That just happened to me but with my bed frame. I always move a lot when I’m restless and stuff before bed and my bed frame tends to move, but I was drifting off to sleep when I imagined myself in my car fighting off something I think was choking me or pushing me into my steering wheel, but when I was starting to gain consciousness I thought I was hearing my bedfrsme smacking against the wall and it was so REAL AND VIVID. I was really freaked out cause everyone is saying it’s demons or something but I’m trying to find a logical answer here, and I’ve come to the conclusion that my sleep patterns are just terrible

I have primary idiopathic hypersomnia, my mom used to ground me for sleeping to much or I would get bad grades because of falling asleep in class... then they thought that since it happened often it could have been something medical, they thought it was narcolepsy, but the test came out negative and I got bullied, grounded, yelled at, until finally the doctors realized that I had idiopathic hypersomnia... they didn’t do anything, just tried helping me cure it

Ik this was a year ago so apologize but I've had a bit of the same problems as you! Everyday I used to fall asleep all throughout my school years! It died down a little in hs but I STILL fell asleep regardless and it was never something anyone worried about. Just thought that I was a very sleepy girl who got little to no sleep. And unfortunately I myself didn't take it seriously, just hated the fact that I would fall asleep in class or basically anywhere. I've literally fallen asleep while running once 🤣 I've also fallen asleep while I was at a vacation place with my grandma and in her words she caught me and I slept on a bench. I've never felt like this was a problem until my grandma said I might've had narcolepsy. I had no idea what that was and that's what got me to finally think I had a problem. Anyways sorry for the rant but I can relate to you with the sleeping problem, and I'm sorry no one ever took it seriously but I'm glad you were properly diagnosed.

Sometimes in my REM phase, when I'm still not completely sleeping, I would just jump in bed as if there was something scaring me, but in reality there's no external stimulation or internal feeling rationally explaining this phenomenon. I just perceive this as a rather negative thing because I actually awake feeling either surprised, confused or anxious.
It happens at random intervals (few times a year though) and in either good or bad health conditions. I would be curious to just know what it actually is.
In addition I also have difficulty catching sleep and my rest usually lasts 4 to 5 hours a night, with a good sleep quality thankfully.

Okay when I try to sleep I takes me 2-3 hour to prepare, when I think I’m ready I lay down and try to fall asleep but right when I am falling asleep I immediately get shocked with fear and jump up out of bed, my body feels numb sometimes I’m sweaty, this happens at least 20 to 30 times before I actually fall asleep. Honestly I would say it probably takes me about 4 hours to actually fall asleep, The only times that I actually can sleep well, is if I have too much to drink, and have taken sleeping medication on top of that. Pretty much knocking myself the fuck out, i’ll take about three Benadryl, and I’ll be drunk. Only then can I actually sleep in peace

I think I do act out my dreams a bit sometimes too, as I have memories where a part of me is awake while it happens; thankfully never in a violent way / I've never actually gotten out of bed and done anything messed up. i also half wake up sometimes and am in an altered state of consciousness, it is marvellous when that happens as it is so euphoric and trippy, I don't know what that is called.

      Had that happen
Just the other morning I felt myself get up not realizing I kept my eyes closed and felt my way around and when I opened them I saw my cat in front of me and I was back in bed
This went on a few times until I was pissed I tried the door and I could see with my eyes open at this point and BAM back in bed finally able to get up for real
Not false awakenings just really annoying sensations of getting out of bed only to find yourself still in bed unable to move but being able to move with you’re eyes closed by feeling
I think it was unintentional astral projection honestly

Ok so I have bad insomnia. Sometimes if I stare at the ceiling long enough I can have like this out of body experience where its like I looking down at myself from the ceiling. But what I want to know is why my dreams are so vivid. I can see colors, smell, taste, feel temperatures, textures, and pain. But I also want to know why sometimes I fall or get in a crash or get hit by a car or get crushed in a dream and not immediately wake up. I watch myself get hurt. I feels so real and it's so scary. Some nights I get sleep paralysis. Lately that paralysis has lasted anywhere from 15-35 minutes. I'm so tired but I hate sleeping. At this point I always have to have some kind of light on. I don't have sleep paralysis, but I get something that's similar except its not always scary and i can move and think its real. First time it happened was back when I share a bed with my sister and she was playing her DS in the middle of the night while I was asleep with a dim light on. I woke up naturally in my when I saw 3 large spiders next to me on the bed with one of them crawling up may sisters leg and another going towards her in think. I freaked out screaming spider 3 times in spanish scaring my sister off the bed. She asked what's wrong and i said that there was 3 spiders and one was on her leg. She got scared but there was no spider. I told her to check the bed and there is none either. She said that i was just dreaming but I insisted that i saw it because in order to see it in a dream, I need to be asleep with my eyes closed and not have woken up to the exact same setting and surrounding flawlessly. Its like a hallucination and the spiders were just added into the real world in my point of view. She convinced me that there definitely was no spider and that i may be dreaming because though I know spanish, I would never say spider 3 times in spanish. My behavior was in fact odd.
Second time involved something not scary. I'm in my own room and my mom was sharing the bed with me for the night when I woke up seeing and feeling a black and white tuxedo cat on my bed. I got rather happy and said "kitty!" In a high pitch baby voice like I do whenever I see a cat in the street or talk to my cats. My mom woke up confused and i pointed at the cat saying they same thing again with the same tone. She told me that I was talking in my sleep but I insisted that im awake and that I see a cat and sat up to go pet it when it suddenly disappeared. I was confused and insisted that I saw a cat and not making it up but she still tells me that im talking in my sleep and dreaming. On top of that, our cats are outside and not one of them are black and white or that small. In the morning she told me how I was talking in my sleep and i lit up going like "I was not sleep talking and I did see a cat." At that point I do believe that I have been getting hallucinations but I don't know what they are.
The 3rd time it happened was recent. I was sleeping alone in my room when I decided that the night is cool enough to not sleep on the wrong end of the bed where the fan can reach. I went to bed and a few minutes later I saw a daddy long leg crawling down over my head. I didn't jump but I did get freaked out a bit and got up to see where the spider was. Its gone and its definitely not on me as i cant feel it. I thought it was real so i decided to sleep on the wrong side for the night to avoid the thing from getting on my face. Days later I believed that I hallucinated because there is no way that the spider could have disappeared when it was that close to my face without feeling the web or seeing it get on the pillow when I moved out of the way.
Can anyone tell me what this is?

