It has been such an honor to have Dustin here to share these stories about such an influential franchise of films. I cannot imagine how difficult this period was for him. I can't wait to see where he takes Mischief from here.
:)
Literally the reason I got my first e36 m3 back in the day was watching these mischief videos as a kid lol
Incredible story from Dustin himself. I'm from the Mischief era and still have all of the DVDs. What happened to Dado? Any chance of story from him or about him?
It amazes me to find out all of this stuff that was going on in the background, that people never know about.
@@davidthompson1376 SAME! Then I blew up my E36 lol
wow what a story. See this shows how people never know what the hell people are dealing with behind the scenes.
RC Propaganda 💯
What a story Mark
I watched Mischief / Teckademics DVD’s in college, it was a big inspiration for where we’re at today in the early days. You were a pioneer of hooning media, I wish you all the best Dustin! I hope you get what you feel is yours in a future venture.
Good luck buddy
-Kyle
I remember watching that when I was like 12. Dinan short shifter and all that.
Thanks Kyle! - Dustin
You two are the best
I had that DVD back in the high school days! Gumball was badass!
@@derekortiz3663 same greetings from Germany !
I've worked with Dustin and the Mischief crew in the recent past (early 2010 era) and I can tell you that the passion we all share still lives on through Dustin. I've had my own "Sean" in my life and it's really terrible on all aspects of life (physically, mentally, financially, etc.)
Glad Dustin made it out, otherwise I wouldn't have had the opportunity to share in the fun and make memories of our own.
Always a pleasure working with you @downshiftrecords
I was actually the 1000th member on the Teckademics forums, Vader(Sean) sent me a signed DVD for that. The videos were awesome back in the day.
I miss the forum days, meaning forums in general. I remember when something went "viral" was when some no name forum had something crazy and suddenly as it got linked everyone, folks started joining the forum just to comment on that one story.
You were wat
Never get tired of the Mischief stories.
The early 2000's was the wild west of internet content
Hey roomie. 😉 Through it all you always had a good and positive attitude. In the end the hard times is what makes you stronger. Hoping for the best and wishing you best of luck on the new plans for Mischief/Teckademics 🤘
the hardest stories to tell... are often the ones that need to be told the most.
I know exactly how he feels. For awhile in my life every positive thing that happened to me was followed by a tragedy. For example: If I came into some money, my car would break, or my house needed work, or I had a health issue. Poof the money is gone. BUT on the bright side, if I didn't come into that money, I wouldn't have had the funds to pay for those things that came up.
Keep at it Dustin. Success is not measured by the cash you have, but the journey and life experiences you have and how you handle them.
No regrets. Thank you @Eatongee
True that.
It takes one heck of a strong person to keep composed when every door keeps shutting in your face, your “friends” take advantage of you, when your body gives up on you! All I have to say is props for never giving up and always looking for another way to find your path. VERY INSPIRATIONAL!
I absolutely love the face of Mischief! I follow Dado, Deepak, Birdman, Dustin, Daniel and many others I’ve grown to know and love along the way. I got my Mischief “Loki” tattoo somewhere in 2008. Dustin has been one of the biggest influences in my life, and my life is literally nothing but car-related media. I applaud you for your story, Dustin. I hope we can get more DVDs like yours again. Nothing but love and respect, bro!
thank you for the kind words!
Oh yeah I remember the days when superspeedersrob, Mischief, and 1320 sold DVDs
Good ol times like porn movies
Did streetfire sell dvds ever?
CRAPO2011 yeah I think they did
still got my superspeedersrob dvds from when j was a kid
“Sean was going though some bad times...”
*Cut to clip of Sean holding a rifle
Smooth work, editor... so smooth
Was looking for this comment 😂
This is the guy responsible for me and all my friends falling in love with cars. will forever remember Mischief! Look forward to the future!
Dustin you supported me and my team on our deployment in 2006 with DVDs and stickers, got us through some hard times, we will always support you and MISCHIEF! If you ever want the Viper in some scenes hit me up on FB - Ryan M
Can't believe that was 14yrs ago!
