Of course they were. But they'll pin those killings on the "bad guy", like they always do. Witness the kid in FLA, charged with murder because the pig who attacked him, while he was chatting on the phone, and eating his dinner, had a heart condition and dropped dead attacking him. Yepp, American pigging at it's finest.

To wait for a dangerous suspect to leave their home and enter a public park before serving him with the search warrant is what killed the two innocent hostages. I hope whoever made that call thinks about them every day, and says sorry. They would have been tripping over themselves to get this footage out to show what actually happened. Hopefully the families of the two hostages as well as the families of every child present that day sue the state and the CHP.

Just a reminder, in case you 'thought' you had Liberty in America:
The Supreme Court has said that the police have NO DUTY to protect the public: Castle Rock v. Gonzales, DeShaney v. Winnebago County and Warren v. DC.
The Supreme Court has said that the police do not have to understand the laws they are sworn to protect: Hein v. North Carolina (For pesky citizens, the general rule is that 'ignorance of the law is not a defense')
The Supreme Court has said that the police can make "reasonable mistakes" even to the point of killing someone: Hein v. North Carolina (For pesky citizens, we have "Accountability", no immunity for us)
