscle group before fatigue sets in. 4 on one off with the off being light cardio is the answer. It allows for the ideal recovery time but also keeps the body secreting hormones continuously for growth which is essential to a success as a natural. With this model, I’m confident I’ll create a world class physique. I’ll never have the sheer size of people on gear, but I can achieve phenomenal quality and aesthetics.
Edit: I wanted to go into sets and numbers a bit. 3-5 heavy compounds sets on the muscle group. Heavy compounds done using 4-8 rep sets to failure. Then 3-5 sets accessories sets to failure 8-12 reps.
For instance, chest day, flat bench 315x4, then dips 340x6, then incline dumbbell 100x6. Then I’d Segway to accessories. French press, cable push downs, then pec flies 8-12. After that, chest is done. I can get away with 45-1:15 in the gym with this method. And look.. if it works naturally.. the system works. This took me from plateau at 315 to 370 bench. Still growing and learning!
Agreed as a natural I’ve experimented with different training styles but most recently have moved into a low volume, high intensity split only with 1 or 2 working sets per exercise taking them to failure and have seen my best results. I go with a 3 on 1 off, 2 on 1 off split to split my leg day into two sessions to focus on quads more day and hammies the other since legs have been my main area that lacks development, which was my own fault early on not training them the right way or near enough lol.
@@Bubs58 that’s what I’m doing as well with the 2 sets which was inspired by Yates. The first set is moderate difficulty, then the second is gun to your head failure.
Jaywalking my fav!❤🎉
I'm 48 now and do an incline walk 6 days a week (30 minute walks) and another 20-30 minutes lifting with the rest periods included. It is more about the contraction at this point and my first priority is being careful not to injure myself. Ahmad "Abzilla" Haider gets my vote for the best abs. He had an overall fantastic physique.
Dig the specs Jay. Safe travels.
2 hours working out plus 40 cardio…
Thanks Jay.😎✌💪
Legs takes me the longest in the gym. With Cardio it’s an hour and a half.
No bigs - rich guy sunglasses
???
Love it bro 🎥🚶♀️💪💪👀
What up from boston🤙🏻
I was just there.
@@JayCutlerTV I bet you must of had some divine clam chowder right? 😊
I try to watch as many episodes of Jay Walking as I can. Content is always interesting and informative. Hey, remember that there are followers out here that are from an earlier time. All of the French bodybuilders you named are fantastic. I thought it was were known that the best abdominal development belonged to Zabo Koszewski. The silver era of bodybuilding had many people who had great abdominal development. Vince Gironda also had great abdominal development. Thanks for the posting.
Dexter Jackson crazy Abs
40-45 min, plus 15 min cardio
Right out of the gate…” your car is clean” 😂😂
My training averages 1 1/2 hours, but that includes 20 minutes on the T-mill post weight lifting.
GREAT NY Night of Champions Hero-Markus Rühl.😎✌💪Monster win.
I usually aim to get more than 20 sets per body part with a maximum of 40 minutes lifting. I go fast not much rest between sets.
Love all your videos...workouts, Jay Walking...all of them. Question: Did you ever take a week off from training, and if so, what did you do? I've read and seen fitness people mention taking a week of every 12-14 weeks.
We just got the osmo pocket 3
Good video Jay
I strength train at home for a hour and rest about 2 minutes between sets. I do walking for cardio at a different time .
Its probably good to cycle the volume and intensity. When trying to make progress it seems the more work the better. A minimalist approach seems to be helpful for longevity. There are also mini cycles and macro cycles(Ronnie Coleman was taking 3 months off after the Olympia competitions). I can remember changing up the volume every few weeks to make progress.
At 36, I find that the key is more cardio volume, less weights voilume. As a kid it was the opposite. 45-60mins cardio, 20-30mins per bodypart.
I'm 37, and I've come to that came conclusion. Plus I have more rest days in between lifts, too. However, I'll do some cardio daily.
The key for what exactly?😂 it all depends on your goals mate. If you want more muscle you need to hit the weights! If your goal is to get healthier and burn some calories jump on the treadmill
@@Lewissummerson Exactly lol they made it sound like they aren't still young. I'm a few years younger than them and am doing more volume than ever and I've always done a lot.
This is so not true. Volume is everything unless you're going for powerlifting max lifts. 5-6 days a week high volume. I'm 37
Jay, I like your eyeglasses, nice frame... they'
re large, they fit your face good, you look kinda like Drew Carey, the host of The Price Is Right gameshow!
Thank you
I’m 31, eat 5x, 30min jog, 30-45min weights, EZ abs
I think Ahmed Haider had the best abs of all time.perfect 6 packs
Jason Jay💯💪Scrappy🤎🤎1:50min
I feel like your right on being in and out of the gym it just can work out that way too but for me sometimes I can get a workout in 40 -50 minutes topes because I recover quickly but at times 1 hour 30 minutes but its all in your mind and how your approach to the gym is every time and Jay way can definitely work.
to be in good shape weights for one hour max. diet does the rest. not a cardio fan - so I play pickleball 😎
Good to see you both! 4 times Mr. Olympia, and several 2 nd place against maybe the hardest opponent ever.....and FTB Big Dave!!
Serge Nubret from the golden era in my opinion had great abbs ..,. 45mins Chest and Tri's today great pump.
35-40 minutes in the gym. Normally do 3 sets of about 7 or 8 exercises, whole body, training one specific part, e.g. legs: squats, hamstrings: lying curls...biceps: one type of curl,...back: a row or pull down or chin up. Basically whatever I feel like doing or what is available if it's busy. Just maintenance basically
Jay also I watched a video from 4 years ago you and Dave out shopping at Walmart. You guys just killed it. You may ask why shopping for groceries and other stuff. Or why Jaywalking. But look at it this way. Rod Stewart added Maggie May to his album as a last minute add in they expected nothing. It became his first smash hit. Stewart says that if he hadn’t added it we might have never known who Rod Stewart was …
👑 06 👑 07 👑 09 👑 10
I try to do a minimum of 30 min cardio and no longer than an hour lifting. Been crossing bodybuilding and CrossFit workouts.
At 58..i train 45 mints/day and 15 mints of cardio.
25 to 30 mins per body part. 45 mins cardio daily separate session
Bill Grant....my secret for abs: 6-8 tiny meals throughout the day kick my metabolism into high gear, in fact, the food I eat contributes to abs much more than the actual various stomach exercises
At 69 the most time in the gym one hour
50 minutes working and 30 in sauna
Good show FTBB and 4x, keep them coming. Johnny G Destin FLorida
if the answer isn't Ryan Terry...
true... i was thinking bodybuilding tho...

Keep it up. Thomas.🐕
90 mins for two body parts seems pretty standard, not including cardio
