  • Jamie Licko unravels the challenges related to building great cities by putting people first and breaking all the rules. Take her journey from small town kid to city leader and find out what’s helped her break thorough old school thinking and politics to create new urban communities.
For more than 15 years, Jamie Licko has been shaping the evolution of cities, neighborhoods and districts, as they face change, challenge and growth. Licko has focused her career on nurturing public/private partnerships and utilizing unique approaches to keep local community fabric intact even as places face changing social and economic realities. Jamie’s consulting company Centro Inc. has provided service to clients in more than 50 cities in 15 states across North America, as well as in the United Kingdom and Singapore. Recently, Licko has been leading efforts in the RiNo Art District as it faces unprecedented development pressure, guiding the neighborhood to form special districts and to bolster its efforts to protect the character and creatives that have brought RiNo to the fore. She currently serves as RiNo’s executive director, and continues to work on special projects both locally and internationally.

I voted for Mrs. Giellis (formerly Ms. Licko) for Denver Mayor as I truly believe that she's walk the walk not just talked the talk and understands the complexity of bridging developers and neighbors that will be more of a win win that what we've been experiencing in my hometown of Denver these past number of years where it's been nothing but pay to play.

Our neighborhood is not a sandbox to be played in. "A place that has been forgotten..." & now "DISCOVERED"? That's good talk COLUMBUS. So, we are looking forward to your plans, as a self proclaimed "urban therapist", for treating the EXISTING population & residents of the Curtis Park/Eastside/5 Points area (currently re-coined RiNo) for their traumatic PTSD of the way things ARE & HAVE BEEN. The homeless are also in DIRE need of therapy.....line up the troops. Let's heal the PEOPLE...shall we? #PuttingPeopleFirst
