It’s what we’ve come to expect from PC but how refreshing to listen to the passion, the commitment to innovation, quality and customer satisfaction. I really hope one day I can own a Patriot Camper.
These videos are a great way to show people what kind of issues occur on complex products. It's hard to see if you don't work in manufacturing or product development that it's not always complacency that's the reason for an issue. I work with simpler products and it's unbelievable how challenging it can be to make something reliable.
Need to do a top 5 video REMINDER for those that forget the maint, or need a polite remider. Dust filters, Id paint ORANGE around the filters to highlight " Im here "..
Well done stepping up for existing purchasers of Gen 2. The existing customer is often overlooked by a lot of companies. Some great further innovation in the Gen2 range there with some practical tips as well.
Wow i think this is the first time i have seen a manufacturer show faults in thier products and thier solution to fixing it. Especially the draw slide, reverting back to the original version, rather than trying to hack a new upgrade. Love the product you make but still out of my price range. Wish other companies would do these types of videos, so the customers knows they are getting what they truly are paying for. Free upgrade..that is a rare quote. Gratz PC..
It is really nice to see colour being used in the instructions for the kits. I have watched your product development since the Mongolian stub axle failure (I still remember your utter devistation in that failure when it occured) and commend you on your capacity for growth in understanding the product, and capacity for developing the trailers into mature world class items. (evidenced by experiencing with motorsport suspensions and understanding that design must include the ability to be resilient to hits and knocks, not just strong and then suddenly fail.) - somethng all your team should take home is that the team is world class, not just the product 🙂
As an aircraft mechanic that strives for the best job possible it’s refreshing to see there are still people working on the scale you are to provide quality products. People work hard for what they have and the care you put into the product inspires a trust in the product but also the people behind it. That’s a rare thing. Please don’t change that and one day I will be able to have a Patriot Camper. Have the jeeps but one step at a time. Your brand and product represents you the same as my work represents me so I feel and understand your passion. Keep it up and enjoy the results.
yeah never been a huge fan of this mob, but credit where credit is due, NO other company out there would provide retro upgrades on a scale like this at the companies expense! well done patriot campers, Justin and your team.
Great to see an Aussie company keeping at it. Wish Patriot all the best, it isn't easy here in Oz! Great work. . Sheetmetal.. HVAC background? SA sys: Vertical filter folds, use the vibrations to advantage (think shaker systems), smaller air inlet to filter face without approaching rain pull vel (i.e. drop velocity before filter try to let heavy particulates fall), centrif fan? not sure.. (good delta P not high Vol would reduce velocity also) surprised fan not on inside.
Love your videos and love the upgrades you guys have made but, Wow, what great customer service for the early adopters of the Gen2. Totally unheard of in just about any industry and a true reflection on Patriot caring so much about the product and their customers. The big issue for me though, before I pull the trigger on the Gen2 X1 is that, as a 5foot 2inch shortarse, I cannot reach into the back of the main compartment of the Gen2 X1(even harder to do when your 64). I'll have to stick to my Gen1 X1 because I can drop the back door and reach in easily to the back of the main compartment. The other thing that I would miss is the rear wheel bag. I cannot see myself camping without it but if there was something that could be retrofitted into the accessory tube (tow ball tube?) in the back of the Gen2 X1 to hold a bag for rubbish, that would be an excellent compromise. I know you can't please everyone, even though you do a fantastic job trying. I do love 99.9% of this Gen2 especially with all the upgrades to the 2025 model and will definitely keep an eye on it for any future improvements you may make. I will put these suggestions in your feedback form as well, just in case it's something that can be considered. Cheers to you and the team. 👍
Just a tip for helping to ensure when you close the lid you don't have canvas sticking out at the seal. An old hand at this told me when I am closing the lid, stop every so often and go around with a rounded wooden spoon (you read that right). Using a wooden spoon to poke canvas in (that may be sticking out) is easier than jamming your fingers in there and the spoon will have no sharp edges etc and be nice and narrow so you can sort it out without damaging the canvas or the seals
For the ST-5 model, how about a cassette toilet option since most of the American market has seen that as standard for years. It’s just a suggestion for an option for the camper itself and would make a massive difference.
A couple of additional items should be considered. The bleeder valve on the diesel tank is inadequate and can cause a vacuum situation in the diesel tank when the heater is used in the X1. The vacuum in the diesel tank causes the diesel heater to starve and stop working and, in my case, caused the bottom seal of the level indicator to start leaking. Las Vegas has sent me a new bleeder and I think it will probably work. Another issue is with the seal around the canopy cover. On handover, I noticed a large gap in the front edge of the canopy cover where the plastic with gasket meets the plastic of the main shell. In 60 mile an hour driving with no wind, this does not present a large problem from wind incursion; however, as crosswinds increase, the wind gets under the canopy cover and the first latch fails, causing the front end of the cover to lift up and act as a sail when traveling down the highway. I’ve also noticed that on closing the top shell, the rear drain nipple for the plastic shell, does not clear the plastic strip around the top of the X1. It took me several tries of opening and closing the shell and finally using a putty knife to force the plastic strip down far enough so that the nipple cleared the plastic strip before I got , the shell closed and keeping the nipple, from forcing out that piece of plastic. Please look at revising the diesel tank bleeder, the gasket on the canopy cover to eliminate the gap and check the tolerance between the rear drain nipple and the plastic band around the top of the camper box. There may also be some opportunity to improve the comfort operation of the Truma diesel heater. In my very limit use, it was either barely working or creating a furnace in the tent. Any plans to add a DC air conditioner in the Truma box that would duct into the existing air tubes?
@@patriotcampers Thanks, I will again. I have already lodged the diesel leak and canopy cover through warranty. I received a seal kit and new bleeder valve for the tank leak. I was told by Warranty that I was the only customer that had the air gap and cross wind incursion. I was sent a longer bolt for the latch but I haven’t tested that “fix”.
It’s good to see the circle being closed in regards to warranty/upgrades to fix issues being seen in the workshop and abroad, and options for those away from the service centre. But, Can we get work instructions for the gen 1 retrofits? (Awning lift upgrade/replacement, awning bag swap out etc).
Hi, Yes! we have work instructions for this. If you can lodge a customer enquiry form on the website, we will ensure we get these are sent out to you 👍 patriotcampers.com.au/customer-support/
Have you guys ever considered the Namibian market for starting selling your trailers in Africa? I know your trailers will do well here as the climate and conditions are the same as in Australia.
I have never heard of these units BUT if I was in the market for a camper trailer I can honestly say it would be one of these. The reason why is simple, I am not easily impressed by retailers these days but I can see the passion you share and I have that same passion and always have, pride in my workmanship since 1974 as a 1st year motor mechanic. It felt good watching this "update" of your product. I hope to one day be the proud owner of one of these units but I am not sure my GQ 4.2TD would manage to carry this around the VHC. Sure as hell would like to find out though. Have you sold one to a GQ owner running a 4.2D?
I understand the benefits of the buttons, but I wonder whether latches could be the heavy duty option, and buttons the premium feature, for true expedition (months, years) vs typical usage (days, weeks).
Hi Justin Looks like you are doing a lot with the new models. I wish there was that much help for the older models. I have a 2022 X1 and have not been able to use it all year. I thought I was going camping on our Memorial Day (end of May in the US) When I started to fill the water tank the tap ran pure green! Glycol from the WEBASTO. Contacted Patriot and have worked with Cody in Las Vegas. After about three months Mick Brown got involved. After about four months Sarah Montesalvo also was brought in. WEBASTO has refused to provide any help and have said it is not a warranty problem. I have taken the trailer to a WEBASTO tech in Boise (about 100 miles from me). He has never seen this model heater and has requested info from Patriot and/or WEBASTO but it has been about another month and still nothing. Our camping season is over here for the winter but would like to have some answers and some repairs done before next season. Would like to talk further about how this is going to go. Cody, Mick, and Sarah all have my contact info. By the way you mentioned in the video about how important the handover is! I did not receive any handover even though I spent an entire day in the show room of the dealer waiting for my unit to be prepped. Paperwork complete and they told me they had a problem with the heater that they could not fix so they started over with another new unit.
Thanks Don, as you know the team are working directly with the Webasto service centre on your heater. After three months working with you to get the heater into an authorised repairer for assessment we're confident we can get you sorted soon.
On the ISO Cert, it's nice to have and prove but at the end of the day it's not needed if you want to do the right thing, as it becomes a barrier to good customer service.
I mean kudos...but this is a recall. you are literally asking customers to come to Queensland for a recall for known issues, you have just put a good sales spin on it.
Hi Mark, this is not a recall, the kitchen slide is the exception and we have contacted all our customers affected direct months ago. The rest of these updates are improvements we have implemented into our later models . We are not asking everyone to come to QLD, these can be shipped free of charge all be installed by the customer if they choose 👍

