The guy in France was me. It was my UK reg Volvo S60 which was too good to scrap and not economic to import. Taras is a top bloke as were his mates who came over.
I must disagree, Ive had a 2013 outlander for 5 going on 6 years and its never let me down once. The only "problem" is that for every mot I need new drop links, but I'm rural and travel a lot of green lanes. I'm not saying its the best car I've ever had, but honestly with a fsh and now just over 100k on the clock (50 when I bought it) it has never let me down.
These videos are just the right length to watch on my 30 min working-from-home lunch break. Enough time to make a sandwich, pop in to the lounge, watch this and be back at my desk in half an hour.
It's a VW 2.0 lump same as a golf ect. The Peugeot and citroen have a 2.2hdi french engine. Very good cars and good on fuel as its selectable 4wd. Had one and did 200k trouble free miles
As the owner of a 2015 2.2 diesel model, I find it to be a mixed bag. It has terrible driving dynamics, ALL of the body roll, slow and sluggish and awful fuel economy, getting mid to high 30s on a decent run, high 20s round town, the interior just creaks and rattles everywhere and the paint is as thin as tracing paper. On the flip side, the seats are weirdly comfortable, the oem sound system is really decent, it can seat 7 if you cut the legs off the back 2 passengers, has a massive boot if you fold the back row, and can tow way more weight than its meant to. A very nice work vehicle capable of mild off-roading and load lugging in comfort, but very dull and dreary to drive...
I really don't understand. I've had tonnes of cars and we had a 2.3 diesel euro 6 outlander. Granted was a top of the range one but that doesn't affect the drive. It simply drove surprisingly great. Really torquey and great fuel economy. Unlike other heavy cars it was decent off the line too. Very noisy on the outside but inside was very comfortable place to be. The interior was decent quality too. Perhaps they improved things in the fqcelift but I'm shocked at how much bad rep it has here. Oh and its been fantastically reliable.
Interesting fact, the Peugeot and Citroen versions continued to be made in Japan whilst production of the Outlander moved to Europe. So the the Euro versions are more Japanese. Plus great cars, 150k on mine, no major issues whatsoever .
I had one of these, DVD player in the roof, sun roof, cruise control, built in subwoofer, touch screen stereo, unfortunately had a starting issue due to a DPF fault had to get rid of it in the end loved the outlander especially the split tailgate
I have had a 2011 Outlander for 13 years. Perfect car, never goes wrong, tows well, economical. Utterly reliable. Just keep them serviced, and you wont find a more reliable car.
I got new Outlander as a company car in 2010 we put a Chip on it from day one it went really well, had a turbo pipe go but apart from that it was a great car. I know they were not very popular but I really enjoyed driving it.
I've had a 2013 2.2 litre diesel since 2014, its the new shape and it's been the best car I've had for reliability. Had an issue with the AC sorted under warranty and an issue with the handbrake sorted on a recall. Other than that I haven't had any issues other than normal maintenance, brake pads, tyres etc.
Had Peugeot 4007 for 9 years and the only problem I had was when the Mrs put petrol into the diesel fuel tank. The MOT was a guaranteed £350 minimum but it was a great workhorse
Well done Matt! 🤟😎 I love the way these Mitsubishi's look like. I used to have a poster on my door as a kid from a car magazine with the whole generation (earlier ones): The Pajero, L200, the Shogun, etc. Good looking cars. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
This is mad. I literally watched your facelift outlander video last night and you mentioned how you hated the old one.....now today you've bought one 😂😂
I had 2010 Peugeot 4007, and was really nice car, sold it to a friend ad he happily drive it still. Not sure why Mat hates them, but they are rather reliable cars if you look after them.
I had a 2009 Citroen C-Crosser back in 2011 and it was a great car. Only minor issues in my three years of ownership. Brilliant in those snowy winters we had back then with selectable 4 wheel drive and 7 seats too.
Well done 👍. I donated my Roomster to the Ukraine and it is appropriated. Made a great friend of Bogdan who collects these vehicles to be put to good use. 🙏👍
'Cataracty' (adjective). A word which describes vehicle headlamps when they become cloudy or opaque. Well done Matt. You've created a new word which is not yet in the Oxford English Dictionary, and we heard it here first!
16 years old and 172,000 miles so it has given good service. Obviously well used but maintained and goes, just needs discs and all the other unseen stiff underneath. Just what you want from a car you own long term, in a good spec and very capable if you live in the country.
Thanks, what a good idea to send it to Ukraine. I have a Daihatsu Terios, it is scruffy but OK, and I was going to scrap it soon but might donate it for a good cause. I used to have an Outlander PHEV, it was 100% reliable over my 6 years of ownership, never had a single fault, but boy was it boring.
It has a belt driven VW 2.0 TDI PD engine…. The 4007 and Cross Dresser used the PSA 2.2 HDI engine, also used in the Freelander 2 and the Evoque’s up to 2015.
Thanks for the kind words Pearce! The Volvo has still loads of life left in it, should be reaching the lads in Ukraine by next week. I will send you some photos
Great car, a complete bargain and will defo last a good while for someone wanting a run around in rural areas. But you MUST give it to Taras and send it to Ukraine, what a great thing to do. Just right for the Winter there. Well done Matt, but a well looked after car will always be worth buying. Some of the skips that you buy for thousands more are a far worse deal.
Matt , I had a C Crosser great car! I had no problems with it! Travelled from Aberdeen to Keighley many a time never missed a beat. Now have a Santa Fe Wiggins Edition, what a cyclist had to do with a car is beyond me.
Had a 2.0 diesel 7 seater. Bought for family and rugby transportation at the weekends as no matter where we went it never got stuck. Yes very lackluster to drive having come from a Mondeo ST but the Rockford Fosgate system and fold down tailgate made up for it 😅 unfortunately the clutch went and the brake pipes would need replacing so just became uneconomical to repair. Apart from brakes and tyres nothing of note went wrong. It was good whilst I had it and would recommend it for the use we gave it if you don't care about driving for pleasure 😂
I have a 2007 mitsubishi outlander with the vw tdi pd engine in it..its mapped ect and running 200bhp for 6 years now.. never had a problem except the front callipers and now the turbo vains sticking so i have ordered a 52mm hybrid turbo to go on there 😀 shouod see around 240bhp when fitted.
I had the c crosser…the Peugeot/citroen models had a Peugeot 2.2 diesel engine…it was actually pretty quick considering this size…never had any problems with it.
The Citroen C Crosser. About to annoy everyone but my dads one was a dream.. well for the limited time we had it. It had 400,000 miles and was a drop dead ugly beige. But after 5 years of ownership iy never did a thing wrong. Used a lot for work duty and general half ass off-roady stuff. Full service history and everything. Eventually sold as he wanted an Xc90 which today i still remind him how rubbish that was as that ones subframe was fully rotted through.
Well dang Matt, I was thinking of looking you up when I decide to part with my fleet of 3 Outlanders! 1 x GX1 van, 1 x GX3 and 1 x GX4. 2011's and a 2012 - the facelift model of the one you have there. Previously had an 09 with the VW engine which was thirsty. I've not had the PSA engined 2.2, only the 2.3 Mitsubishi Mivec. The absolute 💩 we have given them defies the hatred! All have over 200k miles now and I struggle to kill them. The '11 GX1 has 235k miles and has been absolutely ragged. 1/2 tonne tractor weights in the front foot well, on its arse with weight in the back, up steep muddy tracks, over stumps. They eat track rod ends - £13ea. Overall, good on fuel (always 40+mpg), like I said tough, tow very well, plenty of power, brilliant tailgate system, superb Rockford Fosgate stereo with hard drive. Been very very cheap motoring. I'm sure I've peaked your interest 😂
Think you've done the right thing, rather than take a chance with 180,000 on it, you've recouped your money to plough into the next purchase,it did look tidy for them miles though, and seats looked mint.
The guy in France was me. It was my UK reg Volvo S60 which was too good to scrap and not economic to import. Taras is a top bloke as were his mates who came over.
Thank you! All the best!
Brilliant thing to do👍
Nice work matt your definitely going to heaven young man 👍

