I have to say I have Active Target 1 which to me was a significant investment. I fish primarily crappie and striper in my home lake. I am happy with what I have. Neither unit will catch fish alone.
Stitching is definitely improved on Active Target 2. If the comparison of Target 2 versus Target 1 images are both done in auto mode, it appears that Target 2 is factory programmed to a higher level of gain / contrast than Target 1. If this is true; Target 1 could be manually adjusted to display very similar to Target 2. Granted more power will increase the effective range but may not necessarily increase the level of detail (trade off). Still trying to decide which product / manufacture is the best. I have a lot of Lowrance equipment, but I will purchase a separate stand-alone active / real time imaging system (MFD/ transducer). Your thoughts/suggestions?
Does the module still get really hot? I'm about to do a complete upgrade on my 2006 G3 HP180. My old Minn Kota has been to the trolling motor doctor about 3 times over the years. Its lived its life. A few years back I upgraded to the Hook 7, front and rear. Now I plan on getting the Ghost trolling motor, 2 HDS Pros, transducers, and 3 Lithium batteries. I know a proper installation is a huge key to success with any electronics on a boat, that is why I'm going to have it done locally here in California. I've just heard so many overheating problems with the original and also Active Target 2, which worries me with such a huge investment. Any input would be appreciated.
40 foot good resolution range for AT1 vs 100 to 120 ft effective range for AT2? Thats a huge diff but a $600 difference between the two. By bubble has been burst.
Thanks for this video. Question, I have a HDS Live12 on my boat now. Planning on upgrading my Active target to the new ACT 2. Would the quality be better if I upgrade to the Pro unit? Would I see target separation better versus the HDS LIVE unit that I have now? Thanks
Does the AT2 module accept two transducers to view simultaneously vs AT. Like if I wanted to run scout and down live at the same time to say an hds10 would I have to get the AT2 to run two transducers?
Is it the transducer, box, or both? I've used my AT literally 6 days in April last year. Boat hasn't been in the water since. Wife has leukemia, and because of that we missed the last of 2020 and all of 2021 (18 months) fishing (when we used to go 3~5 times a month) and didn't know if we'd ever be able to go again. By the grace of the good Lord last April she said "Get the new GHOST, get another graph for the bow, get Active Target, I want to go fishing again". So I did!🙏 We went for a week, haven't been back since unfortunately. I agree the AT2 is 'hotter', but I don't really see that big of a difference. Or put it this way.... that big of a difference at the REAL distances we fish. I mean are you really throwing a crankbait or jig half a football field away and dragging it through trees? Seems like a good way to lose even more than normal. 🥴🤗 (Disclaimer... I guess we've always been dragging them through trees, we just haven't SEEN them. 🙂 We look for structure on sonar, ditches, flats, rocks etc. then we fish it. Not sure I wanna do it from over 120 ft away, then see it get hung up live!) 😂
I can see a difference but not huge one. Why didn't you do a perspective or scout mode comparison? I haven't seen a lot of screen shots or vids of the perspective view from Lowrance ? Why is that
@@Phinox9000 just from what I've seen online I haven't been as impressed with prespective mode in either Lowrance & hummingbird. Garmin definitely has advanced there. Mega 360 still has better imaging by far, but not live images. Seeing it in person may change my mind?? Weird that the new active target 2 isn't significantly better in all views?
Nice comparison. If you don’t mind I have a question,? I run Garmin 4 echomap 9s one purchased off you on the bow I have one that goes to a pole With lvs 34 the other goes to the ultrex and when I can afford another lvs 34 ,,, in the mean time is there a cable that connects from Garmin Echomap 9 to the ultrex transducer ? Also do you stock any minn kota ultrex maybe I can buy the whole deal from russel marine ?
in stock and live on our website right now sir!! www.russellmarineproducts.com/lowrance-activetargetr-2-live-sonar-w-transducer-module-xdcr-mounts-000-15959-001
I purchased my lowrance hook2 7 from RMP approximately two-and-a-half years ago and if you want to do business with some serious stand up guys I highly suggest you contact them. Best in the business I'm a retired cop and I don't give out attaboys very easy!!! I would do business with them again and again and again!

Would love to see a comparison of AT2 transducer on the AT1 module vs AT2 module.
Thanks for getting this up so quickly.
Of course!! So many more videos to come everyone!!

Will the previous active target XDCR work with the new active target 2 module??

No sir, it will be the same as you have now, no need to upgrade to the pro
I don’t need to upgrade to a HDs pro to get active target two ? Live and fs and carbon will work
Correct. The Carbon and LIVE will run AT2. You will just not get the new combined views option if you run two AT2 systems unless you have the HDS Pro.

No you have to have a separate module for each AT2 transducer
Does the Active Target update fix the distance and target separation difficulties with AT1?
Howw deep down does this unit work. I am fishing walleye from 80 to 150fow
Thanks
I would like to know which unit and the side of the unit that they were using . Like a 9 inch or 12 inch unit .
If you have Active Target do you need just active target 2 transducer or the module too
Nice Video! Do you know if the AT2 will work on Simrad NSS Evo 3 s like the version 1 does?
Is it the transducer, box, or both?

Not that i will cast that far but i might move the boat.
Hey Guys do you know if AT2 will work with my Simrad NSS Evo3s? I know the AT1 does , just curious if AT2 does before i purchase. thanks!
Is a scout mode comparison video coming soon, i only use my AT1 in scout mode to search for big pike.
Same. I'm very interested ina scout mode comparison
Did Lowrance fix the 1/2 second lag that AT had?
The lag is still there although it is better than AT1
Nice job. Was the at mounted on the trolling motor or a mount?
Think he said it was on the trolling motor
It was mounted on the trollingmotor shaft
@@RussellMarineProductsLLC yea I should have said shady that's where my at1 is thx again for the review

Yeah I don’t really that see that much of a game changer between the two
Because it sucks 4:18
its coming, water is icing here so didn't have a chance to get out before the water got hard here.

I have AT1. Can I trade in my AT1 black box and transducer for the AT2 system? Thanks
absolutely. please email us at: sales@russellmarineproducts.com
Does AT2 use the same power cord as the original AT?
yes it does

So disappointed I ordered the active target 1 less than a year ago at the same price the AT2 is right now.
Happens every two years get used to it
When can we expect to get one?

@MyOpinion Trolls for Biden I'm assuming a Live since the Pro isn't available yet
I don’t get it, AT2 stayed steady , AT1 was moving constantly, that’s not a good comparison ,
