The SHOCKING real story behind Mischief 3000
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 тра 2018
- Before UA-cam, before Top Gear, there was Mischief. After their first DVD success, Dustin Worles needed to make another movie. When he heard about the Gumball 3000, it seemed like the perfect content but how could they go when they couldn't afford the entry fee?

"You gus vandalized our car with gumball stickers"
got 'em
😂😂😂😂
best line by far
Should of sued them for vandalizing his car
Why does this guy look like a troll doll.
“you signed a contract, you can’t use footage of our event!” Must’ve felt amazing to point out you never did!
kolo909 Shoulda responded “Find your copy of the signed contract and call us back.”
What a great story! No idea they snuck in to Gumball. Makes sense why they changed the DVD though. Glad to see he is posting stuff on UA-cam again.
superspeedersRob I remembered watching this in high-school, the local video store carried these dvds and bum fights. Lol.
Ps. How's the vet?
Where’s the 4 rotor, Rob?
You need to get on Vinwiki
@@DannyIsSoFly wrong Rob...…. lol
@@BerchCerp lol, bumb fights! Rufus the stunt bum got cleaned up and wrote a book. But I'll always remember him boogie boarding down rocky hills and yelling: Bum fight crew, get your duck sucked!
It's always an interesting concept to me when entities like Gumball, who organize events inherently designed to break the law, wind up suing other people in court. It's even more interesting to me when they actually win
Just greed really, they saw the film and obviously it was in the contract to not film and redistribute but even after realising they weren't apart of the event officially and nothing signed they still tried to sue. Fucking rich people lol.
They didn't win. There was a settlement. They just wanted to hurt Mischief for clowning on them. They spent far more than the ~200k mischief spent on the lawsuits. They lost money.
SUCH a cool story that I ran over to eBay, found one of the OG "Gumball logo" DVDs and it's now on the way to my house for $4.91. Collector's item!!
rmp5s lol same here $2.99 shipped!
bruh...... amazon is taxing me $80 for the og dvd
I found a few DVDs on eBay for less than $10
I found a few DVDs on eBay for less than $10
I have one still in the plastic that I got from Dustin directly, prerelease.
"...which I thought was funny but I knew we were in a lot of trouble." is the kind of thing that will be on my tombstone.
Strange, now the Gumball 3000 practically encourages their participants to film everything. No shortage of videos on the Gumball 3000 these days!
Techademics still has some of the hardest content out there. Mischief Invasion is my favorite.
*Barber: "What kinda cut ya want?"*
*This guy: "Do you know troll dolls?"*
*Barber: " Say no more"*
😂😂😂😂😂
Best comment 😂😂
Hell yeah dude looks weird af tho. He looks like his face is Photoshopped
"lemme get that hadouken?"
"say less"
I love his hairdo, dude looks like a character from a 2k's NFS game or F&F movie
This is the coolest story on this channel so far. Love watching! Subbed.
I 2nd that !!!
Thanks for subscribing!
+Ed Bolian
Wow.....a personal thank you
that's awesome, that is unless you
have taught you kid how to reply.
Lmao
Even if it's a social media manager saying the thank you, it's just classy and in good taste.
It's me. There are a few people with access to the VINwiki account but if you see a comment from me, it is really me.
It was so cool to get to spend some time with Dustin and here these stories. When these came out we had very little automotive entertainment. Mischief was the stuff of legend!
Had no idea this even existed, but I had to pick up a copy! Looks amazing
This has to be my favorite vinwiki story thus far. I remember watching the mischief movies when they first came out. Amazing stuff and well done Dustin and Dado!
Lonman content would be epic. That 996 GT2 was mind blowing to see in action.
God, I remember saving up little bits of money from chores and shit to buy Mischief and Super Speeders. Fun times
I had a blast Ed! I'm looking forward to hanging out again! - Dustin
Kinda ironic that Gumball's organizers played the hand "you have violated the law and we will sue with the help of our gov and lawyers", while these amazing guys outgumballed them in the true renegade fashion.
YEEEESSSSSS!!! My wish was answered!!! A few months back I made a comment about how awesome it would be to have Dustin or Dado on VinWiki!!! Thank you THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
This was Genesis of car enthusiasm for me. So cool to see Dustin on here. I had no idea they got away with this without paying the entry. Given the rest of their antics, I should have expected no less.