@@mischieftelevision we all still talk about getting those movies in the mail like it was yesterday! Meant a lot to us
I was just telling someone about the gumball story the other day. This guy was using his younger years the right way.
I grew up watching mischeif as a kid with my dad and we always loved the content. To hear how all of this played out for Dustin is just heartbreaking.
Congrats for getting back on the horse brother and keeping your spirits up. It means a lot to the people who grew up watching mischeif to know there's a possibility we could get some new footage! Keep up the good work!
I been watching Mischief and Teckademics since before i was a teenager and in my 30's now I would for it to come back. keep the mischeif stories coming!!!
Dustin i have alot of respect for you. I hope everything you do goes to plan and you finally get the success you deserve. The best of luck my friend
A pair of Tekademics Puma Street Cat shoes sold for $47 on Ebay.
Damn, I only have $46.
*i 'm from India, as a boy who grew up in 90's. I didn't relate to any of the Mischief Culture* BUT NOW *i feel like i got to watch every clip these guys produced* All the Love Respect & Support from India 🇮🇳 ❤
That's a hell of a story Dustin. It would be amazing if the decision you made to share this story on Vinwiki somehow leads to a Documentary or Movie down the road and you start to see your stolen fortune come your way.
Man I’m 30 now.. and I remember watching the first few Mischief dvds when I was about 18. Amazing videos for sure!! Pure madness
I was around 12-13 years of age when my older brother (19) was showing me these Mischief vids
Remember being 10-11 and eagerly waiting for the next one to show up at blockbuster. What a time to be into the car scene, even just as an enthusiast
Wow. Just, wow, that's All you can say to a story like that.
Wish you the best, in all your future endeavors, and I wish you the best health possible in the future, I relate so heavily with the struggle to keep moving on due to medical and health issues, but I digress, keep on making mischief !!!
This goes to show you that even when it looks like you have the greatest job on Earth, it can still be terrible behind the scenes.
Thanks Dustin, for the story! I really appreciate you talking about the med's! I'm on the same BP pill and having the same acid re-flux and allergy issues! Now I know what I will be talking to my Dr. about next month!
Keep me updated on it dustin@mischief.tv
id love if Teckademics released their own pig mask similar to the original one in the mischeif 3000 videos
These stories are better than Rob and Doug. Never thought I'd say that.
Agreed. I think all have their own place, but IMO what makes Dustin's stories great is they are so real, raw and full of problems that people face every day. Plenty of people get scammed out of businesses with friends sadly, I've seen it happen personally, so I think people can relate to them a little more because of that versus the car buying and flipping stories which are cool, but not many people can comprehend or have experience in that level of transactions
@@somekidwithanm4 couldn't have put it better myself

damn that was an emotional rollercoaster at the end! Hope to see your face more on vinwiki now that you’re fully recovered!
22 years in media for me. This story hits home. Great stories, thanks for sharing.
Dustin brought a tear to my eye! Wow. I think a lot people would have given up in similar circumstances. I would love to see Dustin and the Mischief brand do well. Great content!!!
So many answers. Thanks Dustin. Time to fire it back up!
Wow. This should be a movie. Good job pushing through it all Dustin.
Wow , I always wanted to know what happened to Teckademics... I grew up on those DVD’s in high school, thanks for the story Dustin and may God Bless your health and future endeavors.
Love Dustin's stories! Dustin needs to make a documentary/movie about his early life.
early 2000s the mischief series was on the tvs at my house before and after every car show that my crew attended.
I have great memories of me and my dad watching mischief 3000 when I was younger. Glad to hear he’s doing better.
Those old MTV clips hit me right in the feels. Boy those were the days
Vin Wiki and Breakfast. Great way to start the day!
