Great information, thank you. I have a left direct inguinal hernia, for one year.. Now it has grown, become painful, and dropped down into my scrotum. how serious is this ? Glad I subscribed.
You could grow a mesh with stem cells, even contour the bed then have nodes pocking up so when you peel it off the bed its a mesh. It could be collagen, im prity sure stem cells can grow collagin ,getting it liner will be the hard bit. It would help the economy.
Exactly. It happened to me and it’s a nightmare. Forget their ‘recurrence’ obsession. Mesh is a ticking time bomb. It can rip and erode even 5 years after or later.
Please don't be. I stayed an extra year trying to cope with my hernia. I eventually had the surgery. I didn't even have pain after and didn't need pain meds. I felt so good that I ask my Dr. For permission to hug him in my 1 week visit after. Coney Island hospital for me is the best.
@@aleciawimer8506 So kind of you to ask. Yes I am. Like it is said all of our bodies react differently and I am keeping my fingers crossed , fixing my eating habits (not always successful) but making an effort and so far so great. Thank You
I have the mesh on my umbilical hernia 1995 next to it like one inch i now have a hernia. CT scan after 2 days of massive insane pain after i ate lasting for hour or more i went yo ER they see the hernia but cannot tell me if the mesh us torn how would we know this hernia is next to my belly button would they have to wait to open me up to see if my mesh has torn or if its a new hernia i mesh its less than 1/4 of an inch next to my belly button ??? Its so painful i thought i was about to die or i had a strangulated hernia. Until i laid down flat on my back it finally stopped the pain. Uf i eat again it happens again. It was pain like ive never felt. Im used to chronic pain
Shouldice hospital is outside Toronto in Canada . I'm also hearing about more surgeons doing hernia repairs with the shouldice technique in the US. I think there's a guy in long island who does it .

This should absolutely be fixed. Please find a local surgeon and get a consultation. Good luck, and thank you for the subscription
@@RichHilsden Thanks, I go to Miami Hernia Center. Tuesday for exam.
A product which works for "some of the people, some of the time", should never be the first option... especially when outcomes can be debilitating.
The mesh is so thin nowadays they won't Allow you to touch it cause it's that easy to rip in half.
@@AllenArmel the thin mesh can fold more easily when inside you which is a really bad thing
Great video, are you on the east coast or west coast,
I am on the east coast... Canadian actually, very close to the Detroit Windsor boarder

I can see the mess would be stronger if your body didn’t reject it and if it does it’s a mess for rest of your life with pain and suffering
I best he got paid good

Im terrified of getting the mesh, ill wear the trust apparatus indefinitely 😢

Would an inguinal hernia cause or aggravate varicocele? Also is it true an inguinal hernia would cause pelvic pain?
Now am scared. I have mesh hernia surgery next week and i am not sure of that mesh
I had 2 inguinal hernias. One on the left and then one on the right. My surgeon used the Bissani method. I think the defects were small.

DO I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT TO HAVE HERNIA SURGERY?
No. I'm about to have one I'm a bit overweight
If you can lose weight . You will have a better outcome . Don't get mesh. Get a shouldice repair or another no mesh repair

Don’t do mesh it’s barbaric
More "barbaric" than a 10X increased risk you'll be back in the operating room again with a stitched only repair?
