    As a Wisconsin resident I encourage everyone to fish these lakes, especially all you Chicago area people.

      I'd say half appreciate it, the other half think I'm creating too much fishing pressure. I think people just love fishing and are going to go whether or not I make videos. Thanks for being a supporter Fernando.

    I have never fished in Minnesota. One of these days I will.
    Love how you did your Minnesota Lakes in your Packers chair 😁

      I'm originally from WI, so that makes it OK to use my packer chair anytime I want 😎. I can't believe you haven't fished MN. You live so close.

    You should also include rivers such as St Croix and Mississippi. Both can be fantastic for walleyes in the spring and fall.

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  Місяць тому

      I've had some fun on the St. Croix. I haven't fished the Mississippi yet, but I've seen plenty of videos of people doing really good there. Thanks for your input.

    Lake of the Woods #1 for sure. I have caught PB's in 5 different species and never entered Canada. I lived there for 17 years in Warroad. And if you have never fished spring or fall on the Rainy River, I highly recommend it, especially if you want a HUGE sturgeon.

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  4 місяці тому +1

      I've talked to many people that fish rainy river in the spring, and they say its awesome. I also hear it gets pretty crowded at that time too. I've only fished LOTW on the Canada side so far. I'd love to catch a huge sturgeon though. Thanks for the info.

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  4 місяці тому +1

      There are probably more lakes here than I could fish in a lifetime, but I'm going to try. You should see them in the morning when the sun reflects of them all, as I fly over them at 30,000 feet. The ground sparkles as far as you can see.

    Used to go to Big Sandy Lake as a kid; stayed at a place called Knollwood Resort. We caught lots of pike, perch, and rockbass back then......I hear the lake is getting more known for crappie these days....very cool video! BTW, do you have hats with your logo to sell? Was just wondering, as I like that look! Thanks for the video! ~Lou

      Hi Lou. I don't have any for sale right now, but just for being a loyal follower of the channel, I will send you a hat. Send me an email to rande@gomidwestfishing.com with your address, and I will get one out to you.

    One downside of Green Lake in Chisago is it gets pounded by bass tournaments all summer.

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  4 місяці тому +1

      I was surprised at how good we did fishing there considering how much fishing pressure it gets. That was the big downside of this lake, but the day I was there, we had a good time, so that's why it made my top 10 list. I appreciate the feedback.

    Lol fact that the first lake he mentioned is in the HEAVILY OVERFISHED CHISAGO AREA LOL yikes....Then the next two are right next to it ......double yikes......sunfish do not count on the ice lmao.....moderate fishing pressure in your first 4 lol more like the busiest lake area in the souther part of the state......Winne and Leech are both over 100,000 acres and are know for walleye AND SMALLMOUTH.....Mil Lacs is better for Musky than the other big two.....Vermillion is known as lake Disappointment nothing but drinks past few yrs but better for Musky vs Leech..... Vermillion has monster Smallmouth that are very picky....Trout lake directly north of Vermillion that's only accessible by portage from lake Vermillion and 25 hp or less only.....would be my #2 lake.....Ash Lake is actually a decent lake ...... so is Pelican.....Big Sandy is a RECREATIONAL LAKE ......if you catch nothing but pike ..... leave lol......Kabetogama is a great lake ......but get a guide 100% if never fished it before......and if Pelican is also good.......small mouth are on west side ....... but there are waaaaaay better lakes than Pelican and Kabetogama.....the less cabins the better.....and the good ones require driving 15 to 30 min at 10 mph down a very rough dirt road......been a guide in the grand rapids area for 18 yrs.....

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  4 місяці тому +1

      18 years as a guide... then I will believe whatever you say. I'm sure you've seen it all. These are my favorite lakes that I've been to so far, just my opinion. We love caching northern pike, so Big Sandy was fun for us. Thanks for all the info.

      @GoMidwestFishing I'd be pissed if my guide had a boat in the condition yours is in ....no offense it gets you out there.... but if your charging 3 to 400 id be kinda pissed.....take my customers out on a 2021 Yahmaha G3 150 outfitter with 25 hp 4 stroke or 2022 Phoenix 721 .....depending on what lake and launch conditions.....and really hope you pressure wash your boats hull before taking it north from those Chisago Chain of Lakes......want good lakes close to the cities head to Clearwater lake or Sylvia in Annandale.... Green in Spicer......best lake in metro area is Minnewashta since everyone thats in that area fishes Minnetonka or Waconia.....I'll catch 40 bass on Sylvia in 4 hrs between 5am and 9am same on Minnewashta...... when I come visit the parents.....
