  • The Pint S is advertised with a 20mph top speed, but pushback happens at 17mph and haptic buzz happens at 18mph.
    Future Motion says:
“In Pacific, Elevated, and Skyline, you will begin to feel pushback at around 17 mph and pushback will continue as you draw nearer to the top speed of 20 mph. Pushback begins around 17 mph, not 20 mph, because it is an advance warning that you are nearing the top speed. Accelerating from 17 mph to 20 mph can be accomplished quickly, so it is important that pushback begins at 17 mph. You will also feel pushback at lower speeds if you are accelerating too quickly. It is possible to try and accelerate too quickly by leaning forward too quickly for the motor to catch up.
It is key to understand that you can push through pushback. We do not recommend pushing past pushback because by continuing to lean forward and accelerate, you can essentially ask the board to go faster than it can manage. When this occurs, there is little power left to maintain balance and stability. In order to avoid a loss of control, we suggest that riders ease up when they are experiencing pushback.
Ultimately, Onewheeling is a board sport and, as with all sports, there are limits and there are riders that like to push the limits. Some riders will ride or try to ride at speeds near or above 20 mph. When doing this, you are playing with the board's limits. This is why we do not recommend pushing past pushback.
That said, there are Onewheelers who successfully ride at 20 mph and beyond. They have taken the time and effort to learn and understand pushback and general Onewheel operation. With time and practice, riders are able to feel more comfortable pushing the board and themselves harder. There is always more to learn with Onewheeling and no limit to improvement!”
“Haptic Buzz is a part of pushback and triggers when pushback does, I understand it can be difficult to get used to or is not what you had been expecting but that is how all of our boards operate. At this time I do not believe we are expecting to make any changes to how the haptic buzz operates but if we do we will make an announcement. Thank you for your understanding and I hope the more you ride the PintS the more you enjoy it!”
