    Fundamentally, if you're reading a book a day but not because you love books, your life isn't going to feel like it has been improved all that much. Anyway, as a person who loves books and literature, I would say quality is more important than quantity.

      Chris Smith Well it's called innovation. Most other companies are stagnant in their thinking therefore it's cheaper to copy. But we will see where Apple goes now. The watch was the dumbest idea, their IPhones are old and Media players are obsolescent. Their next play is TV.

    • @ChrisSmith-il5qe

    I’ve been a bookworm since childhood. It still is one of my fave ways of exploring. I was always fascinated by the power of language and how words are used to impact people.
    I was awed by the way authors played with words to express their beliefs and ideas, not just to describe events.
    I sincerely believe that reading does help you broaden your horizon but you shouldn’t rely on books only (like many people do). The best way is to try, test, do mistakes, try again, go through lessons and experiences of life. Especially when it comes to books around business & mindset.
    I’ve noticed that nowadays many people read for the sake of showing off. Or they read a ton of books for the sake of ticking it of the list. This knowledge is worth nothing if you’re not applying it.
    Reading books for the sake of reading? Not my thing.
    Read books not out of FOMO (fear of missing out) just because someone recommended you a great book.
    I used to read A LOT of books and always thought it was a good thing.
    I was trying to absorb maximum knowledge because I thought only that way I will be able to change something in my life. The reason was lack of confidence in my own powers.
    I was trying to fill the emptiness within by borrowing someone else’s experience.
    But the best experience comes from living your own path, exploring yourself & your strengths.
    Go out and try things.
    Do things your way.
    Even if it’s not mentioned in the books.
    Test it out. If it doesn’t work, that’s an experience to remember.
    What if it does work though?

I took Tai's advice (advice collected from research and experience) and have applied it in my life. It is not a scam. It is not a get rich quick scheme. No... no I'm not, I'm just a very happy customer, and I think it's a bit unfair that people are basing all these theories off very little actual fact. When you think about it from a psychological perspective it make sense though, generally when people become successful others will try to bring them down to their level, so will use anything they can find to do that, this comment section is a classic example of that.

    HERE IN MY GARAAAAAAAAAGGE

  • @PhysicsMathMan
    @PhysicsMathMan 8 років тому +36

    Here in my garage, just bought this new Lamborghini here....
    It’s fun to drive up here in the Hollywood hills. But you know what I like more than materialistic things? Knowledge. In fact, I’m a lot more proud of these seven new bookshelves that I had to get installed to hold two thousand new books that I bought. It’s like the billionaire Warren Buffett says, “the more you learn, the more you earn.”
    Now maybe you’ve seen my TEDx talk where I talk about how I read a book a day. You know, I read a book a day not to show off it’s again about the knowledge. In fact, the real reason I keep this Lamborghini here is that it’s a reminder. A reminder that dreams are still possible, because it wasn’t that long ago that I was in a little town across the country sleeping on a couch in a mobile home with only forty seven dollars in my bank account. I didn’t have a college degree, I had no opportunities.
    But you know what? Something happened that changed my life. I bumped into a mentor. And another mentor. And a few more mentors. I found five mentors. And they showed me what they did to become multimillionaires. Again, it’s not just about money, it’s about the good life; health, wealth, love and happiness. And so I record a little video, it’s actually on my website, you can click here on this video and it’ll take you to my website where I share three things that they taught me. Three things that you can implement today no matter where you are.
    Now, this isn’t a “get rich quick” scheme. You know, like they say if things sound too good to be true they are too good to be true. I’m not promising you that tomorrow you’re gonna be able to go out and buy a Lamborghini. But what I am telling you is that it can happen faster than you think if you know the proven steps. So, I record a little two minute video on my website. Like I said, now it’s not the most professional I just shot it here with my iPhone, but it’s real. Nobody can argue, this is my true story. And I’m going to give you the three most important things you can do today. So click the link, go there it’s completely free to watch it it’s just a couple minutes. Invest in yourself. Always be curious. Don’t be a cynic. Okay, people see videos like this and they say “Ah that’s not real that’s for somebody else.”
    Don’t listen, don’t listen. Be an optimist. Like, Conrad Hilton, the man who started Hilton Hotel, he said that he was only fifteen years old when he read a book by Helen Keller, and that book changed his life. Books can change your life. And in that book, Helen Keller said “optimism” so if you’re a cynic, if you’re a pessimist you don’t need to click here. Don’t worry about it, I don’t need to talk to everybody. But if you’re somebody who knows that there’s something better, cause the dream is possible, you know, for some of you watching it’s not necessarily a Lamborghini, maybe it’s a new job, a new opportunity, starting your own company.

      +John Teoh It's cool if he wants to be an inspirational public speaker, but one key element to public speaking is credibility. When you lie and are caught for it, you lose credibility. The audience decides credibility. I forget who it's by, probably h3h3productions, but someone pointed him out on one of his UA-cam ads in that he claims to own this mansion when the uploader showed a side by side comparison of a rentable mansion that looked exactly the same. Do a bit of research before ridiculing the majority.

Obviously if you read a book from someone very knowledgeable you could glean some of the knowledge that helped them be successful. As for "Toughen up" Once you start getting comfortable with something you'll stagnant and never venture out of your comfort zone. He never said "don't really read it" he said to read the most important part of the book. I don't understand why there is so much hate in the comments. He is giving good advice.

Also Tai Lopez approach is aggressive - he sends a loads of emails every day, recommending different guys with different offers - books, courses etc.

      Exercise and the Brain I don’t know of Dr. Larry, but I’m listening to him now that you mentioned him. I’m actually a student at Southern baptist theological Seminary. The western tradition is steeped in natural law and natural law is steeped in metaphysical assumptions. The good must extend beyond self. Tai wants to assume the understanding of good, while divorcing it from “who” the good is. He is endorsing autonomy and relativity which is inconsistent. To tell someone they should read and then go telling them that reading is good for relative and preferential reasons fails to give reasons for why others should read. He would do better to talk about why he reads. Which is silly to give a formal speech about when the reasons are this shallow.

    • @Parks179-h
      @Parks179-h 4 роки тому +1

      Exercise and the Brain which is exactly why he connects “the good life” with reading while having a shallow understanding of that “the good life is”. Who you read is more important than “just reading”.
