One of the best high schools in China doesn't mean it has the best equipments and conditions. It only means students there have the best grades and probably the school got really good education resources. So there're literally many schools that look better and are equipped better

Exactly. Schools in China are completely different from many western counties. In China the best schools usually employ the best teachers and get the best students enrolled. Schools with good campus and equipment are usually private schools, they are usually considered not as good because of lack of academic resources. In the west private schools are usually good ones.
@@runqianliu1295 not entirely, it's case by case. my sixth form in the UK is one of the highest performing in the country and the 'campus' (it's not a campus there's only 1000 students so it's small) had £12M spent on building a whole new modern building. I guess you could argue older schools are better and don't look as well kept because they're older. Private schools here tend to vary a lot too, some are amazing and others are average and the same as state schools.
I don't think it is best school in china. It even isn't better then my high school 30 years ago in China. It is just a normal one.

But does the current government do well enough? To an extent, a lot of us do complain about policies and especially regarding the freedom of speech and the use of limited internet. However, the Chinese people in Hong Kong (as you said, they are also Chinese) are ruled over by their own Hong Kong Chinese governors, and they do live in a slightly different lifestyle due to the consideration of them being used to the western culture since Hong Kong returned in 1997. But does that mean they are not Chinese and should be separated into a different country? I personally do think it is similar to Montreal trying to be independent of Canada or that maybe one day Hawaii decided they want to live in a country called Hawaii and not the United States. If it was a peaceful strike against the limitation of freedom, I would 100% stand with them. My 6 years of education here in Canada do not think violent march on the street and attacking innocent tourists should be the way to express themselves. And again, some of the protesters wave the English flag and saying Hong Kong is not a part of China would be a completely different argument.

Canadian high school hours are 9am to 3pm, 3 morning classes, 15 minutes of homeroom for attendance check, 45 minutes of lunch, 3 afternoon classes.
Most Chinese high schools have very long school hours. The ones in Beijing are atypical. My high school in Shenyang starts at 7am, 5 morning classes , 1 hour 15 minutes lunch break when we could take a nap. 4 afternoon classes. Then it varies. You can go home at 4:30 pm if you are in Year 10, 6 pm for Year 11, and 9 pm for Year 12 students, and for Year 12 students, we go to school 6.5 days per week. Only Sunday afternoon is free but we still have homework to do. I can still remember that crazy year when I rode my bike home at night and when the temperature dropped to -20 degree and I was singing aloud while riding in the snow.
Not true canada has different hours in different provinces, in alberta my school was 8 am to 4 and just 45 minutes for lunch, you must have gone to a school for the disabled

I hated the amount of school work we had to do (especially like hours upon hours for 1st-4th grade me! I moved to another country afterwards) but my school had pretty good facilities so sometimes I miss when we would perform choir and orchestra... some of us (including me) got picked to go to one of the big youth choirs (I think in Chinese it was something along the lines of 上海少年宫合唱团), and that was the best part about school. and maybe also our really cool PE teacher. and the uniforms. but yeah everything else mainly sucked...

Chinese school uniform looks weird just because we're not used to it. It's actually comfy af. And once you start watching films like go brother! Or series like a love so beautiful, you'll want to wear that too lol at least for me it looks cool

We also have limited access to the internet in Iran. It's better than China because Instagram and a lot of websites are not banned here but a lot of platforms are only accessible through VPN.

Some comments really break my heart for how they describe my people. It’s full of arrogance and prejudice. It’s the cheapest way of doing terrorism, spreading hatred and without killing. Do you guys not have sympathy? Yes these people live in a communism country, which has different educational system, different culture and different political environment. Stop feeling you are better or of higher hierarchy in this racism bubble. These students and staffs and workers are all people, just the same as you and me. @@foxkujo9684 I am was in a Chinese high school last year, and I played the flute everyday. We also have so many electives every week. It is not like what you said that we have no free time. Gaokao which is the college entrance exam greatly reduces the gap between the rich and poor and allows even the poorest kids to go to our best universities. Chinese government is sometimes really strict, but it is not as dark as what western media portrays it. It is not your fault to have these misconceptions. We should blame media. Fake News, quoting President Trump.

I watched this video 2 years ago. Watching and learning about this dudes experience really brought into focus the idea of exchange to study abroad. I did my research and many hours and months later I'm proud to say that I have found and been accepted into a youth exchange program called Rotary and will be studying abroad 2022-2023. Haven't been told where I'm going but I'm sure I'll be ready for it. I hope to come back to this comment some time in the future and write about my experiences. Although it may be just me reading it, it's I a nice memory I'll have for myself.

I'm kinda jealous of their uniform. It looks super comfy and not as restrictive as skirts.
Literally I was bored and I searched "Chinese" then I found this vedio. It is really suprising that it is actually my previous school when I was in China. I am now studying abroad but I miss this school so much. It is a really nice school in terms of nice environment and great relationships between people. It's like my second home. I have got my best friends, my pecious memories, and my first love here. By the way, the west bloc is new and very clean and modern, you may go there and have a look as well! All in all, welcome to 北京师大附中 and hope you enjoy your life there!

i believed there are bus tracking systems since so many years ago, just the ETA would not be shown on some screen in the bus stop, but there do provide some apps that allow you to check the bus ETA, maybe you can ask for your friends and download the app so u don't hv to just wait.. like that

I attended a high school in Taiwan many years ago and I remember that all the dorms, except for the dorms for foreign students, had squats like those. We had toilets, for which I was both grateful and also resentful. I didn't like being segregated from the other students and thought it was unequal.

You should look into the specifics of whatever schools are in the are in the area that you move back into. These are not always universal experiences, and you should keep in mind that some schools are much worse. For example, my cousin’s school goes from around 8 to 9 in the evening. Also, extra-curriculars are virtually non-existent and summer school is (practically) mandatory. Note that this is in the northern provinces of China, so always tailor your expectations based on where the school is. I hope you do well in the future!

Wow your Chinese is good for having only been in China for 10 months! I never had the chance to attend middle or high school in China, seems like such an unique experience. This video made me miss China, I haven't been there in four years, hopefully I can visit again soon!
