A 14 year old runs away from a home where her sister committed suicide at age 12-makes me wonder what kind of home life these kids endured. How very tragic and sad. May they rest in peace.
No wondering about it. Without a doubt, those poor kids endured hell. It’s awful being forced into the world by emotionally distant adults. The very least a parent can do is love and care for their children. No one asks to be born and no child deserves to be treated so badly that they only see death as an answer. My heart breaks for all children who have lived and currently live in such conditions
I can’t even imagine what that poor girls family is going through. It’s one thing to find out your baby was murdered… but to have her last photos broadcasted out there, everywhere is utterly unthinkable. May all his victims rest in peace. May he rot in the hottest part of hell, forever.
What kind of socially maladapted halfwit not only tries to make some totally unrelated niche reference in response to over two dozen murders, but also explaining the joke in the same sentence. Are you okay?@Saavik256
@ferox965 - Are the pictures disturbing? Sure, I can understand and respect that opinion and to be frank, I agree that the fact that you know it's not a staged photo. Plus, I actually agree with you. You can see the pure terror and fear in her face while also seeing her scared body language along with the eyes. Her last hours were likely terrifying. May be rest in peace.
There are so many layers: she was just a child; the life she was trying to escape from; her (illegal) partner had been murdered; she was fully aware what the pos had been doing for years and what her fate would be; knowing that she'd endured a month of extreme mental and physical torture by that point; the physical appearance of her and the poses he made her do; the location; her expression - that she's looking at pure evil; what happened shortly after the photos were taken... I've probably left many things out. It's both heartbreaking and very chilling.
My husband is a OTR truck driver. I go with him often and I always wonder what types of people are around us. Everyone, please stay safe. Never get in the car with ANYONE you don’t know.
My mom's ex 2nd husband was a trucker. He traveled with his kitty. He was not a serial killer. But an alcoholic who sadly passed away in the last couple yearsfrom his addiction. I'd say HE MAY HAVE hooked up with one of the lizard women or whatever they are called at some point when he was single, but luckily he was not an abusive serial killer. I know the truckers knew of some crazy stories from one another. I have respect for truckers who do that job honestly (and don't have something nefarious hidden through it.)
Holy crap I got lucky! When I was 18 on my way to 19 in 1989, I hitchhiked from VA to California with my boyfriend at the time. We got picked up by 3 separate truckers. Only one tried to get gropey with me, but his driving partner stopped that from happening. I had gone into the back to sleep for a bit and his partner was back there. When he tried to touch me, I yelled at him and went back up front. The guy driving had 2 daughters my age and he went off on his partner for trying to molest me. So I got saved by that driver. The other truckers were very nice, luckily. To think we could've been picked up by Robert or some other serial killer makes me feel sick. We were young and stupid and it could've gotten us killed! I'm 53 now. Happy to be alive!
Oh wow 😮 I’m so glad that you are ok and his partner was a decent human being ! People are insane 🤮 Thanks for sharing your story, hopefully it’ll help deter someone else from hitchhiking ❤
It's disgusting that the truck driver SA'd you. I'm so angry on your behalf, why is it so hard for these men to just...not grope women, let alone teenagers? What on earth did your bf do, did he do anything to protect you?
I'm not sure, sometimes the "deal" clinches a case where the perp might have gone totally free instead of getting something at least... esp when due to a lack of hard 100% evidence because thats your duty as a juror is are they without a doubt guilty and sometimes you have to say no even if in your heart of hearts you can feel it
@@Chalamaha imagine if she had just a single brain cell - she would've known getting into a stranger's truck would've been a bad idea - she'd still be alive. Crazy.
@@ErikaTBusit's not victim blaming - it's the sad truth. She did make a poor choice, and if we can learn from it and teach others from it, then that's important. We must teach our children that their choices have consequences. They absolutely play a crucial role in many things that befall them. This is not hateful to say - it's love.
My daughter is 14. I randomly think about Regina Kay Walters and the depth of cruelty and depravity are breathtakingly horrific. I wish I could have helped her. My daughter is still a kid who watches cartoon movies and likes drawing. To think of the pure torture a CHILD was put through for weeks is infuriating to say the least, he better be glad I can’t decide his punishment because he’d get a taste of the medieval era.
I think that a lot about crime victims on these shows. It's a horrible feeling but gives me resolve that I will act if I ever see something I know is not right. A few weeks ago, a child on her way home from school was approached by a strange man in a van. Older kids intervened, and she was fine. When the police came around, I totally had that license plate. I'm a smoker, and a van circling our block 12 times at 3PM when school gets out is very strange in my neighborhood. So I made up an acronym, like Peter Eats Pizza, 3 Times Daily (not the plate). The police were like, how? I watch a lot of True Crime on UA-cam?
I ran away with a stranger at 14, in January 1990. I thank God everyday that I made it back to South Carolina after going to California with him… these stories are chilling. 😢
@@GenXfrom75i remember being 14, and now I have an almost 15yo daughter. Scares me to death! When my step daughter was 15 she started shooting dope. It took 13yrs to get her to finally get clean. Tbf we've tried to move away from slavery and burning people at the stake for witchcraft. Plus the amount of murderous psychopaths and sociopaths is a fraction of the many people who inhabit this world.
Stories like this make me feel so sad for all of the missing people and their families who will never be found because they're probably victims of monsters like this man.
And what makes these people the worst is because they travel so much so back then you couldn't pin everywhere they been at all times do bodies could be anywhere at anytime and very hard to link bodies from other states or cities. Makes it way harder to solve and get all case details perfect.
@@chrislong8559absolutely 💯 Now that precincts actually communicate w each other, it's easier. But back then, no one talked to each other, there was no nation-wide database, nothing. God, those poor ppl.
I once worked with two pretty surfer type sisters, who told me they once hitched to get to the beach, and got picked up by a guy in a panelvan… This guy did the whole lock them in, and drove off into a deserted track thing… He gets out the car all macho, telling them all sorts of things to scare them… Then he says: “I hope you are scared! Now get back in the car and never hitch again!” He told them his sister was hurt by hitching, so he wanted to teach them a lesson. Good on him. I hope it worked.
Yes, cuz. event today, after thousands have died to tell us, people still get into the company of or into the vehicle of someone they DO NOT know. Always ask yourself "he seems normal now, but when I get there, he is in control and if he turns out to be a psycho, how will I get away!?"
