I think it comes down to the tiny wheels having more torque. Am currently building my own 10 inch wheeled 5000w dual motored e bike. It's loosely based on a 14 '' wheel DYU bike , but 10 inch longer for stability, lower handlebars, and twin 2500w hub motor wheels!
Brother, I've wondered the same thing since I got into E-bikes.....I don't get it either lol... weight is one big element..but scooters just have stupid power because I don't think they're regulated.... Bikes are a gray area I guess.... there's guidelines for bikes in a way with class 1, 2, and 3..so bike manufacturers try to adhere to those... whereas there's no rules for scooters that I'm aware of so just say fuk it and go balls to the wall
@@miles-x4u maybe the spokes can't hold so much power? But for these we have a stealth bomber clones with 4-12 kw motor wheels. They cost about 3-5k $, but nothing more as an alternative.
I think the main factor is that it's easier to build a massive battery into the deck of the scooter, whereas a bike it's harder to build a big battery into the frame. Plus scooters are just generally much more wild west because they're newer and less likely to be regulated.
They can advertise 75, but the only time I ever care about big power is going up hills, or needing to get away from cars. Other than that, I prefer cruising at around 25-30

If you could recommend just three scooter for 6'4" and up, which would you recommend for 1. Budget 2. Performance 3. Luxory I kept speed out of this because i think anything over 35mph is unnecessary.
I wanna say once you start going over 35/40mph which doesn’t sound fast but feels super fast on a scooter , even 25mph feels really fast . I had a hiboy and when I first hit 25mph I was surprised how fast it felt , it honestly depends on the suspension and quality of your scooter because 30mph can be “uneasy” if you feel every bump bcs of shitty suspension. It’s all purely opinion so in my opinion anything over 35mph starts to feel uneasy but still very enjoyable
This thing would probably be more ideal than most motorcycles for most people. $1,000 though is a lot for people to commit to, if they don’t know how fun it is. You showed that through this video. You might not know this because you don't do as many scooters as e bikes, but many higher powered e scooters have off road tires because they're thicker and protect the tubes from sidewall pinch flats that you can get from hitting a pothole at speed.
Also they do better on transitions from grass to sand to pavement and real world crumbling infrastructure. (potholes ect) If you get street tires be very careful in grass. You'll get very little traction.
4:50 the damper is there for a reason. The "trail" on scooters is atrocious. Trail, is the tendency of a two wheeled vehicle to want to go straight, or follow a straight path. It depends on the size of the wheel and the "rake" angle. Both are horrible on a scooter. Long-story-short, scooters are a death-trap that will get a rider into a death-wobble above a certain speed.
