@@lukeparfums I'm happy to say that I bought a vintage bottle for a great price on Vinted. So divine. I thought that I had left this fragrance in the past, but not at all.
I loved it in 1985 and I love it now. I purchased a vintage bottle for my birthday this year. I don't know anything else that smells like it. Nice review.😊
Thought I'd share my 3 cent's ;) My husband buy's me an entire line of designer perfume that came out in a significant year...like the birth of a child, milestone anniversaries etc. I did a thing with my 3 girls, I let them blind smell and blind pick their favorite scent out of my collection last Christmas for them to keep without seeing or feeling the bottle. When we unveiled what each picked...all 3 picked the EXACT perfume I got for their birth!!! Ysatis was my oldest girl born in '84, Amarige was my 2nd oldest mini me,'91 and the baby born in '96 chose Organza and even said "I get the bubble bath, lotion, Powders, mini's lol)...she bounced between that and 4711 (was my mom's, she passed when bbg was only 7 and I didn't display mom's collection so it was very surreal, I let her have it too)
@@lukeparfums Hi, Thank you, I had to share, we'd all be honored if you shared the unexpected wonderful experience. I didn't expect it to turn out as it did, I just thought it would be a fair way to give them some of my Perfume's without them looking at the cost of what they were picking. It was very touching how they each chose a scent related to being cradled and being swathed.
Luke - you've led me down so many beautiful vintage paths - and Ysatis was one of them. About a month ago, I bought a near empty bottle of the vintage, and like you say, I too fell in love at first sniff. Weirdly, while it's a strong perfume, I don't find Ysatis overbearing or overly loud - just elegant and beautiful. So of course last week, I found a great deal and bought myself a 100ml vintage bottle, I think you and I have similar noses!
That’s amazing! I’m so happy that you managed to procure a 100ml vintage bottle. I usually don’t complain about the current formulas of vintage classics but Ysatis is one of those that you need to experience in its vintage version in my humble opinion. Thanks for watching!🙂
@@lukeparfums I've only smelled the vintage - the one with the metal cap and the skyscraper bottle. I can't imagine they could do any better than this!
I bought Ysatis for myself in the early 90's with my hard earned money as a teenager. It was my first 'grown up' perfume. I loved it so much. Its so strong but such a beautiful beautiful perfume❤❤❤ Thank you for this hommage. I own Jill Sander no4 and it reminds me a little bit of Ysatis.
I’m sure it holds a very special place in your heart, the nostalgia and memories… My pleasure.😊 Oh yes, Jil Sander No.4 is very much in the same vein as perfumes like Ysatis, Poison, very of its time.
@@lukeparfumshi I've been seeing Ysatis on Fragrance Net, and Amazon has the older one but it is marked up. I wonder if the new release is good. Loved it when I first bought it at Hudson's in Eastland Mall. Sadly it's been gone😢 now I want to try Jill Sander 4
I just scored a vintage bottle of Jil Sander no.4 and it is stunning!! Love it, love Ysatis and all the beautiful powerhouse perfumes from back in the day.
@@wyattearpswoman838 you're so lucky!! Enjoy it💖 I'm so happy to see all the classic perfume lovers unite on this channel. Its hard to find such a safe space amongst all the niche and sugar bomb lovers.
I love 💗 YSATIS! I saved my money when I was working at EATON’s in my twenties and bought a 50ml splash bottle. I wish I still had that bottle. But you’re right Luke….the best version is the 80’s formula. 🥰
I have been using Ysatis since 1985 , I must admit the new formula is not as good as the old one, but I still buy it, there are 2 perfumes de Givenchy, I like best and they are Ysatis and Dahlia Divin(EDP).Greetings from Spain

I fell in love with Ysatis when my mother bought it in the 80s. They reformulated it some years ago but i wasnt happy with it. I avoided it. They have changed the bottle again and it smells closer to the original formulation.
You’re right, it was reformulated, possibly more than once. I had the new version (tall bottle) and the vintage formula (shown in the video) puts it to shame. Thank you for watching!🙂
Great review! I remember my mom using Ysatis back in early 90's and I loved it. I never had it myself, but I have Amarige, another of my mom's and also Givenchy. This was really a powerhouse!
Thank you! That's amazing.🙂 Mums have the best taste in perfume. Mine loved Poison. Amarige and Ysatis are two incredible powerhouse scents. Thanks for watching!
Hi Luke! I’m always happy to hear about vintage fragrances…I’m vintage myself…😂😂😂 I’ll begin looking for this…. today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hi there, I’m always happy to see your comment. If you by any chance like White Diamonds, you’ll probably love Ysatis. WD is a sweeter and more affordable version of a similar scent profile. They’re not dupes though. You too, have a nice weekend.😊
I think that’s a reasonable price. Is it the bottle with the “metal” cap? I paid around $60 (if I convert from pounds) for my 50ml. I’m glad Ysatis prices haven’t skyrocketed yet. Vintage bottles of Rochas Byzance are in the hundreds.
This was the first “grown up” perfume given to me by my father when I was 17. I stoped wearing it when they changed the formula, and I discovered J’Adore, but you’ve given me how that I can find a vintage bottle. Where besides eBay, would you say, is the best place to buy authentic vintage bottles?
Amen to the generic bottles!! I lament to my hubby about this all the time. They are awful and ugly now, not artistic, unique, and beautiful like the amazing perfumes of yesteryear. I am down to searching out discontinued vintage fragrances, almost exclusively, these days. These are the perfumes that bring happiness, and the compliments!
I went to the perfume counter a few months ago, and I too found that they all pretty much smell the exact same! Nothing like visiting the perfume counter when I was a teen in the 90's. Even the classics have been reformulated (mutilated) to smell of....nothing. They smell like absolutely nothing. They all have the same generic smell, and you cannot even smell them on your skin unless you bury your nose in your wrist.😥
Glad to see someone honouring this masterpiece.
Such an amazing classic deserves to be honoured. Thank you for watching!🙂
