5 weeks in and seeing reversal of many symptoms across the board, body composition is changing for the better, making good strength gains in the gym. Sleeping 7-8hrs straight through, libido improved, mental clarity and drive improved, edginess and anxiety disappearing. Starting to feel like my old self again.

Find the right dosage for you. Some people are fine with low dosage. some need more. "Results may vary"
    I'm 18 months into TRT.
the first 10 months I only used cream. Didnt see/feel much of a change.
I then added a once a week injection in addition to the cream.
It's been 8 months, and my life has changed. Confidence is adequate and realistic. Energy is high. Libido like I had at 20. Muscle growth makes sense for protein consumption and workouts.

9 months in with TRT working with the BMH team, and I am happy to report the results have been amazing ! I have lost weight, gained muscle and more importantly, have a renewed vigour for life. I have also been prescribed DHEA, which without doubt has helped with mental accuity. The team are helpful, friendly and above all will set you on a programme back to your old self.
I'm in my sixties but feel like I'm back In my thirties. Amazing.

Feeling sexy and feeling fit is a huge component to sex drive. When you feel good taking your shirt off and taking a woman to pound town is well within your aerobic capacity, you will have to have sex more often, even if all other factors are the same. TRT can get you off the couch and into the gym so it can absolutely help with sex drive. Getting into shape can also reverse ED.

My doctor started me at 200mg a week or 28mg a day.. I chose daily injections. I felt so cracked out... You may as well as tied me to a chair, tape back my eyelids and subject me to old black and white war footage of woman and children in villages being blown up. It was a living hell. I was highly sensitive. I'm now on 8mg a day and I feel waaaay better. No AI... no other bandaids. I also discovered that testosterone made me super sensitive to caffeine. I was having one cup of tea a day (1 tea bag) and it was enough to create horribly anxiety. Sometimes less is more. Find a doctor that is practicing modern standards of TRT... like micro dosing. My levels were 168 TT and 2.9 FT. I am a real low T patient that needed real TRT.... not a mini cycle.
My insomnia is getting better. My circadian rhythm is correcting. I am overall calmer. My relationship with sugar and my insulin resistance has gotten better. I WANT to work out and cycle. I laugh more. I have more ambition. The little guy downstairs is working better. I feel more animated like my 'old self'. I'm happier. My body compensation is slowly changing. I desire more whole foods. I'm only a few months in....

Over the last 2-3 years my energy has continually dropped, mental fog has increased, almost no sex drive, can't put on muscle, if i work out or lift weights I am exhausted for several days, and overall just not who I used to be. As much respect as I have for the great doctor I also noticed water retention for the first two months and it’s been close to a year now, and I’m really beginning to notice the results. I think the doctor presumes people are like himself very committed to the workout and diet regimen but for the average folk, who isn’t as committed, the results will take longer

Now started the Aveed which near as I can understand is a slow release 750 each inj. Here is my question, I understand Aveed is NOT titrated, so what you get as a blood/tissue level is what you get? Yes/no?

52 years old, and have been in a physical, and mental decline as of late. Had a doctor tell me 10-12 years ago that my T was a bit low, and i paid no mind to it….after all i was big, strong, and taking care of the Mrs in the bedroom.
This past week, I went for a wellness visit, and couldn’t believe the CBC results. 177 ng/dl, and 4.6 ng/dl free!

2 weeks in currently, and I can definitely feel a confidence and energy difference, especially the past week. I'm not 100% sure that it's not placebo, but either way it's effective for me at the moment. I always struggled with self-motivation, and slept for 10-12 hours a night. I've been sleeping 5 or 6 hours some nights and woke up MORE REFRESHED than I did with 12. I'm cooking for myself without thinking about it, among other self-care tasks that I had a big problem with. If this tragectory stays, I think it's a terrible sign for the therapy and medical communities. I've been in talk therapy for years with middling to no effect on my 'treatment resistant depression', and tried several SSRIs (as well as Welbutrin, which was somewhat effective). I think the 'depression' may be just entirely low T symptoms. Started at 135 ng/dl, taking 100mg injection once a week.

Like the doc mentioned, I work hard and after a hard day I'm not super excited for sex..... I will say though, I've managed to maintain and still keep definition during a 2 week break due to injury from the gym.... At month 3,ive increased my dose and going to see how my sex drive and other symptoms improve over the next 12 weeks. I'm hopeful but want others to know that this isn't an end all be all solution to all your possible problems. Thanks for the input and frankness.

Everyone is different....some feel it in days some take weeks. It's a gradual process for many. Many just see this as a physical change but it's a big mental one too. I think any male should be given regular testosterone samples after say 40 and when it drops below "norm" TRT should be provided or offered. As for women and the menopause hormones are almost ignored in terms and well being. It's ridiculous NOT to complete TRT. Because steroids are promoted as a bad thing by the media to the extent alcohol is seen and promoted as a positive which is madness. Injections are simple to do , takes seconds ....the TRT doses are that small you don't get PIP of any type. I prefer test enanthate.

Paying a specialist clinic who said I’d be a good candidate (37 years old 370 levels) but referred me at more great cost to an endocrinologist who sent me to check my cortisol levels first. His appointments are two months apart minimum and I’m so frustrated because I think he’s milking the process for every dollar before he prescribes it.