Teckademics and the Mischief series was a huge part of my upbringing in my young life. I was a sophmore in high school when I watched the first movie and I've been hooked ever since. I'm excited for the future of the series in whatever form it may be and will be along for the ride no matter what. Thank you Dustin for continuing to persevere through bad times and worse times to be so dedicated to your fanbase. I'm sure there were times where you wanted to just give up, cut your losses and move on to a different venture. I hope the community can come together and make sure that the future stays bright and continues to prosper for everyone involved. #TeckArmy
Gosh, these DVD's were a mainstay at our apartment in the college days (my videos, but they were in the living room DVD player constantly). I can't begin to count how many dozens and dozens of folks that came by to party and hang out who got introduced to Mischief videos, Dustin and Dado at our place. Wild times... I had GrandSport #387 at the time which was an Lingenfelter C4 with a blower, and stroked out to 396... Mischief inspired some crazy adventures with that car (and many others... we were kinda hard on the rentals for sure). Shoot, we started doing poorly filmed, low quality videos ourselves because of you guys, it was garbage footage mostly but great memories when I randomly turn up a rental car abuse video or something crazy! Glad to know the story about what happened with everything (and everyone), and now here I am subscribing to you and Dado's channels. :)
In 2003 came back from San Diego with your dvd to Poland and it was mind blowing to everyone in this small eastern europe country. You are the legend
Always nice to wake up to a new story 🥰 Cheers & blessings from Puerto Rico!
Dustin- I bought joyride and still enjoy watching it. I had no idea about your troubles. I hope it is all in the past and I look forward to what you bring to us in the next chapter of your life. Put me on the list to buy your next thing. Thanks for sharing and thank you to Ed/ VINwiki for putting this out there.
It was the first dvd I ever bought about cars , and started my obsession! Eventually led to my 93’ rx7 when I was 18, and haven’t looked back since! Crazy to think all that was going on behind the scenes
I was SO into the Mischief stuff back in the day, I think I still have almost every DVD they put out back then. This kinda makes me want to throw out all the Destroy stuff.
nah it's part of history. Thanks for the support!
This edition of VinWiki is one of the best videos so far, I can only think of a couple more that are close to it but for only memorable value. This was so great to hear the back story to today. Many people can learn lots and lots from this!! #TeckademicsArmy
After finding the Mischief 3000 videos on iMesh or something back in the day, then wondering what happened to them, it's pretty awesome to hear this story and get an answer.
I'm also pretty sure that many years ago I saw the yellow beamer on 695 getting onto 95 out toward Harford Rd. That's the whole story.
God bless teckademics and the mischief series. I love these stories. Those movies gave me, and still give me motivation for being active in the automotive community.
Man I never knew any of this. Hats off to you Dustin you clearly have a lot of love for the brand and the fans to keep it going all these years despite so many setbacks. Glad I was there to witness it from the very beginning.
I love Dustin and the whole Teck series , been a huge fun since the early 2000s. I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all this bro , your a good man and truly an inspiration to us all. I hope now that your moving past all the bad times that great things can happen for you and Teckademics again!
Love you bro!
Stay healthy.
Stay strong.
Thank you for the Stories of my childhood in video games and all the other background stories as well.
Dustin’s an absolute gangster. I love it whenever he’s on.
Thank you Dustin for finally filling in the blanks of what happened with Tekademics. Been following since the first DVD and the Tekademics forum days. Can't wait to see what you have for the future!
Love to see Dustin on here. He was/still is a hero of mine! Glad he made it through all of this!
Wow. Thank you for sharing, even though it was hard. You got royally screwed, but still have that attitude? Huge props.
Teckademics video they put out on UA-cam when they were doing the Gumball was the greatest video of that time. So much freedom for those Italian horses. Loved that police scanner bit.
The fan base is still there because we can feel your passion. I still have all the DVD's, the license plate frame, the stickers, the shirts are sadly all worn out. Keep doing Mischief stuff and we'll keep following you.
Amazing Story! I'm floored how often I hear these crazy stories where ppl try to screw the other person. Here is this "good thing" and someone becomes selfish and mucks it up. In the end, it sounds like you came out ahead Dustin! Wishing you good health and hope you continue to make great videos!
Wow man I had no idea about all this! I want to thank you and Dado for being super humble. I had the opportunity to chill with you guys at FedEx field during the Mazda autocross event. You all gave me free Mischief DVD's and even signed them because I'd been a huge fan. After that I got to chill with Dado at the Nissan dealership in Frederick and he drifted my pearl white 300ZX. You all really made an impact on my life. Thanks for the great times! positive vibes and I hope you continue to do great things!