I think I had head exploding syndrome during online school. I wasn’t getting enough sleep so I would take naps in my bed after finishing classes. I can’t even describe what the feeling was like, like it was a loud noise and it made the inside of my head rattle. It was all in my head and it would repeat until I got out of bed. I was so scared to sleep so I had to wait it out. I haven’t gone through the feeling after school ended, but recently I sensed it coming and it made me paranoid that I couldn’t sleep. I’ve also been going through sleep paralysis frequently and it’s probably cause I sleep on my back or in a weird position that makes my body feel like it’s sinking in and can’t move. And recently I was on a road trip and when I slept my head would tilt to the right and I would have sleep paralysis in my dreams. Even when my family was talking in the background, my dream silenced everyone on the outside and when I was trying to move to wake up my whole dream turned black so it was just me trying to nudge myself to wake up.

I’ve had sleep paralysis it’s freaking hell but I’ve never had the crushing or chocking sensations once I felt like my face was covered (it was my face was into my bed) but I couldn’t move to get more air 😒
It’s worse when it starts in a dream setting only to draw out into me actually waking up sometimes with me needing to piss or I’m thirsty as hell so I have to sit there until it wears off it’s even teased me by partially letting up only to repeat 50+ times over half an hour until I can actually move again combined with hallucinations and uncontrolled body movements like violent repetitive head jerking and facial twitching which was happening I was conscious I caught it on tape not dreaming that part
I’ve been getting better sleep this hardly happens anymore but now I’m damn near nocturnal I’m getting sick of it but I think it’s DSPD so I can’t help it I haven’t been “sleepy” enough until sunrise almost consistently for months now but I do get decent sleep I just end up waking up anywhere between 3-6pm 😫 can fix it no going to bed earlier and “trying” can’t sleep if I’m not sleepy I can lay for hours tired and wanting to sleep but CAN’T get sleepy then sunrise hits BAM my body rapidly gets tired and I can fall asleep a couple hours after sunrise 😒
Waking up early so I’m tired ? Doesn’t end well I either sleep through an alarm or I’ll be PHYSICALLY so groggy sometimes physically ill I NEED more sleep to function (I don’t drink coffee tried it it’s nasty and I can’t do much caffeine because it gives me headaches) so I go back to sleep and end up waking up mid afternoon early evening and in winter I maybe get 1-2 hours of actual sun before sunset 😒😒
It’s getting worse and worse but I’m learning to live with it it’s just depressing literally being nocturnal damn near I do get pretty decent sleep it’s just at inconvenient times 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ive had an episode of what appears to be Klein Levine syndrome once every decade now for 5 decades but there is no one qualified to diagnose sleep disorders here.
I've had a couple hours of sleep paralysis but not significant. I have various sleep disorders.
I don't believe there's an actual disorder called "Sleep Groaning". lol
Sleep Related Eating disorder.. Fatal Familial Insomnia.. non-familial fatal insomnia... numerous sleep breathing disorders... severe apnea, obstructive or central.
Yes you can die from lack of sleep but often from heart attack, stroke or other chronic health issues that sleep disorders can cause if you can't find proper diagnosis or treatment.

The disorder Is similar to sleepwalking, but the affected child play the whole night (all the nights) So It Is likes sleepwalking but It lasts for as long as the child Is sleeping. And while in that state he appears happy and play. But It looks different. With empty eyes. There was a video and It was very impressive. I'd like to find a reference, anything to that. I cannot find anything on the web.

I know this is late but.. Is there a sleeping disorder where you don't feel tired until 2 am and when you try to sleep you just can't fall asleep? It takes me around two hours every night to fall asleep so, I've given up on trying and spend time on my phone until one am or two am, until i actually feel tired. Not even calming music helps.
Some would say because of the time i spend on my phone but I've had this problem before i even got my first electronic device which was when i was around eight!

Can anyone tell me what this is called as it doesn't seem to fit into any of the sleep disorders here but occasionally happens to me? It occurs when I have woken in the night and then try to go back to sleep. However, I don't think I am asleep and yet when I awake I realise that I was actually asleep and yet do not feel rested at all. I.e it must have been a very light sleep . During this light sleep period, I will have very vivid dreams that I can recall. However, again, while I am having these dreams it feels like I am not asleep at all and that I am living these dreams (as strange as they are.)

Well shit, it turns out I have catathrenia. I've been tracking my sleep with an app and you can listen to sounds it records. Interesting stuff but yeah it was like a year ago when I first tried out the app and that's what I heard. Groaning. And even before then, I've been told that I sound like a zombie when I sleep by my parents and sisters.
I was on a summer camp trip and I was so afraid to fall asleep every time because I knew that these mfs were going to be frightened by me. Eventually I decided "fuck it" and got my full hours of sleep, but sure enough someone one morning was saying that they heard someone groaning during the night and I immediately knew that was me.
This sucks. At least I know what it's called and I can treat it.
