George sorry if my car w204 M271 magnet leaking can i buy just the oring and the pin...and another thing must i buy at Mercedes dealer store or can i buy it at Goldwagen advise please..because the dealership is to expensive.. help plz
i tried to clean the connectors of the today with contact cleaner and now i can’t plug them in they won’t click inside ??What happened? nothing broke …can i move my car with them unplugged ?I really need help thanks..
Hi George just wanted to ask what would be the signs to tell the magnets need changing? Would loss of power and gear changing issues be a sign? Check engine light indicates camshaft position sensor issue code P0010. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
The main sign will be the magnets leaking oil on the front of the motor. The Cam Position Sensors are a separate affair. There is one for each camshaft, The exhaust one is on the (looking at engine from the front of the car) left side towards the front of the car. The Exhaust one is on the right side under the engine top cover about two thirds of the way towards the rear of the car on the rocker cover. Both are held in by s single torx bolt and you can change them yourself in 5 minutes.
I have a w211 m271 engine 1.8 kompressor. I have a little bit of idle problem and i fell the car that it doesn't have the same power tha it had. I saw a lot of oil on the camshaft magnets. Can those be the reason of the engine power problem ?
2047-001,2029-001 and 201C-001 I have those codes and CEL comes up some times end them it goes but those codes are saved. Thank very much i would appreciated if you could help me.
Yes sir, can you plz help me out with my problem, I had 2009model c200 kompresor, troble code p0045, supercharger boost control solenoid circuit A open, but where is it the boost control solenoid circuit ,i cannot find, hope you will answer me tnx
Sorry, i am not familiar with this issue. The only thing i can think is perhaps the servo controlled flap in the black pipe between the supercharger and the intake could be at fault
NICE JOB, my parts store only have one did I have to change both at the same time, or can I change one now and the another one when part store have it ?
@@GeorgeEI7KO Thanks . Does it come original or is added or design later on to stop the oil? I bought a pre owned W204 it has one of these pigtails but after changing my camshaft magnets(leaking oil), my mechanic threw away the pigtails as he find it redundant.
Replacing the O-ring and grommet doesn't stop the oil leaking into the harness, it only stops oil leaking of the magnet housing. To stop oil getting into the harness you need to seal the area where the electrical plug protrudes from the magnet housing. I used steel epoxy rated to 150°C.
Hi there. You need to remove the magnet (3 screws), clean out any oil, and seal the gap between the magnet housing and the electrical plug with heat proof epoxy. The epoxy will stop the engine oil getting to the electrical connector. Good luck!
@@stevejones1318 Thank you friend! Problem solved thanks to you! Now I have another one.... I realized that my car was weak after I moved it, that is, I fixed the sensors, do you know what it could be????
I bought it via their eBay shop, I've just checked they only seem to be selling them singly now so you'll have to go that route. Make sure you get the pigtails too...

@@dinkringy they are awkward to get in I have to say. I did film it, but couldn't use it in the final edit as there was far too many swear words. I try not to swear in my videos. Hi George, just came across your video there. Great work & thanks for the info. If it's got to the stage where the oil has got into the o2 Sensor & knocked it out, is it worth replacing the kit as you've shown with the pigtails & a new o2 sensor or is the loom too far gone now & inevitably doomed? Thanks in advance.. (2006 W211 e200 Kompressor)
well, before this car I had a c180 coupe. The oil had worked its way back to the ECU and done harm. The car was running way too rich and I couldn't get it to pass the emissions test. I ended up scrapping it
You can clean everything with electronic cleaner and drill a small hole or two in the ECU casing to drain any oil. My car has oil in the harnesses, but is running fine. I sealed the cam magnets to stop further leaking.
I don’t know much about this, but if you put the zip ties in the smaller hole of the bracket, it will not interfere with the grommets of the actuators cover. Keep up whit your great job!! Saludos!!
Stop buying new magnets..... Just open them, use RTV silicone to reseal them inside - job done. You can throw the old inside gaskets. To open the magnets just drill those 3 factory alluminium nuts.
Oil travelled all through the wiring harness before i copped it, waiting on next bit of good weather to do a job on it, then i have O2 sensors, lambda sensor, ecu contacts and alternator wires to clean every few days until oil fully gone 😴

Any tips to clean oily harness leaked through magnets ¿ I do not want to change entire loom
Probably have to use electric contract spray. It won't penetrate whole loom but it'll clean it at least a bit
Thanks for the video. What is the function of these magnets
They are part of the variable valve timing system.

Can these sensors make the engine shut down while driving on highway and start cracking while trying to start it

The only reason was oily cam magnets?
it can 'wick' into the wiring and make its way back to the ECU and destroy it...common issue
I fitted mine and they still leak in the centre
You must have incorrectly fitted the center plugs. They are a buggar to get in
@@GeorgeEI7KO thanks for the response how do you propose I redo it
the most secure thing would be to replace the engine.
only the wading ring does no good,
you need to put a silicone to seal completely, otherwise with some time oil will leak.
