I fished lake Vermillion for 18 years before I went into the military back in the early 80s....My frequent hangout was McKinley Park campground. We also portaged to Trout Lake frequently. So many islands makes it have a incredible amount of shoreline. We loved the underground mine outside of Tower Soudan. I sold leaches and nightcrawlers throughout the area.
Great video!!!! Except you were fishing in one of MY SPOTS! LOL AANNNNDDDD in front of the resort we stay at just up the lake from Everett Bay!!!!! Cant wait to get back up there!
The Conservation Officer on Vermilion told me they prefer keeping 12-15" Walleye- to let the bigger ones spawn. I had 2 19" in possession. This video is a good example of ideal eater size fish. If I'd know, I would've have thrown the 19's back. Let the big one's spawn. 18"+
Guy has a wife who wants to fish muskies on a trophy lake and he takes her walleye fishing. I don't understand. Lol I'm teasing but then I'm a die hard muskie nut.
I love lake vermillion but can't afford Live scope or side viewing I personally think that is cheating same thing as hunting deer over a bait pile... the fish have no place to hide anymore and as long as those people are letting go the big ones the lake will thrive.. we started hard-core late fall early spring fishing and have been trying to find some kind of edge these fish are EVERYWHERE but getting them in the boat is not as easy as you think

Dude shows up to my local lake and does better than I ever have my whole life! Haha
Electronics are huge. Never wet a line until you find fish. It makes for far more productive time on the water.
I just caught your channel. Fantastic content! Vermilion is one of my favorite Walleye lakes.

Excellent episode! Still wondering how I went so long without seeing Sportsman's Journal TV...
Love your show !! I watch as often as I can. But you two need to venture out to other lakes. N.E. South Dakota. Green Bay. Lake Superior. Lake Erie.
They used to fish all over wisconsin with 1 or 2 shows in Canada. Now they basically only fish northern Minnesota and Canada

Baiting is legal in alot of states. But since you cant afford it, it should be illegal for everybody else?