Prolly wpulda saved them alot of money to just pay the 20g entry fee. Hahaha. Maybe have a homoe film from the ojtsode amd blur out some trademark shot.
as if this dvd couldn't get better....this story is the cherry on top
What shocks me the most is the amount of money Gumball made throughout the event yet they still felt the need to try an take out the little people. Smh
To add insult to injury the organizers were already super wealthy people 😂 nothing lost from this to be real
Because that's how you make revenue as a wealthy person - abuse the fact that you have more power.
Got to feel that on my own skin when I was working in the luxury yacht industry and our clients left unhappy when we delivered perfect quality product
I used to love these dvds I had them all in high school...I mean the yellow m3 doing donuts outside the capital building is what America is all about. Great story! Do more with Dustin...I'm sure hes got a million stories!
remember when they had to hide on the side of freeway and got flat tyres from the thorns lol
We probably watched Mischief 3000 more than 40 times when I was in high school. I still have the original dvd as well as the box set I picked up later on, great stuff.
I have an OG copy that still works and I thank you for the many great years of content.
Dado's M3 is the most iconic thing about the Gumball. They should have paid you.
Rob I think is his name from England with the silver 996GT2 was also iconic in the mischief series.
Hey Man Can You Upload on Torrent or Telegram App?
@@mrvk699 ua-cam.com/video/7bwmtj2yeh8/v-deo.html
No need, he made the full version of Mischief 3000 available on youtube just a week or two after your comment ;)
@@nimmen Haha! Thanks Man! You sure made a great good to world by posting the link! Ciao!
8:31 - "And from then on.... we knew that we were invincible." Freakin' awesome!
Wicked story. Also nice to spot a valentine radar detector. What a tool they were!
that movie is what turned me on to GB3000 especially the scene with the cops chasing the bikes while clearly the M3 was doing 150 ...
Now I have to go check my copy of the DVD to see which one I have!
Same here wow that was so long ago its some where in my mother basement. What a great back story!
I have one of the originals!
I had to go check too. I have the original Mischief and the good version of 3000. Yee haa!
Can you share that somehow? :)
Share what?
The video?
That'd get him sued by them.
Mischief 3000 was so legendary, so awesome that we got to know some extra backstory from it, especially since it was a catalyst in my love for exotics!
I really need to dig this movie out of my collection and watch it again. Im positive I have the Original logo of GB3k on mine also.
Anyone remember when the Bentley hit a bird and it got stuck on the grill? What a trip down memory lane
Yes! I'm glad somebody mentioned it. I've never seen anything like it since.
RIP bird
Still remember the Mischief crew back in the day, they were one of the main reasons I got into the car scene right out of high school. Dustin and Dado have always been super cool dudes to talk to have stories for days. Awesome to hear the full story.
Thanks for the kind words :)
Just checked because I remembered mine having the Gumball logo and I was right. It’s one of my favorite movies and I have one of the originals... YAY! I posted it on Instagram and tagged @Vinwiki. ;)
AutoAli I thought mine did but sadly no, I have the rock set
I have the original dvd as well.
Me too
I had the original as well.
@@theoracleprodigy just checked and mine is also original. It should be as I bought it on its first release date in stores back in the Fall of 2002.
Dado's M3 is legendary! I remember the old DTM forums.
An F50 being driven like that is the coolest thing ever!
Gus Kipper ua-cam.com/video/qafG7ZGLXFo/v-deo.html
^cool vid; thanks.
It put a giant smile on my face
@@tmanepic what a genius - a youtube movie of braking laws left and right and showing your licence plates 🤦♂️............. imo just an idiot and reckless jerk, dude, beat up your F50 on tracks and rallies (how about Pikes Peak?) then you are my hero
@@wolfgangbrugger3509 you must be fun at parties
The good old days :) thanks for the feature!
DadoBR your the man and a crazy good driver
What ever happened to the M3? Is it on VinWiki?
MrHondablink never seen again after NYC.
Sam k thanks!
Maybe Someday yup. Better watch that karma spreading fake info 🤔
best story on VINwiki. I was around 12 in 2004 when i got the first two DVDs
What a fucking legend. Amazing story.
Great story. I always thought it was strange that he seemed so surprised when Dado told him what number they were. Now I know why. I have the original cover, too.
You guys are awesome! One of the best pulled off, just go with the flow and see how far you get, stories I’ve heard. Gumball does actually owe you a lot of credit for their popularity!
Dustin, Dado & the whole Teckademics Mischief series set the bar high. These guys were doing this 15+ years ago, paved the way for many a autovlogger now.