I grew up in germany 70s and 80s, very safe but we were told from a very young age to never hitchhike because our parents heard some of the stories of serial killers in the US. I dont understand why ppl who lived there never took it that serious. Everyone and any situation can turn into a dangerous event and you can't get away. US is even worse with access to firearms. They heard the stories too but how could they think this won't happen to me when you are literally in the country with the most dangerous serial killers running around. We were scared as teenager and never went into a strangers car to hitchhike. We took the train or walked
@@karaamundson3964 Oh well. They could have learned their lesson the hard way, with their family and friends never knowing what happened to them ever again.
I teach Freshmen now and can't imagine a 14yo like Regina having to deal with this horror. I also (in passing) share with my kiddos that I taught a Crime Scene elective course for middle schoolers over 20 years ago and the rules since the late 80's have always been: DON'T HITCH HIKE EVER and don't let anyone take you away to another "site" no matter what. Many of my students tell me that their parents never discuss this with them. We are good about telling our children "not to talk" to strangers when they are little, but we need to help protect them (without scaring them to death) from the weirdos as well.
I taught high school for a couple of years, and had kids talk about wanting to hitchhike all the time. I think I scared them pretty good with stories from my retired cop dad, but yikes. The fact that anyone would hitchhike now days is terrifying.
I was a teenager in the 70's and I used to hitchhike back and forth between Oklahoma and Minnesota. I ALWAYS carried a very sharp Buck knife and a paperclip hidden in my waistband, a trick I learned from a trucker who gave me a ride once. He showed me how to use it to pick handcuffs, saying, "There are a lot of sickos out there. You never trust ANYONE." Fortunately, being a male and fairly fit at the time, I never had any issues with my rides. Today, if I were a teenager or just younger, I would NEVER hitchhike again.
Yeah the age we're in REALLY isn't conducive to hitchhiking. Though truthfully neither was the days you did it. Glad nothing bad happened to you. I'd say being a fit male was probably also heavily played in your favor. I'd think females probably fell more on the risk level. Terrifying. Yeah I've dealt with enough weirdos and propositions from encounters with strangers just for being a "freak". Many assumed coz of my style that I was into freaky sex stuff with anyone who propositioned me. So disturbing. I never would've put myself in that situation being a teen in the 90s, there's no way that wouldn't have invited VERY UNWANTED ATTENTION & advances as well as GODS ONLY KNOWS WHAT ELSE!!
Yeah those criminals scare me the most. The depths of their depravity seems to have no limits. I wish it wasn't possible for someone to get those two kinds of things interconnected in the demented ways that they do because in my opinion they are the worst kind of violent monster's.
The problem with most grapes these days is the victim only dies because the rapist doesn't want to get ided. Don't get me wrong there's some out there with that intent too, bit I'm willing to bet a majority of them only happen for that reason. Which is very unnecessary for the victim. Even if the victim swore up and down they wouldn't tell, nobody wants to take that risk but if they did there would be alot more alive. Also all the cameras these days.
Great video! Disturbing... I'm 59 and when I think of the things we got away with, like hitch-hiking all over the place, skipping school and hanging out in the pool hall, the sheer amount of danger we were in and thought nothing of it, it's sobering, to be sure.
That’s what I was thinking. I am terrified for my younger self. And horrified, that my children would do what I did. ( hitchhiking home because a boy didn’t like me. ) So naïve!
I feel so sorry you live in a place where you are constantly in danger. I have lived with strangers and acquainrances all over the world, including Ukraine, the middle east, etc. The US is such a wicked place, everyone constantly on edge, scared, armed, no healthcare. What exactly makes you the land of the free?
Yep there was a guy who told my friend that almost 30 years ago and what he told him when they were alone he told me he never wanted me out of his sight again.
I knew a lady from work, in Orlando around this time, and she disappeared and the last witnesses said she left a tavern (she frequented after work, it was down the road…) with some “cowboy” in a “Black 1988 Kenworth tractor-trailer with a sleeper cab and a wind spoiler”. I wonder if this was the guy…. Her parents died searching for her. So sad.
As Mike pointed out, there are a small minority of truckers who engage in this kind of thing. There are a lot of guys doing this. It might have been this same one, or another one with a similar, very common, truck cab. Not that it matters much. I hope that they identify her remains for any remaining family she has.
I volunteered for The Runaway Hotline while I was attending the University of Texas at Austin. It is a National hotline. If you or anyone you know ever needs help, send them there. They work with the police, shelters and the Greyhound bus line. They will make sure that the runaway is safe and make plans to get her or him off the streets. I live in Ireland now but I know it is still around. God Bless ❤❤
Thank you for sharing! I’ve utilized crisis hotlines before and have had one specific memorable experience - the lady I spoke to was so kind to me. Thank you for giving your time, that’s a wonderful way to give back to the community!!
Talk about terrifying, this is one of the scariest Chapters you've told, Mike. To think ppl like this existed, or could be out there right now, is absolute nightmare fuel
I watch a lot of crime stories but this foul man definitely stands out as one of the most sick and depraved humans I have come across. The pain, fear and suffering those poor girls went through for weeks on end is just too aweful to think about.
I've done long haul for over 23 years . There's no telling who or what you'll run into out here. Seen some crazy and even unexplainable things..but holy hell this robert is pure evil
The man needs to be kept under the most barest of condition to maintain his life for as long as it can be maintained alive. Cold, isolated, in complete silence and constant white light.
I don't understand why police couldn't question him without the victim pointing him out, especially when they acknowledged her account matched him and they saw she was terrified and traumatized.
Robert Rhodes story freaks me out. The winter of 1976 still haunts me. I had a friend in college that I went to visit. It was on hour + drive, mainly interstate driving. Rather then spend the night, I had to drive back home due to work in the morning. There was literally no traffic either direction. A semi truck came up behind me & stayed close for a while. As a single 19 year old girl, I never gave it a thought. Then the trucker passed me, turned his signal on & pulled into my lane. Ok, no worries until he dropped his speed well below the limit. So I passed him. We did this several more times & now I was getting nervous. While he was in front of me, a second truck came up behind me. As the second truck passed me, the first truck started picking up speed. The 2 trucks gained so much distance from me, I couldn't see their lights any longer. What a relief. I kept thinking what on earth had the first truck been doing playing the back & forth game with me. Oh well, it was over . . . until I saw a truck pulled off to the side. As I passed it I saw it was the first truck & now he pulled out behind me! Oh crap. Again he passed me & starting slowing down. This time I stayed behind him until an exit came & I waited till the last second & flew onto the exit ramp. Hate to think what was on the truckers mind.

