Gonna be watching your stuff a heck of a lot more. Replacing HDs gen 2’s (installed in 2015) to brand new Elite ti2’s. Some might feel that’s a downgrade but not me. Great video.

Hi Patrick. Had a problem with the updates from Lowrance loading onto my computer. My internet was to slow. The fix was I went to my local dunkin donuts and used ther wifi to do download. Took all of 5 min or less .just wanted to share in case other viewers all having same. Problem

I guess people that work on units will do this for you at a cost. I don’t own a computer to do this. My units are older 2D only bought back in the 90s. One color unit and the other a black/white. My color unit has the SD card. These new electronics are outrageous in cost. I bought a 5 year old 1985 17’ Skeeter with a 150 Merc for exactly 6k back in 1990. A setup with the top line electronics cost more than I paid for a boat. And the value of a dollar sure won’t buy what it would back then and I’m making very close to the same wages. Like $2 difference. Times sure have changed. I’m an old fart as you can probably tell. If someone paid a $100 for a lure in 1990 they’d lock you up in a straight jacket and throw you in the Krazy House. I’ve seen $800 swimbaits.
James you dont need a computer. Find another video that shows how to do it wirelessly. Much easier also

@@NitroZ18Fishing if they sold as many sonar units as cell phones, the cost would go considerably down. A phone does a lot more than a sonar. I bet those $500 live scope transducers don’t take more than $50 to manufacture.

@Nate while I agree it's easier to do over WiFi, I wanted to focus on the micro SD option for this video only because I've seen so many individuals have issues for one reason or another using WiFi...when someone messages me asking for help that's the first question I ask...haha

I just bought an hds live unit and active target 2. All brand new and just installed it. I haven’t been on the water yet. Do I need to update it first before I can use it ?
You don’t have to, but I always recommend updating your latest software as soon as ya can…hope that helps!
Way easier to hotspot a phone and do it straight thru the graph wirelessly.
You can absolutely do it that way, but I’ve seen so many people have issues with that it’s not even funny
Hello first off your videos have been very helpful!👍 I'm having some issues hds 12 software is 20.1 all lights are on sonar ethernet and power and active target was working... it's now reading no sonar black screen on active target not physically hearing pinging from transducer. Any thoughts? Talked to lowrance customer service to be honest that was painful... thanks man great videos
Thanks man, I appreciate that!...so it was working at first, but now doing this?...any other changes to setup at all?...first thing I would do is the obvious, check all cords to make sure they’re tight...then I would do a soft reset...if that doesn’t work I would back up your data and do a hard reset...that should take care of it, let me know if it doesn’t and I’ll try to help more!
So we got the active target installed and it’s working but now somehow my down scan, sonar and most everything else isn’t working and when I turn off active target, they still don’t come up. You know anything bout that?

I need some help. I’ve got everything hooked up and like others have said I don’t have any lights on the module when the HDS is powered up with yellow wires from activetarget and the head unit connected. The HDS is also not reading the sd card and starting the upgrade process. This is $7,000 paper weight at the moment.
Oh man, there can be a number of things going wrong here…I would start with the obvious, make sure all connections and wiring is secure and nothing came loose…where do you have the positive/negative from module ran to?
For the update, what size sd card are ya using?
Does it update all the units if they are all networked or do you have to do individually

Unfortunately no, Active Target is only compatible with Lives, Carbons, and the new Elite FS
Did everything step by step. Inserted card into unit, then powered on. It did the validation, never asked me to accept then just started rebooting. Now nothing comes on the screen except the opening HD’s live then it goes blank
Hmm, what size card did ya use?...was there anything else on it?...any other files at all?
