Nice selection in size and color of sea glass, especially the yellow and red orange ones.Tim. Ever try etching symbols or initials into the powdery looking glass? Bet that would be cool. Worth an experiment.
regarding etching into the glass... we haven't. I just drill the glass at different locations on the piece depending on it's size and and the different types of jewelry we plan to make. Earrings have the pieces drilled in the middle. Pendent type pieces will have their hole drilled near the top area to accommodate a 1mm ring.
Can’t wait to be out there in September looking for glass with my 80 year old Mom! I love sea glass hunting here and she is so excited to join me! I try to hunt here every time I come your way from my home in Iowa. Thanks for the tips!
Hi Tim, I have a question, how much time do you usually get before you have to start worrying about the tide. Is there a good time to go. I live about 2 hours away and would love to make a day trip of this. Thanks
It really depends on the tide schedule for each day. Just get a tide app for your phone and always try to be off the beach before it reaches 7.5 ft. At that height there are beach areas that begin to be covered by the waves. So, I never start a hike out to glass beach until the tide has dropped below 7.5ft and always make it back before it reaches that level again. Each day will be different based on the tide schedule.
Tim Blair Thank you for the info, much appreciated. I just wanted to make sure I would have at least 3 hours of hunting to make it worth my 2 hour drive each way. 😉 Thank you again
Such beautiful colors! It’s worth the hunt if you can still find such pretty pieces!

Thank you Tim. My health is not going to permit me to make this trek in the near future, so it was fun to follow you . Blessings ! Kris from Bremerton