Canada: At times over the years British Columbia (1990s), I (female) was travelling either East to West way up North, or North to South. Stuck in snowstorms/white outs - truckers always helped me. I could stay close behind and they led the way breaking through the deep snow. They also lighted up the path I had to drive. They would lead and guide me - without those men, I don't think I and my children could have made it alive. I highly respect them.
Mike is such a reliable creator, and I always feel that he tells the story with such a large amount of respect for the victims. He seems like a nice guy.
Looking at Regina and her boyfriend’s pic, all I can see is really, really young teenagers, possibly listening to too much Bon Jovi… To start so innocently, and to end so horribly, being aware of that evil; I hope they are at peace now. 🙏🏻
Somewhat unrelated.. I'm SO sick of Bon Jovi and Nirvana at this point!! All the radio stations in my area play the f**k out of them every day all day long, every month, all year long! A few other bands too! So much great music out there and the radio bites SO HARD!! It's always the same songs by the same bands Every Single Day!! Some of the bands have tons of good songs but the radio insists on playing only 2 of the same songs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over to forever! And YES!! If I could listen to Mike's podcast all day at work, that'd be wonderful but unfortunately, half my route is in areas where I get zero reception. So all I get is the spinning wheel of 💀☠️ The radio barely comes in in certain spots! imagine ordering stuff, sending away for it, and to have it delivered cross country by a serial killer posing as a truck driver. especially if the stuff you order for is crime-related, like, oh, say, books about serial killers. really spooky.
I can imagine that the poor woman who was held for 2 weeks was terrified to id him. I however cannot imagine (nor do I want to) what she endured at his hands. I hope she received mental health services 😢
I feel bad for what she went through, but it was incredibly selfish to not ID him. She could’ve saved so many lives and yet she decided to let him walk free without even trying to get him put away.
It isn't selfishness, it is complex and acute trauma. She probably couldn't. When a human being has been repeatedly raped, tortured, dehumanized and driven insane - they are not living in the same universe as normal people. She could even have had temporary facial amnesia due to protective mechanisms, but a subconscious part could have been sceaming YES THAT IS HIM... but the trauma froze her. Please have some humility and compassion. Have you heard of shellshock? Well this is it. If she regained her sanity after, a big if, she probably feels guilty. She shouldn't. Trauma, intense and profound is not like movie PTSD. I hope none of us ever go through even 1% what this woman went through. She's gone through what very few humans will ever. Second - I don't see the thread including the police in these statements, none of you. They could have kept him for 48 hours, questioned people around him, his ex, read into his DD, got a good judge to issue a warrant on his rig on the basis of her response, due diligence, or if not gotten other agencies to follow him etc etc. They could call the right folks in transport to have his rig tested for road worthiness. The list is long. Blaming a severely traumatized victim is not the way. Asking WHY she didn't with compassion and equanimity, researching, or even questioning yourself "is what I'm about to say harmful or helpful?" It is harmful to survivors who had little or no control over their mind at the time: they already feel guilty nd can't change the past. Helpful? Do you think your words will change the mind of a future victim of such a heinous insanely cruel and dehumanizing crime? Of course not. Temporary insanity doesn't work that way.. you'd be lucky to remember your own name after such a thing. Be safe out there, and kind.