Dustin & Dado go together like coke and cigarettes... :D Long live the Teckademics/Mischief crew!
I remember when both movies came out!!! They were awesome at the time!! Thank for for the trip down memory lane
Oh man, Ed, please get the "Getaway in Stockholm" guy... holy crap.
That is a good idea
Absolutely 😲 those were the years, the infancy of online car videos, and almost unobtainable due to 56k
Did you know the owner and driver of the red escort cosworth (that folowed the supra)from the 2nd getaway vid was danish racing driver Nicolas Kiesa and was driving for f1 team minardi a couple of years later in 2003.Here is a link to his old site and the cosworth in question www.kismo.dk/sider/ford.htm
Getaway in stockholm is fake n staged. Source is an interview with ghost rider
I figured it was fake. I loved watching ghost rider. I will always hate Nicolas Cage for flooding my search results....
This is the best vinwiki story. I want more from this guy.
Dude what?! This is insane. Dado is the reason for my obsession with M3's. This makes it so much cooler!!! I don't remember which version of the movie I watched, but now I NEED to see the original unedited version!!
Amazing story! I loved the Mischief 3000 since the first time i saw it back in 02 03, its so cool too get this (to me) unknown story behind it. I legit thought they were in it and havnt refelcted that their car didnt have a number on the side... 11/10 points for the story!
By far the best most inspiring story! These are the shenanigans I hope to achieve one day.
This is one of the best stories I've ever heard. So glad I stombled upon this. Gonna see the movie soon now
Mischief 3000 was one of the first movies I ever pirated
lol it was the very first DVD I ever purchased!
I remember the first time I watched a mischief video. It was on VHS and it was glorious!
gnarshread I've never seen Mischief, is it an American thing?
That is awesome. I never saw a VHS version. @TheCarFanForever, it was released in the US starting in 2001. When we were starving for automotive content, this was amazing.
gnarshread. Old school homie
Hell yeah Dustin was waiting to see this!! I grew up watching these and inspired me to get into the car scene and video/film. It was also a huge influence to my E36 M3 obsession. I've got my OG Copy as well ;)
Dustin and his crew are from around my area... really cool dudes to hang out with
i was obsessed with Mischief vids. I've got the 1st one, OG 3000, Destroy, Invasion, Dynasty, and Assult! woot woot yo
No way you guys got him in here!!! I have all the dvds they had before they went MIA
Best story on VINwiki yet! Love that. It's like a dream come true.
Thanks. We were really excited to hear it.
I actually bought the video the next day on Amazon. The pic on Amazon showed the Gumball logo on the hood on the front of the DVD case, but when the video came it was the Mischief logo. I love it! Great retro music and cars. The only thing I was disappointed in was that it didn't touch on the fact that you snuck in and weren't suppose to be there. Hopefully you have that footage somewhere and you can make a sequel.
OMFG All these years...i have all these videos all the old Teckademiks stuff (first one, Destroy, Dynasty Ect) from new and Loved the Gumball video, played it everyday in my store I never knew you guys just snuck in...Thats GREAT !!! This made my day!
Yes! I had no idea they snuck into the rally. Makes the story even better! I still want a yellow E36 m3 to this day. The soundtrack to the movie was also legendary.
That turbo m3 was nasty
That is a awesome story!!!
This is the definition of a perfect car story cars where new no phones but still able to capture it I’m 20 the early 2000s are my favorite I’m gonna do a cannon ball at some point in a Mercedes if possible
When I get home I'm gonna have to check, but pretty sure I've got a Mischief 3000 dvd copy with the Gumball 3000 sticker on Dado's M3 on the cover.
Figureight stance said dvd copy with vstancer
Figureight Ayy fig what’s up m8
Mine is the OG copy FTW! Great to get this behind the scenes info 17 years later! Brings me back
I miss the days of great Gumball 3000 participants producing grass roots footage. Mischief 3000, Jackass in their Jag, Alex Roy in his Polizei E39 M5, Ant & Pete in their Diesel BMWs, Kim in his Brabus Mercs, Lonman in his GT2 or SL55, GT 3000. If I could time travel, I'd put myself on the starting line of the 2005 Gumball 300 Rally: Paris - Marrakesh - Cannes. Thanks for the walk down memory lane Ed and Dustin!
Last time I was early
The 25 year ban was non existent
One of the coolest stories on the channel, enjoyed it soo much! Thanks guys! =)
This is one of the craziest stories I’ve seen on VINWiki I love it!! Great work putting on the whole charade and tagging along with the gum ball rally!
