I'm 72, and I wear a pixie. I no longer drive so I'm trying to teach myself to cut my hair. I have a C-Pap machine and 24/7 oxygen is why I want a pixie. You have helped me a lot. I will only add a stool to sit down on when my legs give out. Doubt I'll ever get to a beauty shop again. Wish they would do an at home appointment. But have not heard of any such aids available.
Hi Jan, there are services like that available in the Netherlands but I don’t know how it is in your area. Glad I could help!
You could use Uber or a Taxi. Some communities have a small bus for seniors or please reach out to a friend.❤
I agree with using Uber or asking a friend to drive you. I am 70 and watching because I have been trimming on my own hair between appointments for years.
Hope you stay well.
I am a 80 yr old who used to be a hairdresser, but It utcan not believe that I can not find anyone in this who town can cut a true pixie. I used to cut my own hair but due to arthritis I cannot do that any longer. I have even ask my last hairdresser to watch your channel, but she she refused, she said she did not have time. Can you believe that?
I followed your steps and for my 1st time ever cutting my pixie cut .. I’m super happy with my results , I will still go to my stylist but super happy with how it turned out! Thanks so much !
Hi Gina, that’s awesome! Now I’m curious 😜
What a sweet and inspirational couple. You did a great job cutting your wife's hair. I'm much older, but I still wear a pixie. Up until the last year (I'm 73 now) I cut it myself. I learned a great deal growing up in my Mom's beauty salon. Now I'm disabled in a power chair and have acute osteoarthritis and osteo porosis. It's so hard for me to cut the back because it is so painful. My son love's just two doors away. I begged him to cut the back but he still refused. I did the best I could. Your wife is a very lucky woman to have a husband so helpful and nurturing. That's how it's supposed to be. Best to both of you. Linda from Texas.
Ahh that sounds like it’s tough! Thanks for sharing your story and I hope you find a great hairdresser soon
You can tell he does hair. Just saying
That is too short at the nape most women I feel would not like that. I wouldn't. Oops too Manish. My opinion. Liked it better when not so way up her nape.
@@glorialegault6696I understand that it's not for you, but that's how they both like it. If it wasn't what Kim wanted, then it would have been a disaster, but she is happy & that is all that matters. I don't think it looks like a man's cut on her at all. I think she looks amazing, she wears it short very well!
I LOVE WATCHING YOU CUT HAIR. So cool to see you with your wife. I started cutting my own hair with COVID and you have been instrumental in teaching me. THANK YOU!
Ahhh you’re welcome and thanks for the compliments!
I have always cut my own hair with clippers and thinning shears. Only I use quite large guards - my nape is .75 inches graduating to my top which is 2 inches. I found the large guards on Amazon. I cut off any “corners” and then I blend with thinning shears and point cut the top for texture. In the end it’s a short pixie but I love it.
That sounds like a good cut!
I used your tutorial to cut my wifes hair. I started out nervous and sweaty and thought I'd end up with a crying wife, but she's actually super happy! It was a challenge, I'll admit that. Given that she has thick and quite curly hair I had some moments where I thought I'd go mad when the hair wouldn't even go in between the combs on the clipper.
I'll circle back to your video next time she needs her hair done. Thank you SO much for posting this video!
You’re so welcome!
why the f would you want this style for your wife
I've been cutting my husband's hair. It looks okay. It will look better after watching this tutorial. Now I understand how to use the graduated guard sizes and where to measure for sectioning the hair. I was close. Looks good. Thank you!
Relaxing voice + relaxing clipper sounds = Best asmr!
I showed this to my girlfriend and she is now convinced that I do know how to cut hair…
I have been following you for about 2 1/2 years, and have used your techniques to cut several people’s hair. One woman said that I gave her husband the best hair cut he had ever had. Most of the women that I have cut almost always say “cut it as short as possible. My husband loves it and my old hair dresser refused to cut it as short as I asked her to. I saw your interview and I wish you the best. I started my carpentry business and never looked back…
Such an informative tutorial for this very neat, clean neck-line haircut. I am a retired hairdresser, almost 80, my shoulders will no longer allow me to cut my hair, I CANNOT find a hairstylist that understands HOW to cut my neckline like this, so I appreciate your step by step guide. I will send send this video to my stylist.♥️
Oh, your “”model”” is gorgeous, of course you are already aware of that!😊. Thank you again for such a wonderful video, I miss my hairstylist days, & really enjoyed your video.👍🏼
Cool, glad I could help!
The cut is nice, and suits your wife. She has beautifully thick hair. I have very fine hair. For me, I like my hair to be a textured wispy pixie,
cut vertically as apposed to a blunt cut.🤗
Me encanto porque aun cuanto no hablo ingles bueno un poquito pero entendi tremendamente el concepto así que hracias enormes por este video Dios le bendiga
I use thinning/blending shears a lot when I cut my husband’s hair. I learned a lot of technique from watching you, so thanks a lot!
Ahhh that’s cool Gail!
