  • Kyron Horman was excited to show off his science project. However, after his step mother, Terri Horman, waved at him as he walked to class, he marked absent, and mysterious disappeared. After the disappearance of Kyron Horman, many other bizarre things would happen, and the last person to see Kyron, Terri Horman, would only act more and more suspicious.

I just can't imagine two grown adults talking about how they hate a 7yr old. As a younger person I assumed people matured as they got older. It's situations like these that force you to realize how many old overgrown, decrepit, and selfish children roam the earth. Many ppl never grow out of their self-centred child mind.

Hate that this the outcome for her, but it does show the unwavering devotion and love from mother to child. There is a dichotomy of purity of love, and the tragic disgusting crime from a supposed somewhat "surrogate" parent and a child into a mixed family. Not at all saying that there is a large proportion of mixed families that don't work or end in tragedy, my point is more the comparative nature to contrast between such diametric opposites. And overall how tragic yet beautiful that a mothers love is so powerful.

If you can wait a month before reporting your child missing, get caught telling multiple versions of what happened, have google searches about killing, find blood and chemicals in the trunk... AND still get away with it by claiming innocence... then I’m hopeful committing any crime. Jesus Christ that case baffles me

@A Tangerine the defense in the Casey Anthony case presented plausibility that her father had done it, and Casey 's mother testified that it might have happened that way. Her parents worked to defend Casey.
In this case, we can't even say a crime was committed. A defense attorney will say, "could he have wandered into the woods behind the school and gotten lost?' it's a reasonable supposition.

@A B Them both taking eerie pictures right before they killed these young boys is one of the similarities that chills my soul. Gannon is asleep in his bed, and Kyron right in front of his science project. I think leticia made herself a suspect on day 2. All those crazy lies, and outrageous behavior. Terry didn't come across as a suspect until weeks into the investigation. I do hope she gets whats coming to her. And I hope she's never allowed to change her name. She should have to live with it for the rest of her miserable life. As far as leticia goes, her goose is cooked. Lol

I’ll never forget how hollow I felt, watching the billboards with Kyron’s sweet, smiling face age and tatter with time-further and further from being found…He went from a household name, talked about in assemblies across city schools, to a painful memory. I hope-even if it’s beyond hope-that Kyron’s whereabouts are uncovered. His family, and Kyron’s memory, deserve that closure.

What I don't understand is, within 90 minutes, Kyron could only be in a small area: Why can't they find him? My hope for the family is they find Kyron. It's been almost 12 years. There’s no way someone unknown walked into the school and was not stopped and asked what they were doing there, who their kid was, etc. Once my uncle came to pick me and my sister up and no one at the school knew him and so he was stopped from getting more than a couple steps into the building. Or that he wondered outside and someone took him in the ten min she saw him walking to class and class starting? Nothing about her story adds up. She lied and he must have left with her. Innocent people have been charged and imprisoned when courts used to base decisions on eyewitness testimony. There have been cases where witnesses claim to have seen victims even though later it turns out they were already dead, so what did those people see? the mind is unreliable. It's enough for people to believe someone is guilty and your mind will find a way to relate everything to prove they're guilty, even if they're not. All of these people in the comments screaming that they KNOW she killed him are proof of how flawed the human mind is. We don't know anything. She might be at fault, she might not be, depending on how we interpret the facts. For example, if Kyron really did have seizures that made him disoriented, he could've wandered off and been taken. Also, that's a big assumption that when you kill someone, especially a child, your best friend will be just as sick minded as you and just jump to help you cover it up and put their own ass on the line for you like that - that to me sounds unlikely and illogical. Also, what sort of a criminal mastermind Terri has to be that she managed to pull off a perfect crime and hide a body in less than an hour? Those are just some of the questions I have that shows to me we can't be sure 100% that she did it. That's why evidence is important and that's why she can't get charged, it would just be a waste of time and if she was guilty, that would let her get away with it. Let's just wait for this case to get solved some day.

The police are not your friend, they are not your friend when you are guilty and they are not your friend when you are innocent.. they are your friend when you are the victim of a crime.
Police sole purpose is to give the DA or as in Sweden "Åklagaren" enough evidence to close the case.
There are numerous cases where exonorating evidence are not presented for the reason of a conviction.. and it's absolutley unacceptable.
I dont know if she is innocent or not.. The only thing I know is at the moment, as an innocent the coppers begin to show interest in me, I would cease all cooperation.
Not becuase i'm guilty but because I don't want to serve anything that in hindsight could be scewed to pin me for something I had not done.
Just look at the case with the cop that they claimed murder his whole family, incorrect conviction. He was a cop and cooperated. David Camm is his name
Just go make a google search "Wrongful conviction in the US".
And please do remember.. that those are only the ones we know about :)
We have had the same issue in Sweden on a numerous occations, with total misshaps and misscarriages of justice.

Those are likely invented "memories" told to the lady writing the book. Note the cops didn't seem to have that information at the outset. That's likely because those people didn't see what they are saying they did. I'm not saying the stepmom didn't leave with the kid; it's most likely she did, given the circumstance. What I am saying is that those people have likely invented memories over time, or warped their memories of events, to suit what the lady writing the book was asking them. Any FBI agent will tell you that human beings are the worst possible witnesses. We warp our memories to suit our own importance to a story, or to fit a narrative some important person (such as an author or celebrity or lawyer) is feeding us. Yes, there are incompetent police forces around, but one that has actual witnesses that saw the perp leaving with the victim and don't arrest that person right away would be exceedingly rare. They didn't because those people did not come forward to them at the time, but to the author of the book, years later. They are simply not credible.

This case breaks my heart. His greatest fear was not finding his way home and he has been lost for 10 damn years! I believe the step mother had Kyron believing he had a doc appointment that day. They went set up his project. Did that bit then she told him she would take him and bring him back. He could leave his coat and bag because they wouldn't be long. She killed him and her friend having access to things like lime helped her put the body deep enough and covered enough that he won't be found. Most bodies are found because people don't take the time to bury it properly. If you have the tools and the time a body simply won't be found. The best friend and muscles the step mom could have prepared a grave prior for that matter. I hope that woman sees Kyron ever time she closed her eyes.

@@StamesJevens definitely, my mom was one of the people who brought her food and stuff after he went missing cause she didn’t want to leave her house, and my mom said she never really seemed “sad” like a mother should be

Too many children being killed by parents. It's not always easy to know someone has it in them. But I agree. Be VERY careful who you bring into your kids life and trust with their safety!

People need to think twice before assuming the stepmother is guilty despite the exonerating evidence. There is a reason the police never named her as a suspect and that's because there was exactly no evidence of her guilt and a great deal of evidence supporting her innocence. Mob mentality has convicted her despite the facts and it's pretty gross to watch.

i'm from portland and there are STILL missing posters for kyron up to this day, i saw one downtown just a couple months ago. i'm only a few years older than him and i remember at the time all of our parents got really paranoid and strict about us going out on our own, even to the school bus etc. i don't think anyone who's from here DOESN'T know about this case, it's so infamous

Disney got it right when they say "Evil Stepmother".
He was only 7 yrs old and trusted her. This story pulls the heart strings. May Kyron's memory be eternal.