@skotmatthews8940 you say definitely but why? We hear stories all the time of kids who commit suicide due to bullying at school but that can't be the case here? Once a family member that close commits suicide it is not uncommon for a child/sibling to act out due to grief. Adults don’t even handle such events well. Have you ever covered Ramon Salcido, who in 1989 went on a murder spree in Sonoma County in Northern California? He killed six family members, including four children, as well as a coworker. I live where it happened and remember it very clearly. This was just a few years before Polly Klaas, which happened here, too.
My best friend knew his wife, Angela. They had visited my friend’s family once, so when he went on the run after the murders they left town because they didn’t know if he’d come after them. Angela’s family were devout Catholics. She used to sneak out of the house at night and that’s how she met Ramon. I think she got pregnant and he was more or less forced to marry Angela. He killed Angela, then went to her parents’ house, raped and killed her sister and mother and took his very young children to a garbage dump where he sl*t their throats and left them to die. His young daughter survived and was adopted by a strict Catholic family (friends of Angela’s family). I think the whole spree started with Ramon killing his work supervisor and a co-worker, but I’m not sure. He was on death row until Gavin Newsom put a moratorium on executions in California. I hope he’s suffering, but Gavin is doing his best to take good care of prisoners. 🤬
I use to hitch hike when I was in my early 20's. I got most of my rides at truck stops, and I would fly a sign saying "Anywhere but here" or "Headed West". I was with my bf at the time and that did give me a false sense of security. It's wild how much I related to this. Nothing ever happened to me the years I was on the road, but I did meet a couple who had a very similar experience to this as well. They had to tuck and roll out of a moving truck and run through thick brush and woods to get away. The girl had taken her shoes off in the truck (bad idea) and she was all cut and bloodied on the bottoms of her feet from escaping. They hid, and when they finally heard the trailer leave they went to find police, who did take them seriously. I was very adventurous but very foolish and unaware. Its a wonder my bones aren't in a ditch somewhere in America.
In the early 90s I had had it with my day job & the morning traffic, so I took the overnight shift at a convenience store within walking distance. Very few encounters other than paper throwers stopping for fuel & coffee, but the strangers were really weird encounters. Probably the least weird was William Reese, confessed SK. Had two conversations with him over the course of two years, & he seemed to me a weakling who was very unsure of himself. Maybe he was just sizing me up? Being 5’10 & over 110 lbs, doesn’t make for an easy victim, most of their victims are under 5’4” & under 100 lbs. I’m just damn lucky to be taller.