@@HighPeakAutos Thanks for your support and greetings from Ukraine !
I bought an Outlander 2.4 auto years ago and it is one of the most reliable vehicles so far we have had.
heard the same and seen some with 200,000 miles on the clock still going strong
Mitsubishi's in general are reliable, for some reason they aren't looked at it like that so much. Dunno why
Yep, agreed, on my second one.

Matt had to buy it, it came in a bundle. No choice but to keep it.
Things no one should ever say "I only paid £400 for it, so I cant go wrong" .....😂😂
You say that but I bought a 2002 caddy van for £400 a few years ago and stuck 40k miles on it in 18 months 😂
Finaly a Car Vertical add I don't have to rewind. That is how is done. Short, sweet, precise. Well done.

Well done Matt.I imagine it could be of good use to the Ukraine fighters too, being 4 wheel drive.

Greetings from Ukraine. Thank's for your permanent support. The war is far from over, every single donation or help effort makes a difference here.

Has the world’s smallest fuel tank!
Yep - that spare tire placement clearly ate into the template for the fuel tank - they seem to counter this by strapping on a fuel tank off a mini lol
Having seen some of your other Ukraine bound vehicles my thought was that’s where this should go then you suggested it.
Excellent!!
Cheap 4x4s like this really need to stay in this country! I really need one to use occasionally for going camping and towing a hot air balloon trailer
