I never met a dentist that wanted to fix anything or instruct proper care. I have been sold Dental implants for 2 teeth with some bone loss. I have been sold teeth cleaning for $1000.00 for the 12 remaining teeth that I have. In my opinion, dentistry is about the same as the eyeglass industry. I have yet to receive care that has improved anything except the doctors bank account. My teeth have been completely stopped from decaying. Breath is no longer an issue and cavities are receding. Dr Ellie is the one that offers help. Yes the ONE.
She was the first one I heard about the Zellie's gum. That's 100% xylitol gum! It is so hard to actually find any in anywhere so I order it by the big bag full. I agree with one of the other people writing on here, I don't know why dentists haven't said anything! I'm one of those people that had to have feelings in my baby teeth I had to have caps on my baby teeth! I would have been most grateful to know about this!
I watched this video after being told I have periodontal disease, horrible gums, and will lose teeth. No advice from the dentist, they want to do scaling by the end of this January, 2024. I looked online. Got my first waterpik. Learned online how to use it efficiently, with peroxide. 1. Waterpik, with a drop of peroxide. I still use floss. 2. Bought xylitol in mints. Have those in the day. .56grams per mint. Some brands have over 1gram. 3. Xylitol, once a week rinse. A liquid form. 10% xylitol. 4. Bought an electric toothbrush. Seems to erase coffee and other stains. 5. And still use regular mouth wash. First week, lots of bleeding gums. 2nd week. Two bleeding gums. 3rd week bleeding gums are clearing up fast. 4th week. My teeth look white, not yellow stained. Shiny, seems to be a nice film on my teeth all day. New enamel?Remineralizing? No bad breath. No dry mouth. Gums are pink, not bluish, purple, or dark anymore. Gums feel healthy and alive! Teeth look amazing. Anyways. Only four weeks. Why don't dentists teach any of this??? They only look, give you floss and say bye. I wonder, the last 2 gums still bleed. Will they heal too. Eventually? With this new treatment and routine, I believe so. Update later. My mouth and gums look healthy and I feel better. Thank you.
Here's why your gums can still bleed -- if you have gum pockets deeper than 6mm, then usually no amount of rinsing or oral irrigation can reach past 6mm. So, you might actually still need a deep cleaning -- BUT MAYBE ONLY IN SELECTED AREAS, NOT ALL THE TEETH -- Be sure to get your gums probed and maybe get a 2nd opinion too. Most dentists don't have time to tell people everything about dental prevention. But they could hand out listicles or bullet points of links to look up about prevwntion.
I had the same thing happen to me. I stopped my bone loss and gum recession 6 years ago. A additional vital tip I got from a periodontist is to use interdental brushes. They are tiny brushes that go between your teeth, and come in various sizes. I work with 3 different sizes in my mouth. I dip the brushes in xylitol toothpaste and go between each tooth twice a day. This is the only way to get rinses or paste between your teeth to help them. It’s a lot of work but it’s worth it.

