Onewheel Pint S Review | 18mph Haptic Buzz Top Speed
Переглядів 4,3 тис.Місяць тому
The Pint S is advertised with a 20mph top speed, but pushback happens at 17mph and haptic buzz happens at 18mph. Future Motion says: “In Pacific, Elevated, and Skyline, you will begin to feel pushback at around 17 mph and pushback will continue as you draw nearer to the top speed of 20 mph. Pushback begins around 17 mph, not 20 mph, because it is an advance warning that you are nearing the top ...

Onewheel Land-Surfing the Grassy On-Shore Waves
Looking at the price on the GTS and thinking if i have to spend that kind of cheese i might as well gut an Electric unicycle insted of a second onewheel
False advertising. Sue them
Hi Jeff. Awesome looking compact setup you've got here. Is the CQ mixer mounted in the back? Also, what is that splitter? Looks very tidy. Is it custom-made? How are you powering everything?
@@samnzdrum Yes, the CQ20b is mounted in the back, and I never need to take off the back lid. The panel is custom. Furman power strip inside.
VESC it! I have a pint X with the updated firmware. Can’t ride past 18mph. The pint S is a gimmick with no real S upgrades. No S motor, no S battery, no S controller. My VESC Pint X reaches 27.5mph no problem.
AGREE, I was gonna buy one as i have original pint and was looking forward to 20 mph but i wont buy it now! It says 20 I want 20 PERIOD!
Everyone keep adament on them changing the limits of the board. Change the FIRMWARE so it does hit 20 comfortably. Thats the point of the board. Do right by your fans and customers FM. Make it right
How does pushback compare to the XR? I have an aging XR that I’ve had to replace the Bms twice on. Was thinking of replacing it as my secondary board.
I’ve gone 20.8 on my pint s. First time rider only a month in. I agree with the majority of riders and the pushback does start early, but keep pushing into it going downhill on some dirt and you’ll reach top speeds! Always wear a helmet and pads. Wrist guards too lol
You weigh 100lbs?
@@mlastudioproductions 135Lbs
@@MrMiggenz 195lbs here but either way it’s false advertising when other boards don’t pushback until advertisied speed.
Same thing happened to me too! It’s really upsetting. I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s upset about the advertising. I got the same bull crap response. Maybe we could all push them to have their next podcast about how dumb this was.
I purchased that board as my first one wheel , so far I’m enjoying it
I can’t ride this board after getting a GT-S Rally Edition.
Aspen next
That’s super lame. Thanks for sharing.
MAKE A DISPUTE WITH THE BANK. At least put up a fight and don’t let the deceptive company get away with this. They built nice products but have decided to be complete assholes in their business practices. Literally. They sent me scratched rail guards and they literally took a black marker to try to cover it up. I called them and they just told me that “we don’t use sharpies to cover up scuffs.” When I told her that that was a fallacy and there’s no way that she can know all of the other employees are doing, she just hung up on me.
And future motion wonders why people building vescs.
Yes I have one and it stops at 17
Same thing with the pint x. I had a buddy face plant trying to hit 18mph on mine. Never made it past 17mph
Pint V kit delivers. This is Fm’s (sad) attempt to to compete with FloatWheel/pint v kit. I’m telling ya, pint v kit is the way. Full unlock.
Once you VESC you’ll never go back to FM. UBOX 100 is better for bigger battery than the Pint V Power Kit
Skyline S mode - does that reach 20mph? Other modes in the specs have a lower max speed than skyline. Would be interesting to know.
No. I get haptic buzz at 18mph in all modes, including Skyline S.
@@JeffBarksdale shame, firmware for S defo has diff speeds listed for each mode.
✨VESC✨
Refreshing to see a video on UA-cam so concise. I’m a fan of onewheels. I don’t own one anymore but I’d like to. I tend to disagree with the zeal of a lot of internet dramatizations, onewheel related or otherwise. But you calmly gave good concise information with good comparisons of how the XR and GT are advertised (assuming it’s accurate information. I owned an XR, but can’t remember when push back happened for me).
Have someone vesc it for u, then enjoy 20mph
I only have a Pint S but am having so much fun. Those damn big roots are a killer though!
It should be one at 17 and one at near 20, not both at the same time Also, FM=F*ck Morals
100% agree with you
Custom shaping is blowing mosfets fuses. I suggest riding on the presets like pacific or skyline. This is affecting both X and S
I was on custom at first, but switched to Skyline.
@@JeffBarksdale good idea. i did the same after all the recent post from others. Im not trying to lose another pintX
Same Thing with my Pint X, Adverdised with the new update at 20 MPH, Haptic buzz at 18. Like they should not be able to do that!