There is so much loved in your wife’s eyes for you. ❤️🔥
I said the same to myself.....I'm also a Jacqueline!!!

Thanks for sharing your technique, especially with the guard numbers! Thanks to your beautiful wife for being your model. Maybe you can introduce your cats in the next video from home. I’m surprised they aren’t “helping you”.
Haha the cats aren’t in de shop luckily! And I’m allowed to open again so no more home cuts!
Great instructional video; thanks for sharing your skills! Beautiful wife!
Ahhh thanks Madeline!!! And off course you’re welcome
Lovely couple. Enjoy your videos very much ❤️
Thanks a lot Jen!
Im leanring to cut mine due to having to move and on a fixed income so got my own clipper set and hair cutting kit to
I remember there was a hairdresser uses newspaper or cut garbage bag as protective cape during hair cuttings
Awesome 👍
Thanks!
Beautiful cut! What do you recommend for thing hair and some actual bald spots
A little longer but the shape works great like this
@@HFDZK Thank you for taking time to answer back. Love watching your videos! My family has passed but they were all beauticians.
Amor cabeleireiro se eu morasse aí eu só ia contar o meu cabelo com vc amei vc 👏👏😍😍💞💞
Try holding the mirror and clipper to cut, takes experience
It’s horrible to do😜
Wonderful
My first barber instructor 32 years ago taught us, never make a line (in the taper) you never have to remove a line. Working lines in and erasing them emerged from the time when there were no barber teachers and learners had to teach themselves and reinvent the wheel. Trouble is, working only with "guards" and "numbers" they created a square wheel.
😀
I have trimed my hair before but now am trying to cut it all. I bought cippers and used them for the the first time yesterday. I need to get a mirror to be able to see the back of my head. Great advice in your video. Wish I had seen it yesterday. I have very fine hair and it is thing with age. Any suggestions for that short trim on the back?
The same, just a little longer to keep it covered
I would love to do the thinning technique you did at the end with scissors but know you need rreally good scissors for that. What price point on amazon do you think would be for "good enough" for a someone just cutting their own hair at home? $50?, 75, 100?
Lovely couple ❤️😘❤️😘
Thnx!
Short hair very elegant
Don 't worry, Kim, It'll soon grow.
you mean dont worry sir
Brilliant to watch, fab cut. May I ask an unrelated question?, are you German?
Haha no dutch
I found this video because I had chemo and lost all my hair and now it's growing back so I am figuring out what to do with it :D
Hope you’re doing better now
@@HFDZK Thank you! I'm doing really well!
Loved the cut..My hairdresser here in México says that hair has to be wet,SO he always does a shampoo before cutting it, is it true?
No… at least, I disagree
💗
😀😀🤩
Very nice
Thanks!
You guys are so cute together
Ah thanks
She looks gorgeous with the short back. Very elegant!
:D:D
Great cut! Question though, with pixie cut, is this possible with thin hair?
It is! Actually Kim has pretty thin hair as well
Today I discovered that good small eyebrow razor blades (and shaving gel) are doing well for shaving the part around the ears!
Sounds scary😅
@@HFDZK nog too bad ;-)
Love her hair color too! Can you tell me what shade of blond it is, please. You have a beautiful wife!!
Its a grey tone that washed out a little actually😅 so it’s a 5 weeks old L’Oréal Majirel 9.1
Perfeito
🤩🤩
What about really thin hair?? Will this work? I really want to do this!!
Yes it would! Kim’s hair isn’t that thick
I love how your wife look at you while cutting her hair. She's lucky she has a loving husband who can her hair regularly for free. 😘
Thank you!!! I have a clipper been using for my husband and myself. What kind do you recommend?
Any classic model (with the lever in the side) above $30 does the job!
I’m not sure I understand the use of the lever. Could you tell us more about it pleaseRene? Thanks!
👍🏻😃
😀😀😀😀
I wanted to see how you fixed that one side sticking up, didn’t show that, but good job.
Ahh is it not in the video? Water and a blow dryer usually does the trick to keep jumpers down
I couldn't cut my own hair at home even if it wasn't lockdown, just haven't got a clue really , not good with my hands ,. Simples😊
You are so cute toguether! 👏👍🌺
Ah thnx!
"repeat these steps until you're happy" hehehe lovely!.... (+ "scisor happy" I'm kinda that person)
Haha my own Bob Ross sentences haha
El vídeo muy bueno pero muy lentos ❤️👌
🤩🤩
Is this haircut a barber haircut? Would I be able to get this at a barber?
You would, but at a salon as well. As long as they use more than one guard on the clippers
Die deutsche Übersetzung ist am besten! 🤣🤣😂
Habe ich mir zwar nicht reingezogen, aber ich glaubs dir. 😁
Wass?😅 Ich hab nichts in Deutsch gemacht
I would have liked to see model cut own hair so it would be more helpful for me to do my self
There are videos about it on the channel
I’d start with glean hair
Glean, clean.. Potato, Potaato.
That was great, but I need explanation for the top!
Ohh there’s a tutorial for that as well!