Way to go Mark! As the originator of XyliMelts for dry mouth, I've been using xylitol since 1989. Yet 94% of my new patients have never heard of xylitol. And these are people who've had a lot of dental experience. Why dentists are not telling patients about xylitol is a mystery to me. If they truly cared about their patients, they would at least mention it. Yesterday one of my long-time patients told me xylitol gum is the best thing he's done for his teeth since I recommended it. He now buys it by the 1000-piece bag.
My dentist told me today that long-term use of xylitol leads to the growth of xylitol-resistant S Mutans. I then found several research articles confirming this, but some studies state that the xylitol-resistant S. Mutans is less cariogenic than regular S. Mutans, while others state that there is no difference in the cariogenecity of the two. I'm not sure what to make of this new information, and would love to hear your thoughts.
This positive effect of xylitol was discovered here in Finland in the 1970s and we have plenty of all sorts of xylitol products available in the shops. All kids and many adults consume xylitol mints after every meal. Kids have their mints with them at daycare and school.
I’m 21 and I been trying to improve my oral health once and for all. I grew up being neglected by my parents and they never taught me how important it was to brush your teeth specially after meals, I was also supposed to get braces when I was 12 but that didn't happen and they took to the dentist only two times in my life. 2 years ago i started my journey, and this year I started chewing xylitol gum twice a day, doing oil pulling (i been doing consistently twice a day every day for already 3 months), flossing, taking vitamin k2. My gums are not inflamed and i don't get toothaches anymore, I also notice my teeth remineralizing, and they are so white, soft and shiny I honestly wish I knew all this stuff when I was younger
I just found Dr Ellie Philips on YT & her videos are intriguing. I just tried her system for the first time today. So no opinion on it yet, just hopeful. Anyways I was drawn to your comment for some reason and immediately thought of her since I literally just watched a video of hers on her complete mouth care system and prompted me to share with you.
Unbelievable! I have spent a fortune on my teeth over the years. I am 65 and had so many cavities as a child. The teeth were filled with metal fillings. The teeth cracked. I had my teeth crowned. The crowns fell off. Eventually I had to have my teeth removed and have spent thousands on implants and dentures on top. NO dentist, including specialists have ever suggested xylitol. My kids, now in late thirties also have bad teeth. I have never heard that either of them ever been told by their dentists have ever advised them to use Xylitol. I will be looking into buying xylitol gum!!!
I am that vintage and wished I had researched xylitol years ago. I mentioned to my dentist last week that I am going to try some alternative remedies and the dentist really tried to discourage me from doing that.
I’m so glad that you confirmed it. I was having loose teeth off and on, so I began to chew gum just to exercise my gums and bring in a good blood supply. I chose “Ice cubes” gum because it was sugarless and it turns out it had xylitol. Five years later - no cavities. I’ve always had cavities, almost every year.
@@thatstheguy07 i just read in Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye by Phillips DDS, Ellie- in chapter 12 xylitol it says consuming less than 6 grams daily may not give positive bacterial changes and they said to check the gum because it may be so low its insignificant. also- XYLITOL AND CAVITY PREVENTION Adults who regularly eat around two teaspoons of xylitol (in any form) each day can remove 95 percent of cavity-forming germs from their mouths within six months. Anyone who continues to eat xylitol will notice less plaque forming on their teeth, and the need for dental cleanings will gradually be reduced or eliminated. New parents can use the xylitol mouth-cleaning system in the most exciting way of all-to help control the transmission of harmful bacteria to their babies and limit the chance of their children having a cavity by 70 to 90 percent.9. I am new to using xylitol, I started using xylitol toothpaste & xylitol mouth lozengers two weeks ago. I dissolve a small mint lozenger in my mouth about 6 times a day as i like it and it keeps my breath fresh. I hope that I continue to see improvements because I can tell you that my mouth is in love with xylitol. My teeth are already remaining cleaner, smoother all day and some small cavity activity on a tooth seems to be improving already. I did not expect that to happen for months but I can literally feel the improvement of the cavity, smoothing, becoming less abrasive to my tongue. I've already ordered more lozengers to keep some at my desk at work and other at home. So far I am a big fan. I forgot to mention that I am 64 yrs old and anyone who gets old will tell you that any help you can get with teeth is a great thing as you get old.
I've read that xylitol is used by some MDs that treat chronic Lyme. Xylitol breaks up bacterial plaques, inside the body, too. Presumably, by its action of killing bacteria that try and eat it. Bacterial plaques are implicated in the fearful increase in antibiotic resistance we observe these days, so there may be other benefits we don't understand yet.
It also neutralises the saliva after a meal, ending the erosion that wear down the enamel. It also stimulates saliva production, and due to the now neutrals saliva pH and the minerals in the saliva, the teeth start remineralising.

Over 30 years ago, when I saw this data and compared it to the dentists' advice then I concluded dentists were not my friends (either incompetent or misinformed and unable to percieve their victimhood, or worse lazy, or worse...). I think it is great to be having this discussion today - but I think those dentists are never going to switch over... maybe the next generation, so don't give up. God bless you with the truth and the ability to work with it.
I’m sure when in school they believed that they were being thought the very best in information. Sadly even doctors feel the same way. There are the few that do their own research that really want to solve health problems. American is setup in a weird way, you pay for health and dental insurance, you go to the doctor, they give you a prescription to suppress the symptoms but not cure the cause, the pharmaceutical companies sale you or your insurance pills which you are paying for anyway, and the sicker you get, the more expensive insurance you need, and the hospital run expensive test, the doctor sees you again for fifteen minutes after waiting an hour, and you get more pills! It’s a system that’s killing Americans because the FDA approves refined sugars, sugar substitutes, and hormones for chickens, beef and pork that we consume, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of the harmful things that other countries have rejected from the U.S. 😮
I just talked to my dentist last week (dec-2023) and she was as you describe. If I get major improvement, it will be interesting to see how she reacts.