Should we be taking calcium d glucerate or dim? What about ZMA? Sometimes too many supplements dehydrate me and crush my libido

    • @balancemyhormones
      @balancemyhormones  Рік тому

Calcium D-glucarate and diindolylmethane (DIM) are two supplements that may help lower estradiol levels by improving estrogen metabolism and clearance.
Calcium D-glucarate is a natural compound found in fruits and vegetables that supports the body's detoxification processes. It's been shown to inhibit beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme that breaks down estrogen in the gut, and thus may help to reduce the amount of estrogen that gets reabsorbed into the body.
Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a compound that's produced when cruciferous vegetables are chewed or digested. It has been shown to support estrogen metabolism and promote the excretion of excess estrogen from the body.
As for ZMA, it's a combination of zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B6 that's commonly used by athletes and bodybuilders to support muscle recovery and growth. While there is no evidence to suggest that ZMA has a direct impact on estradiol levels, zinc and magnesium are important minerals that play a role in hormone regulation and overall health.
Supplements like calcium D-glucarate, DIM, and ZMA may have potential benefits, but, they may not be appropriate or effective for everyone.

It take a while and the expectation to “feel something” is normal but not really a helpful mindset when it comes to TRT as it can be a king gradual game and much of the progress has to do with other factors such as your lifestyle changes you make whilst on TRT. Lifestyle changes and TRT scan be a potent combination. The goal is to improve helath and wellness. TRT does not produce a “high” feeling but gradually and over time you should see improvements to where you won’t remember what you felt like without TRT other than feeling less well.

Has anyone else had a tough time with cold weather. I freeze and it’s extreme. While my friends have on a sweatshirt I’ll have 3 shirts on. I read that the inability to handle cold is a symptom? 37 years old 5’ 5” 275lbs on Feb 24 2024. I’ve had a lifetime of eating all processed & fast food, & drinking non diet sodas & energy drinks, only time I drank water was when soda or flavored drinks were not an option. Feb 24th 2024 I went on low carb diet and dropped almost 20lbs in the first 30 days. So April 3rd I started TRT injections weekly, I have continued with the low carb diet, and as well as at least a 12 hour fast. It’s been 7 weeks now and it’s completely halted my weight loss IMO. I was 257 when I started TRT & for the past 7 weeks my scale has bounces between 254-260. I’m not seeing loss or change in my clothes either. I’m starting to become really discouraged, I haven’t had a regular soda, energy drink, French fry, chips, burger, candy bar, in almost 3 months now, I literally eat meat, nuts, cucumber, diet soda & water. Should I continue TRT, will the weight loss pick up again? How long until I should start to see weight loss again?

Dude, weight loss is about calorie balance, not what you eat or what diet plan you're on. Low carb, high carb, high fat, low fat, doesn't make any difference, count your calories.
if you're not tracking your calories and just winging it on what you eat, how do you know if you're in a calorie deficit or a surplus? You need to be a in deficit to lose weight, TRT is not going to have stalled your weight loss, eating too much has stalled your weight loss.
Count your calories, reduce what you eat to bring you below your maintenance calories and the weight will come off.

I'm over 40 and go thru Veteran Affairs (VA) for my healthcare and have been referred to Endocrinology for low testosterone after 3 blood tests. Blood work showed low RBC; low LH; low testosterone (total); low % free testosterone (dialysis); low testosterone, serum (total); low free testosterone, serum. I'm seeing different results being posted online for vets going thru the VA for TRT. Any guidance on what I should be expecting the VA doc to talk to me about and what I should be asking them?

    • @balancemyhormones
      @balancemyhormones  Рік тому +1

If you are seeing an endocrinologist at the VA for low testosterone, they will likely discuss your treatment options with you. These may include testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in the form of injections, gels, or patches. The VA will have its own guidelines and policies for TRT, so it's important to ask your doctor about their specific recommendations and any potential side effects or risks associated with TRT.
You may also want to ask your doctor about alternative treatment options for low testosterone, such as lifestyle changes, supplements, or medications that can increase testosterone production naturally. It's important to have an open and honest conversation with your doctor about your symptoms, concerns, and goals for treatment so that they can provide you with the best possible care.
Additionally, it's important to discuss any potential drug interactions with your doctor, particularly if you are taking other medications or supplements that could interact with TRT. Your doctor can provide guidance on how to safely manage your medications and supplements while undergoing TRT.
Overall, it's important to be an active participant in your healthcare and to ask questions so that you can make informed decisions about your treatment options.

Testosterone therapy has been studied as a potential treatment for depression and anxiety, but the results have been mixed. Some studies have found that testosterone therapy can improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety in men with low testosterone levels. However, other studies have found no significant benefits or have even suggested that testosterone therapy may worsen symptoms of depression and anxiety. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider to determine if testosterone therapy is appropriate for an individual and to monitor for potential side effects.

A friend of mine said I should go get my bloodwork done, could be low T, not depression. Turns out he was right. Little over a year in and I don't have my symptoms. However, I will say that I am more anxiety prone now. I also have some past trauma. Seeing a therapist beginning of this year really helped in conjunction with TRT. I saw you mentioned you were a fire fighter. You might consider looking into EMDR therapy. It helps with processing trauma. Best wishes bud, for me it was a physical (low T) and mental combo that was really taking its toll. High stress isn't good either.