Fifteen years is 180 months x three per month would put him closer to 400 murders! That’s absolutely insane what they suggested by that statement. I can’t even imagine!
Three per month was his peak. He most likely went some time between getting a new victim. I'd guess around 100 at most, but that is still extremely fucked up

There have been a couple of tv shows about this story. It’s heartbreaking, and that photo really shows Regina’s terror. At first I thought you were doing a story about David Ray Parker, he had a trailer set up with a gynecological chair, where he tortured and killed women. A woman escaped, and he was caught - it’s a story I’d love to see you do! Also, here in Nashville, police arrested a serial-killing truck driver, his name was Bruce Mendenhall. This is another story I’d love to see you present.
@@trcsunny2187 It really was horrible! I read a book about him, and it had photos of the inside of his “Toy Box”. To think of being held in a place like that for weeks, to be tortured by him, his wife & friends, knowing he won’t keep you alive forever, is shattering.

I miss being OTR. I miss my truck. I miss that life. It is long, lonely and exhausting. "Regular" people hate us. To most we are that big slow annoyance on the roads when they wanna speed past to get where they are going. Most don't realize that without us the shelves would be empty (or nearly so). We are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandmothers and grandfathers. I've met doctors, lawyers, farmers, business men, construction workers, etc who all gave up their professions to go trucking. For the one or two bad ones there are hundreds of thousands of good ones. Truckers are heroes. They give up time and money in times of emergency to haul emergency supplies. I love truckers and I love trucking.
Thank you, sir, for the job you did. My uncle was OTR so I grew up understanding everything the job entails. Its not easy and every one is not cut out for it. You guys never get the appreciation you deserve. My thanks once again.
My hometown of "Pasa-get-down-dena" makes it on "That Chapter." I was in 4th grade when O'Brian killed his son. When I got home to devour my Halloween haul after school on November 1st, to my horror I found my mother threw out all my candy. O'Brian didn't just murder his son, he killed Halloween for thousands of kids. To this day a still remember poor Timothy and have never eaten Pixy Stix since.
Yeah when I hear “candyman” I think of dean coryl, that was his actual nickname before his crimes were even suspected. And he was shot by Wayne Henley, one of his young accomplices he paid and groomed into finding his victims for him, and eventually even helping him to torture rape and murder them.
Very refreshing listening to you becuse your so much more animted than most channels. Not only are you very honest in the way you narrate your very funny in your own right! Keep it up!