Here in Finland almost ALL chewing gums have xylitol. It is much more complicated to find a sugar based chewing gums. Only downside if consumed in big amount - slighly laxative.
We have a lot of artificially sweetened gums well in the USA. I would prefer plain sugared gum as the fake ones cause body wide aches and pains... 😢 Not to mention tion the studies showing neurological damage... Not sure where Xylitol falls in the studies, will be checking it out.
xylitol was "associated with increase blood clot formation. This, in turn, could increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. Given these findings, further safety studies of sugar alcohol as artificial sweeteners are warranted."
I noticed chewing gum improve digestion of food. Due to low stomach acidity I got poor food digestion. Chewing gum condition greatly improved. One more benefit noticed- chewing gum- great for stress reduction.

More incredible how normal plaque has disappeared. I no longer need cleanings as often.
May I suggest that when chewing xylitol gum, try to retain as much of the xylitol as possible and as long as possible before swallowing it. That way, you can use it plus your saliva as a kind-of mouthwash, AND the gum-chewing sort-of acts like a pump or oral irrigator to push the xylitol/saliva solution into grooves of teeth, between teeth, under gums a little, etc. Also, in this way, by not swallowing it right away, you make the effects last longer AND, if xylitol give you gas, you can just spit it out after a minute or so. If you've ever heard of "oil-pulling", you know what I'm talking about -- BUT -- I would say that doing "xylitol-pulling" would be MASSIVELY more effective and convenient than oil-pulling. Mark -- we've got to get together sometime on your podcast and have some banter! It would be fun and informative.
@@norsegaudI do that. I got a bag of birch xylitol and take half a teaspoon amount straight into the mouth after teeth brushing morning and evening. And then I don’t drink (in the morning) for a while to maintain the xylitol for as long as possible between the teeth. It dissolves very fast as the saliva production is so intense in reaction the xylitol so it’s real easy to the swish it around. I spit and then don’t rinse. Works so far. Teeth feel cleaner for longer and less plaque build up in general. Breath is also better.
Great to learn of the Xylitol benefits -- thank you! I love Xylitol gum (my fav brand begins w/ "S") and have used this gum for 3 years now. I chew gum because I have non-allergic rhinitis and the gum helps to keep my throat from being so irritated. I won't use artificial sweeteners and don't care to use regular sugars -- for those obvious reasons. I actually began using Xylitol in 2020 as a nasal spray -- XClear. It was recommended by my FLCCC doctor as a preventative measure for C-19. I continue to use XClear as a way to clear my nasal passages -- it is very soothing.

Man, have dentists failed us all for the past 50 years... I don't know anybody in America that has good teeth. Anyone. Everyone brushed and flossed and used Listerine and none of it helped. In fact, my dentist made things way worse by grinding down two perfectly teeth to add in a bridge to bridge a gap where I had lost a tooth. I didn't like the bridge at all, there was no point to it, so I didn't wear it, which left the two teeth totally exposed and of course without the enamel or outer layer any more, they eroded to nothing... so I lost... 3 teeth in a row. Great job. Looking back in hindsight, I'm like, how could I let that absolute 1d10t do such a thing...

However, their expertise is nonexistent. I completely agree with your comment. What happened to you happens to most people. I am a user of xylitol, as explained by Dr Ellie Phillips on its use and benefits, and I can assure you after using it for 5 months, it is the best thing for my teeth. I have noticed my gums are healthier, teeth feel stronger, my teeth always feel clean. I put off getting a root canal that I needed 5 months ago, I don't need it anymore. In fact, I don't think I need a dentist anymore. Check out the pioneer of xylitol use for teeth- dentist Dr Ellie Phillips on youtube. She has many videos. Newer research has shown that the only other sugar that works like xylitol is erythritol, and it is even better than xylitol. I don't use chewing gum though. I dissolve a small amount in water, and after cleaning my teeth after each meal, I let this solution swirl in my mouth and then I swallow. Basically I have xylitol working on my teeth between meals, and in the night .
Another dentist ,Ellie Phillips ,has videos on UA-cam that discuss many issues in addition to xylitol that are important to preventing cavities and gum disease.