Bro lmaoooooo this story is legendary
I had that copy. I remember them selling their videos at Nopi Nationals in Atlanta 2006. Having watched that video so many times I had no idea the backstory. That makes it even more legendary.
That was one of the greatest years for the Gumball, I saw them come through Philadelphia. Mr Bass’ RUF was brutal. Lonman brought a SL 55 into the US before they were released.
The OG 1320 video and my true introduction into car culture. These guys are why I'm a huge gear head. I wear my techademics shirt to most car meets and have a mischief sticker on my 78 Malibu Wagon.
I still have this DVD and I used to play this at shows in my car back in the day. Man, I miss this series. It's what got me into watching the Gumball Rally.
The grin on my face kept getting bigger the more i watched this video. Awesome job!!!
I remember renting Mischief 3000 in 2002 at a tape store when i was 12. Good times.
Dustin!!! You and Dado were my hero's back in the day!!! So awesome to see you on here.
Thanks.
Finally! Love to hear more of Dustins stories
I absolutely loved Mischief dvds. i definitely remember going to best buy and buying them. So Awesome to see this story on here.
By far the best vinwiki!!!! Can’t believe the back story of all of this!!!! I still own all the mischief videos
I remember when it came out on DVD. I had to order it from the states. To this day it's my favourite DVD
This is like the coolest story I have ever heard.
I love Mischief & Teckadmics since Day 1. Have still all films and DVDs in my rack.
These movie inspired me to go nuts with my Bmw M5 ^^
One of the best Situations was Gumball and the Ford Explorer vs. the H1 Hummer expedition :)
Awesome storys from Dado & Dustin. Greets from Germany !
I don't know how many times i've seen this, never getting tired of this episode
Nine years after this video I got myself a dakar m3. Love it!
I remember buying the dvds!
Fun fact, I have original copy
This was one of the most entertaining stories on this channel
Didin't even know of mischief, but i know about gumball. And this is one of the coolest stories ever. Thanks for uploading.
I remember watching this at a friends house back in the day when I first went to high school. Skipped class and watched mischief 3000 and the jackass gumball rally. Good times! This was only like ten years ago so I guess we watched the newer version.
Last time I was this early, the witch's Taurus was still shifting.
Clint Gliford so last video?
I understood that reference
i just checked, i have the original version of the dvd with the gumball logo. super awesome, i have to go watch it again now
You guys truly made my childhood your dvds are the reason I got into cars, seen a ad for movies back when you still ordered over the phone. watching that Ford Explorer jump that intersection as a young guy blew my mind.
This is the greatest "If you can't make it , fake it" story ever. Awesome!
Great Story Dustin, I remember this like it was yesterday!!!
I have snucked into picnics before.
But these guy just took sneaking into a whole different level.
Their m3 was very nice now and especially at the time. This is the sole reason they were able to get away with it imo. No way they’d let them in a bar looking car. That m3 is so damn clean
Best episode of all time. I have that dvd!!! I've watched it a million times. You guys were legends! Still are. Smiling so big because of how incredible this story was! Hope u guys are well!
This has to be one of the coolest stories I have ever watched on this channel.
Great to see some Hometown Heroes on VINwiki!!
Holy shit, I remember these guys. Still got a couple of their DVDs.
In 2002 I was working at a Goodyear shop in North Las Vegas. One day, my boss gets a call that someone needs a 335 35 r17 Goodyear Fiorano F1 (Ferrari OE directional and asymmetrical tire) of which we happened to have in stock, right away. About a half hour later a red Viper pulls in and throws the giant meat in the trunk and speeds off. I was a very small part of the Gumball Rally that year.
Wow what a great story. I remember watching the mischief movies with my friends. Watching Dado rip the m3 was a thing of beauty and Dustin capturing it all on tape. Nostalgia at its best. Well done Boys!
Remember back in high school watching with my best friend - hilarious to know that it was a ruse. Interested in more of these stories / this guy.
Legendary story! Scumballing on the 2002 rally!
Dang, what did I do with that video? I had these movies which was so long ago. This story made them even better. Thanks VIN.
I found Mischief looking for wrestling and skateboarding DVDs in Best Buy. Got hooked.
that M3 was legendary
Didnt know about this and I might say this is the best story Ive ever heard :)
I can't tell you how much the mischief DVD influenced my friends and I when we were 16. This is amazing.
Normally don't like story videos on youtube but this one is incredible.