A pretty great guy with a truly unique story to tell , I hope he’ll get in a position were he gets to be appreciated for all his qualities .
Good morning, have a great Thursday!
Thank you have a great Tuesday
Dustin, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I always loved your videos, I found what you did very entertaining, but now, after hearing about all the stuff you went through while creating these, I have to say I respect you as person even more than as a content creator. Good luck with your future projects.
dado's M3 was legendary...the whole mischief/teckademics era seems to have passed. i don't know how much you can squeeze out of it, but holding on to it for nostalgia probably won't pay off in the long run. i personally love these stories and i'm sure there are more. i look forward to see what you do going forward - wish Dustin all the best.
Dustin-
Glad you're back bro! Where can I buy merch to support YOU directly? I want a teckademics army sweatshirt!! Get back at it!!!
We all appreciate what Ed's been doing. Especially in regards to Tek/Mischief.
This is awesome! Can't wait to check out all those movies! I was young in early 2000's so I didn't watch any of them, pretty excited! Amazing story, and in terms of health, the carnivore diet was life changing and I would recommend it to everyone!
Much love Dustin! I grew up with your Mischief series and am excited to see what you have in store for the future
Man, I had no idea. I always imagined Dustin living like a king off that series. For what it's worth, I was 16 working at a Best Buy in 2002 and saw the DVD being bought/on shelves and figured I should check it out. It blew my mind that people were doing stuff in the US like I had only seen on like some shady, foreign SVCD downloads. It got me to check out the Teckademics forums and DTMPower. That lead me to find a local car forum and eventually make my own forum to find others into cars and doing goofy shit. Long story short, a decade plus goes by and this all played a big role in me having a career in software. Thanks for somehow being a positive influence on my life by filming/editing people doing burnouts and wheelies and shit! I look forward to what's next.
I had the same surgery as Dustin last April. Still having some issues but overall a good decision. I still have Mischief 3000 on DVD somewhere. I loved it!
About to go through it myself. Any tips or recommendations?
@@BrassStacks The liquid diet is hard to deal with. My doctor only had me on it briefly, a lot less than everywhere I read about. It was hard to swallow anything at first. It feels like it gets stuck and hurts. But, go slow, small bites, easy food once you're back to solids. Just keep yourself busy during recovery and don't focus on what you can't do (eat). Good luck to you.
@@Bungletronics , Thank you very much
I love this channel, this keeps me up every day when I should be asleep
Always wondered what happened to u guys, glad ur better an want to produce some new content with all the shit you’ve been threw.... best of luck man
Dude..... I love the mischief series as a teen. Glad to see it might be making a come back. We didn't get many here in Australia but we had our ways.
Hopefully the new ones will be distributed overseas this time.
I did purchase them them I could whether it be online or in store here at a place called JB hifi.
I have chronic pain from a drink driving accident and it has caused my health to deteriorate....so I know your pain of being sick all the time. You really do have to put on a brave face. No one wants to hear you complaining. Took me way too long to realise that.
So awesome to hear it is starting to work out again for you. You are a passionate fella by the sounds of it. Of you ever heard down under I'd be happy to show you the car sights around brisbane and the gold coast.
We have some pretty crazy laws though so avoiding the police is kinda bred into any car guy here. Not that we all do crazy shit. But you do learn when it's time to go from meet and which ways to avoid the check points. The defect performance builds here for the stupidest reasons. Bigger brakes without an engineering test. Illegal. Even if the part was manufactured upto code.... Doesn't matter needs to be tested. Vent to stomp here blow off valve... Illegal. Better seats illegal most of them. Better harnesses illegal. Rollcage illegal one of any real use if you flip anyways. We have a big marked here for removable roll cages due to the strict laws on street vehicles.
But they would let a clapped out price of shit just drive on past spewing smoke and obviously not road worthy . The have specific laws in some states like mine. That if you get done under the"hoon laws". Your car can be confiscated for a period of time and if the offence is bad enough they have the right to void the insurance and crush the car.
