      @@jumpingman6612It’s not necessarily just that, if you listened to the later part of the video.
      Im sure it could be part of it, but not a good idea to simply dismiss it as just incompetence.
      Until more advanced DNA testing, options were severely limited as most of the bodies weren’t found until way later, and/or were subject to the elements destroying valuable evidence.
      There’s the technology now, but the expenses of using it requires the department to have the funding necessary for diverting some of it into a cold case investigaton department.

Law enforcement has worked the cases when they happened and continue to work the cases. Circumstantial evidence continues to be gathered and the family members still hold onto hope that there will be an arrest.

    It’s actually horrifying how easy it was to get away with serial murder before the huge advances in science & technology.

    • @ghostratsarah
      @ghostratsarah Рік тому

      It still is. Most murder goes unsolved, unless you ask the FBI who say 51% are solved. But they're the FBI, they're going to inflate that number quite a bit. Considering serial killers are skilled enough to develop a pattern, they are more likely than not to avoid capture- since their killings are usually not linked. The statistics there are also far under reported, for the same reason Japan has a 99% conviction rate. Cases are covered up, ignored, thrown out, or placed on whoever they can most easily pin it on with the public making less fuss than if they didn't blame anyone at all.
      Pretty terrifying when you realize how unlikely your murder is to be solved.

A great drinking game would be choosing several episodes at random and drinking every time you say three, every time the “Life Insurance Dance” happens, whenever it is in Florida, Texas or Ohio, and every time the cops screw up the investigation…..in fact that may need its own dance, the “Cops were Clowns” dance could be fun. And though you have way too many episodes to go back and do this, it would be neat to see a map of all the places you help us “visit”. It would also be interesting to see how many are money motivated, love motivated, revenge motivated and then the “total shitstain on humanity” motivation. Thanks for all that you do. On a much happier note, Charlotte Sena, a 9 year old girl who was camping with her family in New York State was found yesterday after being abducted on Saturday. She was kidnapped by Craig Nelson Ross, a 46 year old man, while riding her bike around the campsite. A SWAT team found the little girl in a cupboard at the man's trailer where he lived with his mother. Thank God! These situations almost always end badly, but the criminal was not the sharpest tool in the shed and left his fingerprints for the authorities to find. 😊❤

After binge watching so many of Mike's videos, I think that his stories kind of serve a similar purpose. Great job covering these cases as always Mike, and good luck on reaching two million subscribers. It's such a tragedy that this serial killer hasn't been caught; however, the fact that forensic tenchnology has advanced so much over the years, and that other long unsolved cases (such as the golden state killer, and the long island serial murderer) can be solved- even decades later offers a hopeful outlook; even though it's overdue, the perpetrator will be made to face justice- and hopefully that will lead to first victim who disappeared being found; cases like hers specifically have always left me with such an ominous/eerie feeling. There is something so disturbing about the idea that a person can just vanish so completely. Everyone involved is due resolution
