    You're very personable and easy to listen to. The PC noises freaked me out as I thought it was my computer, lol. Check out the Xreal Air (original) glasses - perfect edge to edge sharpness. I plug them into my Ayaneo slide and use them for EVERYTHING. Will order the G1 thanks to this video.

    I like when you said it up front, made me want to watch the whole video and to listen to your arguments rather than skipping back and forth. the way you present was also captivating for more than 10 minutes, even without many b-rolls. great video.

    I was on the fence of getting this as I was afraid of getting buyer's remorse and this device isn't exactly cheap where I'm from. You just convinced me to get it. I always preferred playing games on handheld even if I'm permanently connected to the socket. Great video man!

    Really enjoyed your review. Talking without a script and without cutting in one take is really difficult, and I think you have a really nice balance of things to say without rambling (somthing i struggle with). The Windows notifications did distract a little, but once you solve then your videos will flow real nicely. I think you've got a natural talent to this so keep going if life allows you too.

    I want to buy Minisforum elite mini UM 780 xtx with oculink port. Right now, the only available EGPU that are easy to buy in my country is GPD G1 earlier version and onexgpu. What would you suggest should I get?

      Ooooohhh, that 780 XTX is awesome! Good choice. Do you plan to take the dock out of the house at all? What do you see your use case being, and what type of monitor do you plan on using it with? Or will you be connected directly to the internal display? Knowing this will help me give you the best advice.

      I think the onex gpu would be best for you. The power briick is bigger than the older g1, which makes it less portable. You also have the option to add more storage to the dock. Also, I've heard nothing but good things about it. I love the g1 but since you cant get the newer model, and you dont plan to travel much with it, buy the onex egpu.@@morrisjanjavier394

      Hi there, to be clear, do you have the one x version or do you have the G1. Either way you should remove all drivers using DDU driver removal and restore it. If you haven't, don't do this already Definitely do it. There are many videos that will show you how. Also, what pc are you using?

      The only other thing I can think of is reinstalling windows 11 on the legion go. Basically reset it to factory settings. I rescently had to do this for another issue I was having. It was USB C port related. Wasnt working but a full wipe of windows and reinstallation solved the problem. Have you tried that yet? It's so strange that you are having these issues. How would you compare the ability of the G1 to an RTX3080? Which would you say performs stronger for high end games?

    • @Slyclientthetechdad
      @Slyclientthetechdad  5 місяців тому +1

      An RTX 3080 performs better. I know for sure because I owned a 3080 for 2 years and just recently sold it. If you don't mind a full sized graphics card and don't care about portability, the 3080 is the way to go. The advantage of the G1 is that you can throw it in a backpack and take it anywhere you want. The G1 doesn't perform as well, but the portability of the device is amazing. I hope this helps

    • @joethelocator1161
      @joethelocator1161 5 місяців тому +1

      @@Slyclientthetechdad Thank you very much. What would you say the G1 can be compared to as an equal? Would you say the 2080? Or still less good than that?

    • @Slyclientthetechdad
      @Slyclientthetechdad  5 місяців тому +1

      @joethelocator1161 I think that is a very fair comparison. Very similar. I hate to say it but I would always lean towards Nvidia rtx though. One of the things that I wish I mentioned in the video is the AMD Adrenaline driver software. I'm just not a fan of it. If you're interested in the something in the category of these cards you are talking about, you may want to consider the RTX 4060Ti. Your will get comparable performance but better Ray Tracing support. It's cheaper than the G1 too.

      @joethelocator1161 Awesome, you'll love those GPD devices. Have you considered an EGPU dock? You could buy one with an oculink port and attach a 3080 to it.You could do some research into that. @Slyclientthetechdad  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for watching. I think you will find that th G1 works very well with the legion go. if I were you I would definitely consider it. The GPU in the OneX is the same, however the OneX has additional storage options inside the GPU casing. That is a nice addition if you would like to add and extra TB of storage. The only way I would consider the 4070 TI was if you have your heart set on gaming at 1440p. If 1080p is acceptable for you, I would lean towards the OneX or G1. I like the G1 most because it is so professional looking. I love that I can bring it to work and it blends in with everything on my desk.

    I personally have the One Dock with an RTX 4060 LP which I'm planning on using with my win mini once it arrives. I just like how it's upgradeable unlike the G1. Weird that the Win Mini gets hot while plugged into an eGPU. I've been using my Win Max 2 with my One Dock and the Win Max 2 barely uses any power, the RTX 4060 does all the heavy lifting. I'm hoping it doesn't get hot with the One Dock setup

    • @Slyclientthetechdad
      @Slyclientthetechdad  6 місяців тому

      I think it still gets hot because it utilizes AMD's Smart Technology. One of thr functions is that it uses bith the G1 and the 780m internal graphics. The previous version had a way to shut this off in the bios so it would only use the G1. I havent gone into the bios to check but with that said, there could be a way to disable this function. If you dont mind me asking where did you get the One Dock? Im looking for an external GPU set up as well. I just refuse to buy anything from Super Buy. It makes me nervous.

    • @FS-zt6tm
      @FS-zt6tm 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Slyclientthetechdad I bought it from superbuy. I actually have two One Docks and I'm planning on selling one. I was initially thinking of making one a desktop only eGPU with a beefier graphics card and having another for travel with a smaller low profile graphics card but ever since I upgraded to GPD's 7840U devices, I feel like it's enough for gaming on the go and don't really need the extra performance boost the One Dock would provide. Let me know if you're interested in buying one of them.

    • @Slyclientthetechdad
      @Slyclientthetechdad  6 місяців тому

      @FS-zt6tm Im definitely interested in buying it from you. I preordered the new Win Max 2 and plan to use it docked while using my mini handheld. Do you think I could connect a 4090 to it? • @FS-zt6tm
      @FS-zt6tm 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Slyclientthetechdad It should work but you might get bottlenecked by the CPU. I think the Phawx is running a 4090 with his setup and if I recall correctly, reported about a 10% performance loss over oculink compared to a desktop setup (not 100% sure but if I find the video, I will send it). Btw, the One Dock doesn't come with a power supply so you will have to find one that provides ample enough power to the One Dock and your graphics card (rule of thumb is your graphics card's TDP + 100W) I will shoot you an email to discuss this further.

    • @FS-zt6tm
      @FS-zt6tm 6 місяців тому

      @@Slyclientthetechdad the Phawx's video of the One Dock was actually a 3090, not a 4090. 4090 might be overkill for the One Dock so I would suggest looking elsewhere for an eGPU setup. One Dock is better suited for low profile cards imo but people are running full sized graphics cards on theirs, it just doesn't look as elegant imo.
