It was really amazing, definitely should be added to the list! Not too touristy at all - our guide mentioned they're mostly domestic tourists anyway. Food ep is dropping tonight, hope you enjoy!
the only tourist you will find in Asturias are either northern europeans who are "allergic" to the heat of anywhere else in Spain and Spanish tourist (us Spaniards in abundance). So glad you've visited my homeplace! It has a lot of hidden beauties (such as the Indian houses of Colombres or Pria's blowholes, Tito Bustillo cave, etc), and the best part is the food (no doubt). I hope you really enjoyed it. As an Asturian i'm in love with my land but i also need to go abroad and then come back to appreacite it more, 'cause there's a saying that says something like 'you always want whatever you don't have'. As people in the comments says, Spain has a lot of contrasts depending on the region (North, Castile, South, the capital city of madrid, Barcelona, Canarias...), it's fun. Thank you guys for such amazing video, a big hug!
Yup - we're from NZ! We definitely see what you're saying about leaving to appreciate - we travel 11 months of the year and go back to NZ and love what we see all over again. Thanks, so much, for such beautiful videos of Northern Spain. We spent 7 days in Basque country last year. We are currently making plans to spend 10 days in Northern Spain this year. You're vids are a tremendous help with our itinerary. Cheers to you and yours
I spend all my summers there and it was so interesting too see your perception of it guys 😊 it’s literally like the chillest place in Spain, I always say I wanna retire there lol (I live in Madrid). I’m gonna suscribe and I’ll keep watching you are really nice!
In Asturias there are underrated places too. You need to visit western Asturias, it has so much to offer, and it is even more unknown, even for the spaniards
The north is....endless in a way that....one never fails to fid new and beautiful corners....I'm fm El Bierzo (Leon) and go visit almost every yr.....and every time i enjoy it more....
I'm from Spain and I live around the middle (in Aragón) and I love the north. The weather in summer is really different from where I live, it's not that hot and you can stay outside without dying or something. Everything looks so beautiful and green. When I go there I usually stay in a small village lost in the mountain but near the beach. All I can say that it's totally worth it and I really recommend going to the north.
I loved it. I went to all the different regions of spain..the north is really cool. From the coastline to the mountains to the valleys its really pretty. Middle age ruins are all around. Although Basque country was my least favorite. La rosia, cantinbria, Asturias, and galacia were very cool culturally to. The National Park of europia is awesome. One of the few places in europe that its easy to see wild big game..
Great video, I have Spanish friends that live in Luanco and have visited Asturias twice. The scenery and the beaches fantastic also the cider, the drive up to the lakes above Covadonga is must place to visit. Note. Asturias is pronounced as “a” in apple.
The Asturians are similar to the Scottish. Both are Celtic. Both also play the pipe stacks. The only difference the Asturians don't wear the kilt like the Scottish wear.
I live in Asturias, is completly different than the rest of Spain. Celtics and Vikings lived here, and the winter is very cold. If yo go to the forest or the mountain, please, be carefull. Is full of wolves (i LOVE them)
Everytime that I read/hear a foreigner talking about the North of Spain and how underrated is I am glad and angry at the same time. The North of Spain has been there always. Its food. Its culture and folklore. Its mountains and beaches. Its proper snow season and all... Perhaps the North remains undiscovered because that's what the average tourist wants. Cheap beer. Cheap food. Sun sun sun and be surrounded by fellow english speakers and is too lazy to go on its own? Glad You enjoyed your visit and thanks for sharing your experience. You still need to go to Galicia and specialy the Basque Country. :)
Can pretty much agree with what you've said. The reality is, even the Spanish tourism board understands that the North is less visited, or considered, for tourists so want people to be more aware of the options Spain has to offer. There's got to be a tonne of people visiting the same spots that arent just after cheap beer, cheap food and sun and would be stoked to know there are amazing options up North.
Come to Aragón, full of history and the roots of Spain. Navarra is really nice too :) I love all my country, I,m just telling places that are not so know for foreigners as Catalonia, or baelaric Islands for instance 😊
Daneger and Stacey traditionally the people with money in Spain went to the north to spend the summers there , what is today All the most famous costas were fishing holidays , no one contemplated to go there to spend the summers when it was so hot .
kosmo where did you get that infomation from? because that’s false 😂 and just for the record, Cantabria, Galicia, and Euskadi (The basque country) are probably better. I’m Spaniard, and nobody, absolutely nobody say such a thing gilipollas lol
As spaniard, i don´t agree. Asturias is a good place, but is not the most beautiful of the north. If you only know it in the north, problably you think that, but is only because you have not gone to other places with many more green places and full of architecture, or incredible mountains much better than those that appear in that video. Compared to the rest of the north, Asturias is 7 out of 10 as much. (And especially for the gastronomy!!!)
thekodrek I personally think Cantabria has better scenary landscape than Asturias, the most “complete” region in my opinion is Catalonia (I’m not Catalan) but you have everything there! Mediterranean clinate, alpine climate, the pyrenees, beautiful towns like Girona, Besalú, etc....Of course, this is matter of opinion, nobodys wrong, but claiming that “All Spaniads” say such a thing false lol
The Asturian Pre-Romanesque architecture is unique in Europe, one of the oldest after the Roman Period, previous to the Romanesque style (as its name suggests), buildings of 1200 years of age. The Museum of Art is also an amazing Museum and the Archaelogical Museum as well. Besides the landscapes and food you have to visit the caves with extraordinary Stone Age paintings, not very known even in Spain. There are many treasures to see in Asturias. It's worth visiting and eating fish or meat, and the Cabrales cheese...
Oviedo appears in Woody Allen's film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" (not his best film, Im afraid) after he was awarded with the "Príncipe de Asturias". He thanked the town by filming parts of Asturias in this movie. He added several parts of Avilés as well (he loves lighthouses, dont know why). It was a way of thanking the warm welcome he received there, people in Spain like his movies more than in the USA and the reason you can find his portrait in Oviedo, if anyone wonders why, and its shown in one of these videos...
Next time check out Santiago De Compostela, amazing little city, a tourist mecca, apparently the 4th busiest tourist spot on the planet, not sure about that, but the food and old city charm are something to behold, throughly recommend it.
A large part of European tourists are low cost and only go to the beach to get pink fuscia. They think that Spain is just that . Sun, food and flamenco, toros y jamon.

