    A hernia surgery can also make the patient have more pain and discomfort than they had before having surgery. Ask me how I know. There is a big risk of a nerve being cut that will cause numbness and later pain after the numbness goes away. This is pain that will never go away.

    • @bruzote
      @bruzote Рік тому +9

      Sorry to hear that. Let's be honest, though. The risk is not statistically big. It is quite small. On the other hand, the consequences for the unlucky ones like you can be quite big and bad indeed. I get it. I am truly sorry for your pain. I have multiple chronic pain issues that hurt and also limit my life. I frequently feel like I can't take any more problems like a bad surgical outcome. So I postponed my own surgery. But I did it and so far, I'm good. I understand that does not help you. My sympathies.
      Hopefully, the rapid advances in medical technology will lead to an effective remedy for your predicament soon. Hang in there!

    I just had the desarda method of no mesh and had it done at the U First Health in Ft Myres. Fl.. I would highly recommend it because they use your own muscle to build a wall instead of mesh and they also use absorb-able thread is the only way I know how to say it,, That dissolves over time.. So there is nothing foreign in your body. The clinic has the pain down to a minimal and the whole overall procedure is like a science to them they done 3,000 with almost a 100 percent success rate.. The mesh or the Ly[roscopic cant compete to that....

      I wonder that I get lower back pains is it because of the way I sit in the bed and also does that cause hernia as well?

    My main symptom is not a bulge, but a burning pain that goes away when I sit or, better still, lie flat. This is the case now with my right side inguinal hernia. It was the same symptom before I had the left side repaired, open with mesh, 7 years ago. I am now waiting for surgery on the right, but the health service in Britain has been overwhelmed due to COVID-19.

      Hey..my situation is same.i have burning and pain in left lower abdomen..doctor said its inguinal hernia..usg report say bilateral inguinal hernias of 1.2 cm..I'm wondering if this small hernia causes this amount of pain..
      How big was your hernia..did you feel better after surgery ?

    • @SuperLittleTyke
      @SuperLittleTyke Рік тому +1

      @@sampatk4948 Yes, an inguinal hernia _is_ painful. I can't speak to 1cm to 2cm, but the consultant I first saw for my left side, now eight or nine years ago, said my hernia was quite advanced. Bummer that you appear to have both sides simultaneously, but apparently not unusual. You can search on UA-cam and find a lot of patients' experiences, most of which may help you to dispel any worries. You will almost certainly feel a lot better after surgery, though recovery will be long and arduous in that you have to watch yourself constantly _not_ to be lifting anything moderately heavy for several weeks or engaging in physical exercise, although lots of walking is highly recommended. I don't know where you're based, but cost can be a factor in some countries. Here in the UK all surgeries and follow-up aftercare are free of any charge. Patients under the age of 60 have to pay a relatively small token fee for medications, but once over 60 they are free as well. Good luck!

I am contemplating open surgery without mesh and with a mesh. There are many feedbacks from people who repaired with mesh surferring permanent chronic pain. In your opinion, what are the things the surgeon should not do and should do in order to avoid letting his patient get permanent chronic pain when repair with mesh? If yourself needed an inguinal hernia repair (about three months hernia) would you go for mesh or without mesh? Please kindly advise us I believe many people around the world will benefit from your opinion.

      I reviewed Dr. Desarda's technique. This method may not be trained to western doctors? I like the idea of no foreign mesh being sutured in my body. What is the success rate of Desarda's method? Could the hernia reoccur? He didn't mention. There's probably not much kickback in a piece of mesh. You just pay for it as part of the procedure.. Also, it looks like they had huge slice in the abdomen. The mesh method requires a 2or 3 inch cut. So I'm told. My father had hernia surgery in the 1970s without the mesh, and the hernia returned.. bummer..

Today she was told the same answer, but they've scheduled an ultrasound 1 week and 3 days from now, and a visit with a surgeon 5 days later. It took me 3 minutes to find this info - I'm REALLY worried that IF she indeed has an inguinal hernia, we'll be on week 4 or 5 by the time she sees this surgeon. I came across your post/question and I have exact same thing. Just had ultrasound yesterday to follow up on hernia I've known I've had for two years. I've had issues with feeling tired, sweats etc which led to a repeat ultrasound. On my first ultrasound 2 years ago they didn't notice hernia..just enlarged lymph nodes. A month after that I started seeing a buldge in groin which brought me to a hernia dr who upon physical diagnosed it as hernia. I always wondered why my lymph nodes were enlarged but kinda just left it and forgot about it..I carried on with a buldge for 2 years knowing it was hernia .After recent ultrasound I found out she had trouble seeing hernia on ultrasound, but finally did. What she seen was my lymph node right where buldge is which was bigger than hernia so I feel this whole time the buldge has been my lymph node and not hernia.. I have no clue what's going on, have follow up in a week but I don't want this to get pushed under rug as now I feel it's cause for concern. Hope we get answers!

    yeah, let's identify the 'factors inhibiting that'. Hernia mesh that folds back together, basically collapsing the integrity of the mesh. It causes migration (moves around inside) resulting , in my case, UNBELEIVABLE SEVERE, HORRIFIC P A I N, FISTULAS, a deformation of the colon, spermatic cord interference, all the resulting negative life-altering events. Oh, and since none of it is visible upon exterior exam, will have medical staff, family members, etc... to basically not take your cries for help seriously, while everyone scratches their ignorant heads... feels like a 10 hour ride on a hellish entanglement of SHARP_EDGED, plastic screen, making you feel, like, castrated!ALMOST DAILY- !it has been 1 and a 1/2 YEARS!!! after surgery. I heard not all the mesh is defective, just certain brands... Thank you , Brandon
