Every weekend boating with his friends. But friends almost never: (1) No help in the process to push the boat on a trailer at the Boat Ramp at the end. (2) They never help hosing down the entire boat (here it's salt water boating). After a day of boating he is tired... but needs to wash the boat inside and out. Takes him sometimes 4 hours. (3) Equipment keeps breaking down. He had a hard time finding a good Fish-Finder, because the sonar installed nearly always stops working. Then LESS than 1 year... he sold it. Now he bows to never ever buy a boat again. He's telling his kids too. If you want a boat, go RENT one, but don't BUY one. I would suggest Trucker Josh to rent one, and try the tedious process of loading it up PERFECTLY on a trailer at a boat ramp... before you make a big decision like that. Peace.

When transporting a boat into another body of water, you need to ensure that your boat's hull has been clean to prevent Zebra Mussel contamination due to their larva being on the hull. Rule of thumb is to have 3 months of money in the bank as a reserve. Houses appreciate. Boats depreciate.

All you guys need is a 22’ regular pontoon with a Yamaha 90 HP or 115HP, with a bunk trailer to ride on. Check for a slightly used pontoon. That’s all you need. I’ve been boating my whole life
If it wasn't such a pain sometimes you could get more money selling the camper yourself then wait till boating season is over and maybe get a better deal on the boat when sales are slow. Ol'Blue really looks good all cleaned up. That bumper looks new, I need to get some of that polish. Stay safe

Point being , rent a boat when you want to go boating. Why pay for insurance and maintenance throughout the year ? You can rent the latest and best boat whenever you want. After I got to a 'certain age' (and after heart surgery and cancer), I sold the boat and the camper, then bought a new, smaller camper. I still miss my boat. It comes down to which one you will really use enough to justify the costs and time spent on maintenance. Oh... and look for 'gently used' equipment rather than new. Owners have made a huge mistake, and are willing to pay a price to get out from under it. Most of 'em need to escape the note. I paid roughly half retail for both of my campers and my boat... all 3 were in like-new condition when I got 'em.