Going back 20 some odd years ago, truck stop off Rte.78 near Bloomsbury NJ. Wee hours of the morning, a trucker walks into town (which is just across the road from the truck stop), trying the doorknobs of houses as he walks along the street. After about 6 houses or so, he finds an unlocked door. He walks in, finds a young single woman (I believe she was in her 30s). He harped and killed her. Several days later he was stopped for a traffic violation IIRC. One thing led to another and they found the woman’s belongings, which he kept as trophies. He was arrested and convicted of her murder. How many other victims he had we will never know. That he was caught at all was entirely due to chance. It’s a scary world out there-stay safe!

Had an old friend who knew everything about everybody in our town, & between the two of us we concluded that it was a ring of at least 5 guys who were responsible for most of those who were placed in that field. A peon took the fall for the leader who was a suspect for years & who had a lot of power in the town he resided in. Sadly, my friend passed away last year, while the ringleader still thrives; marrying someone just as wealthy & purchasing even more land. When I told the main investigator on the case, of his unwanted advances on me & a friend, he said that once he was named as suspect, they received over 120 calls from women who were assaulted by him, never bothering to take any of our statements.

A 14 year old runs away from a home where her sister committed suicide at age 12-makes me wonder what kind of home life these kids endured. How very tragic and sad. May they rest in peace.
That's a great question, really makes you wonder.
My family has been torn apart by suicide, and that was the death of an adult. A death of a 12 yr old child, that's another level of grief.
Suicide itself screams, "I hate you!" Loud and clear.
@@rosekeyes3189Sometimes.

I can’t even imagine what that poor girls family is going through. It’s one thing to find out your baby was murdered… but to have her last photos broadcasted out there, everywhere is utterly unthinkable. May all his victims rest in peace. May he rot in the hottest part of hell, forever.

Those photos of that poor girl are probably the most terrifying thing I've ever seen.
I’m not sure if I find them terrifying, but they are so haunting. Makes me want to cry
Gave me actual chills 😢
@evelynvslife I do. It's all there in her eyes. I may not have children, but my friends and family do-around that age too.

I'm not sure, sometimes the "deal" clinches a case where the perp might have gone totally free instead of getting something at least... esp when due to a lack of hard 100% evidence because thats your duty as a juror is are they without a doubt guilty and sometimes you have to say no even if in your heart of hearts you can feel it
Sometimes it's just a lose lose situation but oftentimes these deals help get a solid case.

My daughter is 14. I randomly think about Regina Kay Walters and the depth of cruelty and depravity are breathtakingly horrific. I wish I could have helped her. My daughter is still a kid who watches cartoon movies and likes drawing.
I teach Freshmen now and can't imagine a 14yo like Regina having to deal with this horror. Many of my students tell me that their parents never discuss this with them. We are good about telling our children "not to talk" to strangers when they are little, but we need to help protect them (without scaring them to death) from the weirdos as well.
I know, actually I have told daughter many times to remember the DTA, DON'T TRUST ANYONE!!!! Thanks Stone Cold Steve Austin!!!!
He had handcuffs?

Yeah the age we're in REALLY isn't conducive to hitchhiking.
Though truthfully neither was the days you did it.
Glad nothing bad happened to you. I'd say being a fit male was probably also heavily played in your favor.
I'd think females probably fell more on the risk level.

Yeah I've dealt with enough weirdos and propositions from encounters with strangers just for being a "freak". @@benmcreynolds8581 I'll certainly agree with that!
People with pure vengeance or revenge on the mind also do as horrendous things as well. Like the cartels.

