It's rare that a vocalist will do a studio recording (or even a live performance) without at least reverb and delay. In the studio, compression is standard as well.

First time actually listening to John, though I was peripherally aware of him as a guitarist. Anyway, beautiful tone and plenty of technique, I'd love to hear more of this type of playing. The vocals don't really seem to fit the vibe, to me.
I love and respect both these artists… but apparently people will praise anything these days if there is a big name behind it. Mustaine’s vocals in this are garbage… if I produced this I’d have pulled them first thing… sad cause they could have done something really cool… Dave has a great iconic voice… this sure the hell ain’t it .