This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Spain has snow-capped mountains, lush forests, great steppe plains, rivers, lakes, beaches, deserts, and several different climates, Mediterranean, Atlantic, subtropical, high mountains ... it has such an extensive history that they have passed through it and left their monuments the first Neolithic settlers of Europe, the Phoenicians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Arabs ... it has Palaeolithic constructions, Roman, Arab, Gothic, medieval, Renaissance monuments and of the industrialization of the XIX century. ,her variety climatic and historical is impressive.

It is so beautiful! Wait till you see the next video, it's a magical place
I can't get over how beautiful it is there. I didn't know what to expect.
It's stunning! We really hope we can go back some time soon

Thank you so much - glad you enjoyed! Theres so much more to offer in the North, we hope to come back and visit for longer, and further, next time :)
So pleased you decided to visit Northern Spain! It's a beautiful part of the country. I hope you make it to Basque Country.
It's a stunning place! Sadly just a quick taster for 48 hours in the region/Spain, but we're sold and will be coming back for sure.
Que bonito es mi país !! El más bonito del mundo !!
Etnocentrista!
It also has a tradition of bagpiping
🏆 Oh really? We didnt see any of that, but wish we did!

@Alarismos, Why?
Wait.. are you from NZ?! Well, you have nothing to envy here! a wonderful place i hope to visit one day. pd: one more follower here jajaj
Yup - we're from NZ! We definitely see what you're saying about leaving to appreciate - we travel 11 months of the year and go back to NZ and love what we see all over again. We can definitely see the beauty in everything though and Asturias wasn't even difficult to spot it, we loved the feeling there and definitely hope we can return and see more.
This brings back memories! I'm from Catalunya, and I went to Asturias last Christmas with my family, and I was so happy to recognize all the sites you showed here! Asturias is one of my fave places in Spain. I'm currently living in Toronto, and I miss Catalunya and Spain so much!
So glad we can show you/remind you how amazing it is! Hope all is well in Toronto :)
Thanks, so much, for such beautiful videos of Northern Spain. We spent 7 days in Basque country last year. We are currently making plans to spend 10 days in Northern Spain this year. You're vids are a tremendous help with our itinerary. Cheers to you and yours
Amazing to hear, thanks so much and have a great trip!
Gracias 🇪🇸
I spend all my summers there and it was so interesting too see your perception of it guys 😊 it’s literally like the chillest place in Spain, I always say I wanna retire there lol (I live in Madrid). I’m gonna suscribe and I’ll keep watching you are really nice!
So cool to hear! It is such a cool part of the country, loved the vibe there, can't wait to return already... especially for the cidre!
Asturias is very beautiful! Such as Galicia and Cantabria. Greetings from Oviedo!
In Asturias there are underrated places too. You need to visit western Asturias, it has so much to offer, and it is even more unknown, even for the spaniards
Agree. Luarca, Tapia, Castropol are second to none, and los Oscos is the most exhuberant hiking route I've ever seen.
Spain is my favorite Europe Country, my family came from Spain ❤️
Amazing place!
My great-great grandparents were from there! So happy you enjoyed Asturias, it's years I am looking forward to visit my ancestor's land ^^
3:00 there's a beautiful story ablut this dog. He was a homeless dog long ago and everyone feeded him. He was very sweet with everyone.
We've heard about this - so magical! What a great story
NEXT STOP: Galiza
The north is....endless in a way that....one never fails to fid new and beautiful corners....I'm fm El Bierzo (Leon) and go visit almost every yr.....and every time i enjoy it more....
It definitely seems that way - so much more for us to see and discover!
Place with the best cocido in the world.
I have yet to consider northern Spain. I'm a foodie channel so am eagerly awaiting your mega food vlog! Immense aerial shots!
We're not great with the food stuff, but will be sharing that mega all you can eat food vlog on Monday :)
Muchísimas .gracias .por visitar ,España.
