You talked about how drummers could be underestimated or underappreciated in a band. You left out John Paul Jones. He is probably the most underappreciated member of Led Zeppelin. He does so much in the background that people don’t even know. He plays bass and he covers keyboard and he does so much with the production with putting the albums together. So don’t ever forget to give John Paul Jones his props.

Yep, the whole middle eastern sound to this, definitely makes the song what it is (more so than anything else imo). Not to mention his playing bass with his foot.

That man does it all. And stays in the shadows. But I have seen him live with Zep. And like martial arts, "The one who doesn't talk about his skill, surely is a master". And he is.

@Tracy D - Rush is great but Geddys voice gets old. Their stuff that sounds like Sabbath is their best in my estimation. I'd rather hear The Guess Who, April Wine, Triumph, Tea Party, or The Tragically Hip than Rush as far as Canadian bands go. I think I left a few out.

There was a time, long ago, when bands knew how to play their instruments and sing. No effects, no autotune, just raw talent honed through years of hard work. It's truly a wonder to see. You begin to understand why many of us "old fogies" disdain modern "music" so viscerally.

Just to give you a little scope of the impact they made on music, there were 20 MILLION ticket requests for this one-time concert. • @MrBazzos
      @MrBazzos 4 роки тому +6

@@chrisd7047 I love Robert Plant but he certainly didn’t look after his voice in the early days which has really affected his range and power now, it’s quite obvious actually just by listening to him. He was a heavy smoker for a long time, didn’t warm his voice up before shows and often started with the immigrant song, turns out all that isn’t a good combination. His vocals started declining as early as 73 onwards, I still personally like his voice BUT it definitely isn’t what it used to be.

Never before have I seen such integrity in a band for best friends (John Bonham and Robert plant) say that a band has lost an integral part and split with nothing to prove to anyone only to have jbs son come in and smash it with sheer perfection from everyone. This is truly amazing. I must add that I was born in 78 and of a generation that grew up on led zepp without knowing. I knew 7 songs at least. But knew their reputation and status but only that and the obvious songs like whole Lotta Love was the top of the pops top 40 countdown song. So it was the soundtrack to all music. Jimmy Page has a special relationship with his guitar. Just look at his expressions and body movements.

There have been technically more perfect guitarists over the years but that was never the point with Jimmy. He was inspirational, creative beyond comparison (in my opinion), a natural musician and guitarist and no-one has ever looked as cool on a stage with a guitar slung over their shoulders.

Robert Plant's singing ranges from A to G. Try doing that for so many years. His voice has burnished a bit with age, but is still good.

One vocalist, one drummer, one guitarist and one keyboard player, and I swear before Almighty God, it sounds like a full orchestra and an opera company! Songs like this redefine the word ''Awesome''!

Kashmir is a place and in the 60’s early 70’s it was a thing to travel to there, Morocco, etc for spiritual growth. You should read up on that era! Crazy!

I saw Led Zepelin perform this in the late 70s in Long Beach California. Jimmy used a Violin bow on his guitar in a solo half way through that was incredible.

Please react to Heart’s tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors. They performed Stairway to Heaven & Jason was on drums... the remaining members reactions are priceless.

Babydoll, I just found your channel and you e got an INSTANT subscriber out of me! 😃 I love your commentary and your willingness to experience music that is new to you without any preconceived notions about the music itself and allowing yourself to just like what you like and dislike what doesn't vibe with you!
After arching your reactions to Zeppelin and Robert Plant's AMAZING vocal chops!
I really hope you're gonna LOVE this Led Zeppelin to track as much as I do!
It's called "Since I've been Moving You" and I recommend you watch the live @ Madison Square Garden performance of the sony... The band and Robert will BLOW YOUR SOCKS 🧦 OFF hun! ☺️🫶🏽🥰✌🏽
I'm a black girl from Canada and I discovered Zeppelin late in highschool, and loving them opened the door to a.huge selection of music I would have never known, had I just stuck exclusively to listening only to what my school friends were listening to at the time...
God bless you and all the success with your channel my Sister from another Mister! 💖☺️💖

I love your reactions, you are so passionate. It’s like I was hearing it for the first time with you. I saw there last US tour in 1977 , I was 15 years old and was blown away that this came out of a four man band live. Beatles, Rolling Stones. Led Zeppelin was inspired by Blues artist Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and others. Listen to “I can’t quit you baby or Since I been loving you” .

Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and if I am not mistaken Jason Bonham playing drums in his fathers place, my memory is fuzzy on details of the passing of musicians as their work out lives them when it is done so well.
