So refreshing to hear people speaking more on responsible travel. It's very important to always give back to the destinations in which you visit to benefit both the local communities and yourself!
Such an awesome talk, Shannon!! So grateful to be a media member of ATTA, where these issues are at the forefront of why we travel and what we hope to promote by prompting people to travel.
Inspiring, challenging, hope-filled. You steward well the social-cultural and environmental implications of tourism and economic development. And Kurdistan is all that you say it is! I've been there twice in past 2 years--and once with my daughter who also loved the people, culture, land and cuisine of the Kurdish people.
What a happy accident, to come across this story. I just googled you, Shannon to find how to get in touch with a specific question (which is if you'd be able to share where the turtle/wildlife rehabilitation center is located in Brasil, we are planning a family trip and I'd love to incorporate a field trip to teach our daughters about the effect of plastics on the environment), only to discover that you're the founder of ATTA and are from Monroe Washington! We just moved from Monroe to Argentina with our kids for two years. Anyway, I haven't found an email address so I thought I"d attempt 'contacting you' here. ;)
Love being a part of ATTA! Thanks for leading us Shannon and keep taking us deeper!
