I up loaded my first video yesterday and I also up loaded another today using my iPad. These two videos came from my Instagram. I call myself a hobby artist, I like a lot of different mediums and I’m not bad. I have sold a few of my paintings and did a commission. I do work in a day job 9am to 3pm school hours. My son wants me to put my art out there on UA-cam 😊 he is right, I should. But this is a whole different thing to me but hay I always say, “mmm I will have ago at that”, which is why I have come so far with my art. Now I’m trying to apply the same creating a UA-cam channel 🤨 so many different things to learn about. Got to start somewhere 😀 no clue what to do.. 🤔

Thanks for all the pointers in all your videos. I currently have 2 channels, one a gaming channel where I had 10k subscribers at one point. It's currently down to 8500 because I didn't upload for many years (a variety of reasons). The other channel (the one I'm posting from now) is made up of some videos I made as a television videographer. I want to start a new channel from scratch. The niche is a factor since I want it to be not centered on one subject. But I've seen so many videos saying that I won't be able to sell just myself, especially early on. I've have ideas for videos I want to do, mainly on life in general, but I'm stuck.
Well is there any kind of theme you could start with in the larger theme of life? Like navigating mid-life? Adapting to life as an empty nester. Or life of Allen - the “insert something” 🎉😊

Thank you for your video. At the beginning, you showed us a clipboard flying across your video, that is what I need help with. I use the free version of Canva and feel that i need to add a lot more animation but don't know where to start.
That was probably a graphic element that was put on top of the video. Then, with that clicked, if you look at the top bar, you will see the "animate" button. Click on that to get a lot of options for moving the element (or text) around on your screen while the video is playing in the background. If you're used to using Canva for editing pictures, the video works the same way: just layer pictures or text or other videos on top of your video.
Hey the clipboard was a gif actually that I downloaded from pixabay and then just inserted as b-roll (overlay) into my video. Yes and as kerim said to you in the comment below you can animate words and such in canvas when you click on the background of your art board and the animate option pops up. I’ll make a video on it! ❤️

Lol, in case no one else cleared it up for you, cross stitch is a fiber art of its own. Sewing is a fiber art, knitting is a fiber art, but each is its own thing. Sewing typically connects multiple pieces of fabric together, in terms of niche garment sewing is seperate from something like quilting. Cross stitching is done on a specific type of fabric and essentially you are using colored thread to paint a picture. Knitting can use either a loom or needles and is done with yarn. Embroidery machines could probably do something similar to cross stitch on regular fabric, but typically cross stitch is done by hand. As is embroidery which would be similar to cross stitch with a bigger array of stitches than cross stitch which is typically a bunch of little x's. Not required to live in Texas to cross stitch though. And I had that typed out and realized you are from Finland so you probably don't know the song all my exes live in Texas. Oh well, lol. Anywho, thanks for all the info! Will check out Turboscribe, sounds interesting.

Your point about niche is so on point. I just posted my first ever video and it kinda sucked because I don't think I identified a particular niche. (OK, it might have sucked for various other reasons too.) But I'm struggling to identify an appropriate niche. Being a retired traveler doesn't seem to be "niche" enough. Any suggestions?
Maybe it's as simpy as changing the focus from you to them. Adventures for Retirees, so your videos could be cool places to go when you retire or fun things to do when you finally aren't at the 9-5 anymore...or something. Here are some more detailed ideas: Adventure Travel: If you enjoy more adventurous activities, document your experiences with hiking, diving, zip-lining, and other adventure sports. Share tips on how to stay active and adventurous in retirement. Slow Travel: Emphasize the joys of slow travel, where you spend extended periods in each location to fully immerse yourself in the local culture. Share tips on how to make the most of long-term stays and highlight lesser-known destinations. Travel Tips for Retirees: Share practical advice, tips, and hacks specifically for older travelers. This could include information on senior discounts, accessible travel, health and safety tips, and comfortable travel itineraries. Wishing you the best with it! I find it hard to keep up with the speed at which you talk, I have tried slowing down the speed of the video but then it all sounds strange! I['m just coming out of 3 years of CPTSD recovery and notice my brain is a bit slower these days. The reason I'm making the suggestion for you to perhaps slow down a touch is to make your brilliant content even more accessible to everyone.

I find it hard to keep up with the speed at which you talk, I have tried slowing down the speed of the video but then it all sounds strange! I['m just coming out of 3 years of CPTSD recovery and notice my brain is a bit slower these days. The reason I'm making the suggestion for you to perhaps slow down a touch is to make your brilliant content even more accessible to everyone.