Hit dry pavement at 20 mph without appropriate gear on. Good luck with that. 8 mph is plenty for a thing with one wheel. 16? 20? Crazy without heavy gear. Go to Poland and walk into Ukraine if you have so much extra skin.
theres an art to falling, if you don't go splat you'd be superised how you can come up smelling like roses if you dont try to catch yourself.
@johanjotun1647 yeah a good fall is something special, I hit hard on a Segway and broke and smashed a not important part of top of my tibula and it was good for me overall but sometimes it doesn't work out like that , if you put the wrong thing into the pavement for just a second the skin goes by by . If you catch traction yikes, I got drug by a horse one time and that was not fun having a scab from my hip to my shoulder. You are not wrong about falling properly , it makes you feel invisible. But is it worth the potential death ? And these car "drivers" are trying to kill us !!!!!
@johanjotun1647 and sorry I gat pissed off seeing all these people getting put into a meat grinder for basically no reason other than to get rid of them and I was being rude.and I'm also a future motion fanboy apparently. That new XR classic is in the mail... Yeet !!! This video triggered me big-time.
I never heard anything about "Most advanced riders" in any of their videos!!
I got the pint s and yeah, pushback is at about 18 mph.
I've never ridden a onewheel before buying the pint S. it seems plenty fast to me, but I'm not fully comfortable yet
Oh and the XR had strong pushback to get to 20mph. That also was not comfortable or safe.
Yeah I got to 17.8 but had pushback at 17 it’s not comfortable or fun to push through pushback especially when carving you are off balance.
Hit me up send me the controller, and I will unlock it to go 22mph for ya
😢
Thanks for your review. I have a pint x and have been wondering if I should just get the new flared front and back foot pads and a new tire or sell mine and buy the S. Before the firmware upgrade the other day, 17.5 was as fast as I could go. Now I can go 19 with no issue. The haptic buzz starts in the 18s now.
Don’t buy the S.
@@mlastudioproductions I upgraded my pint x. I love the flared footpads and enduro tire!
I agree with your sentiment. I tried the Pint S about a week ago and had similar results. At my weight, I wouldn't feel comfortable pushing the board to 20, even as an experienced rider. You'd be riding Captain Morgan-style even if you were "advanced" enough to push it to 20.
Pint V crushes this over hyped rebrand.
...yup
FFM
This is why I said they should bump it up to 22mph therefore the pushback comes at 20.
I don’t mind riding through some pushback. It’s the haptic buzz at 18mph.
Standing sideways is the problem, hard to turn completely forward an be able to fall properly
Im new to one wheel but I got haptic buzz at 17.8 and backed off
That’s exactly what you should do. The haptic buzz is supposed to be a notification that you are at the limit of the board’s capabilities.
@@JeffBarksdale yea it's just the shaping profiles state 20 mph . But with that being said , being as new as I am; probably don't need to be going that fast anyways 😅
and they wonder why people crack their software.
Future Motion is such a joke. One of my Pint X's came with one of the axle bolt heads broken off, obviously from being overtightened at the factory, and I didn't notice until I rode it a bit. I emailed FM explaining the situation but they responded saying they wouldn't cover it under warranty. They claimed it the damage was my fault when I knew that wasn't at all possible from the very short amount of time I had ridden it, and refused to send me a SINGLE new axle bolt. Such a simple and easy customer problem for them to fix but instead they chose to forever lose my trust. Now I'm fed up with their bs marketing. I love my Pint X but I'll be buying as much third party accessories as possible in the future.
Glad you didn’t get injured because of that.
I love my OWs. I feel they weren't meant for speed.
I agree that they aren’t for speed. I tell everyone who asks how fast they go, “it’s probably not for you”. You may be missing the point of the video.
My experience with FM is that they don’t take responsibility for their customers. They seem to forget that it's the customers who made them, not the other way around. That’s why I 'upgraded' my Pint X to the Pint V-what a beast! Thanks, Tony! My next board will be the Floatwheel.
I have a Pint X with the update and converted to pint S. I was very excited and ordered the conversion parts and got them installed anxiously awaiting the update. Took it out for the first ride and I was extremely disappointed. I used to get around 16mph before pushback started and now it starts happening at 17, and the haptic buz by 18mph. I was extremely disappointed. Don’t get me wrong I was very happy they pushed the update out for the X and are continuing to develop it, but it definitely won’t do what they say it will and it’s nothing like my GT or GTS
same situation here. I have a pint x and updated to the new version 5200. The top speed is indeed improved, but hitting haptic buzz at 18.7 mph
I feel the same way. With my X I was hitting ridiculous pushback at 17, the last time on a cracked and bumpy concrete path. I picked up a wobble that I couldn't recover from and had to jump off the board. I managed to get out with a fractured shoulder. I was excited about the update and maybe getting a good cruising speed but it sounds like I maybe got another 1 mph before the board becomes un-rideable. Pretty disappointed if that's the case.