Gracias
I'm from Spain and I live around the middle (in Aragón) and I love the north. The weather in summer is really different from where I live, it's not that hot and you can stay outside without dying or something. Everything looks so beautiful and green. When I go there I usually stay in a small village lost in the mountain but near the beach. All I can say that it's totally worth it and I really recommend going to the north.
Pls come to basque country
We've heard it's amazing - next time hopefully. NZ Love? That as in New Zealand?
Spain is not only Madrid+Barcelona+Islands.
Agreed! Hope we've helped show lots of people that
If you come back to Asturias, I suggest you visit EL MIRADOR DE FITU, LOS BUFONES DE PRIA and CUEVAS DEL MAR.
Great video, I have Spanish friends that live in Luanco and have visited Asturias twice. The scenery and the beaches fantastic also the cider, the drive up to the lakes above Covadonga is must place to visit. Note. Asturias is pronounced as “a” in apple.
Spain or Scotland???
Spain :)
Spain. outstanding country
Jose Manuel Ros Muñoz
SPAIN no comparison.
The Asturians are similar to the Scottish. Both are Celtic. Both also play the pipe stacks. The only difference the Asturians don't wear the kilt like the Scottish wear.
Love how you say it’s very elegant. It’s such a beautiful city with great people and traditions/history. So happy you enjoyed your time in Asturias.
Definitely had an elegant vibe to it! Totally agree :)
I live in Asturias, is completly different than the rest of Spain. Celtics and Vikings lived here, and the winter is very cold.
If yo go to the forest or the mountain, please, be carefull. Is full of wolves (i LOVE them)
Absolutely awesome . What kind of music on 5.45.?
I am from Asturias, i totally agree. Do not forget Cantabria either
Please visit Cantabria, it's just amazing
Have heard that! Will definitely explore more next time.
The north of Spain is like Ireland, the south of Spain is like Morocco. It is a beatiful country, full of contrasts.
The south it's not like Morocco AT ALL XD
Morocco? What Morocco in Narnia?
Ignorant.
All Spaniards say that Asturias is the most beautiful region of spain, they call it Asturias natural paradise
We agree - it's stunning!!
kosmo where did you get that infomation from? because that’s false 😂 and just for the record, Cantabria, Galicia, and Euskadi (The basque country) are probably better.
Hi you guys Toured Spain in a bus,but not the north of Spain! Need to go back . Love you're work and vlogs ❤
Sounds awesome - was it a tour company or you just grabbed a van and did it yourself?
Golbus tour 9 nights
Thanks! Will look into it
How did you get around while you were there? Quad biking is not for nature lovers, the vehicles destroy habitat.
You should visit Aragon: it's a region in Spain full of contrasts: from beautiful historical sites to amazing natural gems

Great video! I’m from Oviedo and Torimbia is our favourite beach. It’s one of the many naturist beaches in Asturias by the way. 🍑 ☀️
Haha we didn't realise that was the case, maybe flying the drone over it was risky then :P
So much more that we’d love to see and discover in Spain!!
Why only 48 hours in beautiful Spain? Wonder where you're off to next?
We already had our flights booked to Bali but we were invited to quickly experience what it was like (we couldn't say no!) :)
Asturias looks tranquil...serenidad😍
That's a great way to describe it!
Thank you so much for the video. You´ve done more good to northern Spain tourism than our goverment spending our tax euros. Keep up the good work!
Next time check out Santiago De Compostela, amazing little city, a tourist mecca, apparently the 4th busiest tourist spot on the planet, not sure about that, but the food and old city charm are something to behold, throughly recommend it.
There are Ancient Celtic Ruins that predate Jesus as well.
3:12 At the left, under the cross you can see an unexploded bomb from the Spanish Civil War.
Wooooooooh
A large part of European tourists are low cost and only go to the beach to get pink fuscia.
They think that Spain is just that . Sun, food and flamenco, toros y jamon. Viva los estereotipos.
Glad we could show its a lot more than that

We have been. You are so right , so underrated. Thanks, guys, for a wonderful video. Sending much love❤❤❤ from Richmond, Va. Harriet, Jim and Yuki