I like the honesty and pro-active fix
Great admiration for your job and quality! You are putting the Australian brand name high!
People ! just buy Aussie made, please!
Great video. Honesty & being upfront is rare these days
amazing job X1 Gen2 is the best trailer ever
Well done - way to build confidence in the product. Can think of a few manufacturers that could learn a thing or two from this transparency. Love it
Gotta be hard breaking into this industry but patriot campers has done so well ,I'd buy one .
Customer service is superb
The most exciting recall evar!
Love this video!!!! Thanks for the focus and the updates!
Thank you 🙌
If they had a dealer here on the east coast I'd buy one. Las Vegas is a long way from Georgia

Great video; just had our first shakedown trip through outback WA. No issues other than airlock water fill. We have an x1 H

Should make transparent dust covers so you can still see the switch light 💡
Is there a place on board the Patriot Camper for a composting toilet?
I understand the benefits of the buttons, but I wonder whether latches could be the heavy duty option, and buttons the premium feature, for true expedition (months, years) vs typical usage (days, weeks).
This.
With a latch you can see the problem and repair it. With electric locks, you may be chasing your tail for days trying to solve an issue
Are the dust caps UV treated. Got some from a boat shop USB ports and didn't last on the back of the tray.

Will my Tourer X2 that shipped 45 days have the retro kit with it? Great video by the way.
Since these retrofit kits are specific to the GEN2 X1 and X3 trailers, you won’t need to worry about getting them for your X2.
🙌👏

Would love to see the maintenance being done.
I look to buy a Gen 2 .
Do any of these changes/updates apply to the gen2 X2 trailers?
Hi Mate, yes the do! Rear door latches, dust ingress labels and the kitchen slide 👍
👍
Hi . Can I get this Gen 1 in South Africa
Saya di Malaysia bagaimana cara untuk saya membeli produk anda tq
impressive, but not road legal in Europe unfortunately...
Still way out of my price range unfortunately….