It's a bit mental. They have state legality to steal your property and destroy it without compensation.
And don't get me started on point to point speed cameras. You are too busy watching the Speedo to be paying attention to the road. I've nearly had a few crashes from someone staring at the Speedo.
But even with all this our car scene is bigger then ever. Even when they make it almost impossible to do anything. We still give the government the middle finger and continue to love our cars and make them ours.
It's a lot of sitting around in parking lots until the police break it up. Or some dick does a huge burnout to look cool but really we all just think he's a fuck wit for ruining it.
Love Dustin for his stories. Will be on the hunt for they puma 😎
Keep up the hard work Dustin, i love the videos. Makes me feel like im in school again!
Dustin, they are your videos. Watched them back in college in 05 and have watched ever since. Keep your head up brother. Never stop.
Really captivating story and I'm glad you're doing better. :)
Grew up watching these and loved every minute of them. Glad you're healthy again and best of luck in the future
This is so awesome!!! I'm from Frederick, MD. I always wondered what happened because my friends and I would always grab the new Mischief and have a movie night, before the internet boom circa 2003 2004. Dustin. you brought the realness of the underground street car seen before anyone and with you being from the DMV makes it that much better!!! Looking forward to seeing your healthy progress!!!
Wow, I thought the backstret boys had a hard deal.... it was nice to see you don't harbor any ill feelings. A true legend keeps positive and knows when the time is right.
Fan since the beginning. Fan for life. Love that you’re feeling better and bringing back history.
I LOVE hearing his stories and I would be absolutely speechless if there was some sort of major comeback!!! All the hours I spent watching those old videos are now fond memories and I would do it all over again.
You can really hear the pain in Dustin's voice.
He reminds me of one of those little trolls with the spiky hair
What an incredible story. I’m glad Ed helped you man. You definitely deserve it. Keep your head up.
Happy you take that out of your chest. Could never imagine, i remember seeing a movie online more than 12 years ago! Or even more...
Always love hearing one of Dustin's stories!
I was myspace friends with Dustin lol. Thats how long Ive followed Mischeif. I hope he makes his comeback, hes just a genuine dude that loves cars
Thank you for sharing and keeping positive Dustin. God bless!
wow, that was a crazy story, but also a story you see all the time.
Greed really does destroy businesses, friendships, and families.
I hope it all works out for you, I used to follow you guys way back when.
I know you will probably never see this but one of your gumball 3000 movies completely jump-started my love of cars. I was in middle school and had never seen something so awesome. Thank you man
Man, I thought that I have been " MF'ed" before by a "Back-in-the-day" friend but your story is like you never feel the steel 'til it's hanging out your back! Glad you got Phoenix story of complete restoration and no spatter from your friend going down the road!
My car culture was raised on productions like mischief. Good for You to keep Your head up. Every, even the best project can be ruined by money. Hopefully we will see more movies on Your channel - waiting for that Dustin!
Truly hope all is well with you Dustin. Didnt realize so much was going on in the background but very grateful to have been able to go along for the ride! The influence that you and dado and reza had on a generation cant be summed up in one paragraph or video. You gents were trendsetters for the car communities that we have today. Wish you all the best in all future endeavors brother.
I can imagine that this wont be seen, but:
Dustin- Thank you for sharing your story: This was one of the things that kept me happy in my teenage years and it stuck with me into my early 20's.
Its a shame that it had to go the way it did, but your positive attitude and optimism is refreshing to see.
Hopefully more material will come from you in the coming years, in combination with VinWiki! :D
I wish Dustint he best. My friends and i were huge fans and bought the DVDs through college. Good to see him again and hope to see a revival.
Dustin is a legend. Totally glad you’re feeling well and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Mischief.
I grew up watching Mischief DVD's and dreaming of getting to do/be around the stuff they did. It's so cool to get this behind the scenes info from Dustin himself.
Man this guy has been through a lot. I'm certain life is gonna pay him back in a big positive way! Cant wait to see the success to come brother!