Looking at Regina and her boyfriend’s pic, all I can see is really, really young teenagers, possibly listening to too much Bon Jovi…
To start so innocently, and to end so horribly, being aware of that evil; I hope they are at peace now. 🙏🏻
Somewhat unrelated..
I'm SO sick of Bon Jovi and Nirvana at this point!!
All the radio stations in my area play the f**k out of them every day all day long, every month, all year long!
A few other bands too!
So much great music out there and the radio bites SO HARD!!
It's always the same songs by the same bands
Every

Some of the bands have tons of good songs but the radio insists on playing only 2 of the same songs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over to forever!
And YES!!
If I could listen to Mike's podcast all day at work, that'd be wonderful but unfortunately, half my route is in areas where I get zero reception.
So all I get is the spinning wheel of 💀☠️
The radio barely comes in in certain spots!
And it doesn't matter where I am, different areas, different radio stations, they still play the f**k out of the same songs as the other stations!

Tom Petty
Queen
Aerosmith
Journey
Many many more

The same songs over and over and over and over and over...
I didn't realize Joan Jett only has 2 good songs that will get air time!
I now understand why people listen to talk radio!
At least that's fresh material daily!

I briefly remember hearing about this guy, and then it all came back when I saw the picture of Regina. Those pictures will never leave my mind -- absolutely haunting and horrific what happened to her. I definitely believe he has way more victims because of him being a trucker.
Samuel little wasn't a trucker but he traveled a bunch and unalived women everywhere he went across USA. I think 81 in total if you haven't heard of him.
@@chrislong8559 Oh yeah, he's another notorious killer as well, and you're right, also not a truck driver. I wonder how he got away with it for so long.

What’s the title?
@nadagabri5783 "Roadside Prey" is the book title. Seems online they're selling it for $40 to $60 and used nowaday. When I bought it, it was around $3 😬 although it was paperback, and part of the corner was torn on the front cover, didn't effect the pages.

Ehm.. no. A lot of channels go out of their way to focus on the victims instead of the murder?

I remember when these killings happened. I lived in a small Midwestern town close to an interstate ramp. They were telling people to watch for new semi drivers and certain types of truck models. Scary shit man
If you consider he said 15 years. Keeping them a week to a month for that long. Yeah he probably racked up a huge death count. The idea that Serial Killers do like to exploit jobs like the Truck driver is scary. All the more reason to be very cautious no matter what you are doing.

Thanks for holding back on the gruesome details. I've run across too many awful details along the way and really don't need more. I don't think there is any line that can't be crossed.
Yea
imagine ordering stuff, sending away for it, and to have it delivered cross country by a serial killer posing as a truck driver. especially if the stuff you order for is crime-related, like, oh, say, books about serial killers. really spooky.
Thanks!
I can imagine that the poor woman who was held for 2 weeks was terrified to id him. I however cannot imagine (nor do I want to) what she endured at his hands. I hope she received mental health services 😢
People are dead because of her cowardice to identify that guy
@@antoniodriskell2346
I agree. I cannot imagine being so horrendously selfish, even at her age.
Asking WHY she didn't with compassion and equanimity, researching, or even questioning yourself "is what I'm about to say harmful or helpful?"
It is harmful to survivors who had little or no control over their mind at the time: they already feel guilty nd can't change the past.
Helpful? Do you think your words will change the mind of a future victim of such a heinous insanely cruel and dehumanizing crime?
Of course not. Temporary insanity doesn't work that way.. you'd be lucky to remember your own name after such a thing.
Be safe out there, and kind.
@@antoniodriskell2346 I understand your anger and sentiment but my statement was never to insinuate that this victim was at all to blame. Absolutely not. How do you know how you would react in these extraordinary circumstances? Be kind
The big question is what is going on at home that one daughter supposedly committed suicide and the other one wanted to run away
Sadly it was definitely some sort of abuse, probably SA. Its disgusting just how common that stuff truly is
@@skotmatthews8940especially back then. No one spoke up or did something about it.

@skotmatthews8940 you say definitely but why? We hear stories all the time of kids who commit suicide due to bullying at school but that can't be the case here? Once a family member that close commits suicide it is not uncommon for a child/sibling to act out due to grief. Adults don’t even handle such events well. We don’t know what was going on so to say 'definitely’ is quite odd.

Never heard that one 😮
I was this way too. It freaks me out. I did not know how in danger I was. How naïve
@@sunshine3914 working overnights at convenient stores is one if the most dangerous jobs when it comes to crime. People don't realize how crazy it gets out there.
