American.... my airline!!! I flew for them 40 years as a f/a, and was a f/a supervisor towards my retirement.....I was also a French language speaking f/a......so many memories!!!!
Starting at 5:59 for about 10sec: What is that loud buzzing sound? I've heard it from sitting in that section of many a MD-80 or 727. I always thought it was the APU(auxiliary power unit).
American's MD-80s are the biggest pieces of shit. I just flew on one from DFW to ORD a little while back, and it was so beat to shit on the inside. It looked like the inside of a New York City subway train car, it was that bad.
I WOULD JUST LOVE TO GO ON AMERICAN AIRLINES AT THE RENO AND TAHOE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN AND I WOULD JUST LOVE TO GO ON AMERICAN AIRLINES IF ITS LIKE A JET PLANE OR LIKE 757 OR ANY PLANE AND I JUST LOVE THE WAY THIS JET PLANE IS BACKING UP FROM THE GATE AT THE AIRPORT AND ITS GONNA GO ON THE RUNWAY AND GO FAST ON THE RUNWAY AND TAKEOFF INTO THE SKY AND THAT SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN TO FLY ON AN AIRPLANE AND I WANT TO FLY ON AN AIRPLANE AND I WOULD JUST LOVE THAT TOO
Great video! And wow, the MD-80 parked next to you guys, N468AA, had some crazy freelance elevator and rudder movement! It must’ve been windy that day

American is my signature airline
I love the sound of those JT8Ds at full power!! Nice video!! =)
You just have to love when the fuel ignites at 1:37, beautiful engines.
Wow, I'll really miss the Mad Dogs when they go in a few years. Love the high whine and "grinding" sound of the low bypass JT8Ds!!

Sire, that is the engine spooling up. The APU would not be running at the point in the flight.
Interesting - maybe its just a few of the MD80's? This one definitely did though as I used it, and the 737 I flew between DCA and ORD did too.
I'm flying to ORD on this plane from Tampa this November, might be my last flight on this majestic piece of metal.
I salute to you MD-80.

One thing about the MD80 it that they where a great plane for there time now like all great things they are being retried do to age and service
MD-80 is my favorite airplane that I have been on to.
Which livery is it in the new or the old
of course old, they havent repainted the md-80s
MD80's only have the old livery
+Maulin Agrawal it's because there going to retire the plane
Listen to those JT8D's sing! Awesome!
Are these planes comfortable?
Great vid. Awesome sound
But do they have Wi-Fi?
5:50 Epic takeoff
Damn, how many feet did they go up into the sky? they were WAY over the clouds o.o
That surely was over 17000 feet, maybe more.
Damn, that really is alot, as much as a jumbo jet.
***** 33000 feet
***** Ummm... Jumbo's would fly up to 40,000
+Chicago Skater (Cruz) flt attendant said 33,000. But yes the jumbos have ceilings of about 40,000ft.
Ik the 737 has a 41,000 ft ceiling.
What gate did u depart from? H or K?
Yeah pretty good, although I did have a spare seat next to me so I could spread out a bit.
I'm flying on the MD-80 in May, DFW-YYZ, YYZ-DFW!
what seat number?
I think the Md-80 are being phase out!!!
This one did yes, and it was free on this flight.

American has a really old fleet. I can't believe they're still flying planes from 1985. LOL!
Most "modern" planes are 20+ years old, these are like 35+..

All the large international aircraft, 777, 747 a330 then an airomexico 737 lol
The dinky little 737
I called them and they said no