What am I missing here? Can you explain why or how a mother chewing xylitol before the birth of a child affects that child’s oral health positively... AND how caregivers or grandparents that chew Xylitol BEFORE their grandchild’s teeth erupt...affect a child’s oral health against getting cavities ???
It's because the bad bacteria can be transferred to the child at birth. If the bacteria is not there to start with it can't be transferred and won't colonise the child's mouth.
@@paulinedavis8734 Hi Pauline, here's how xylitol can help newborns: First if all, tooth decay is an infectious microbial disease. Mothers are the first persons to transmit their own decay germs to their babies. You know how mothers often test and taste baby food before feeding babies, and mothers kiss the babies, and I've seen mothers moisten a tissue with their own saliva to wipe a baby's face. Well, those are just a few of the ways mothers pass their own dental germs to their newborns. Then, the rest of the family, pets, friends, etc. all pass their various germs too. We are all passing germs to and from. Thus, by the time a child reaches the age of tooth eruption, the decay and gum disease germs have been already entrenched in the child's mouth. Then, the germs feed on carbohydrates that the child eats -- not just sugar -- carbohydrates in general -- even pasta, bread, rice, salty pretzels, crackers, fruits, vegetables, etc. Saliva contains enzymes that break down complex carbs into simpler carbs, and the simpler carbs are the decay germs' favorite foods. So everyone can get decay even if they avoid candy and sodas, and even salty Crackers and pretzels. So ---- how do you fight decay? By fighting the germs. Sure, brushing teeth helps, but most people are inefficient about oral hygiene and leave behind about 20 billion microbes despite their best oral hygiene efforts. This is where xylitol comes into play. Xylitol is very good at inhibiting the metabolism of the decay germs so much, that they tend to die off. It's been shown that using 7 grams of xylitol spread out through the day for six months can dramatically reduce decay germs in the mouth to such few numbers as to be almost undetectable. SO -- if a mother starts using xylitol gum , mints, toothpaste, etc. every day after learning she's pregnant, then by the time the baby is born, the mother has a very low risk of passing decay germs to the baby. If the other family members use xylitol too, then they will have less risk of passing decay germs too. And everyone will benefit from better oral health as well. But do not give pets xylitol, as it is not good for pets. Mainly that's because pet physiology is not exactly like human physiology, so pets' bodies think xylitol is a sugar, but it's not a sugar -- it's a sugar-alcohol -- so the pets' pancreas shoots out excess insulin to try to process the xylitol, but the insulin reduces the pets' blood glucose so much that the pet can go into a coma because the brain runs on glucose. But this does not happen in humans. I repeat ... this does not happen in humans. Anyway, now that you know that sugar does not directly cause tooth decay, and that decay is a microbial infection, you can now understand how someone can pass germs, or not.

This video came to my recommendation so I wanted to share my story - my first pregnancy resulted in 8 big cavities which one of them resulted to a root canal and I was desperate and tried almost everything that promised to help save my teeth. Then I discovered xylitol and chew xylitol gums almost everyday during my second pregnancy. Yesterday I got back from the dentist for my yearly appointment and they did some x-rays and I had ZERO cavities and my dentist was amazed and kept asking me what medications do I take and what Ive been doing and when looking at the x-ray he only said this “this is more than good, it looks fantastic” so thank you xylitol gums, the one thing I keep repurchasing over and over 🙏
So encouraging. I was just at the dentist's and he told me that essentially only your gums are affected during pregnancy...which was untrue as I know saliva is acidic during pregnancy and that is a favorite environment for cavity causing bacteria. Stress also lowers body pH with increasing cortisol Needless to say, I began a deep dive into this topic to save my teeth before the next pregnancy. After the third baby I got a giant cavity regardless of the care I put into my teeth. I go to the dentist because I really care for my oral health and it was discouraging to have a big cavity.

I'm highly allergic to Xylitol and Sorbitol, and anything else labelled "natural flavour." i recently tried Snow toothpaste for one day, even though both of these were on the label. I wasn't going to be swallowing it, so I hoped that absorbing it through the mouth would be okay. Big mistake. I was sick the whole next day with my usual reaction...extreme fatigue, body-wide pain and a migraine. I've been having a lot of migraines the last couple of years. After this episode i checked the "natural" toothpaste I'd been using, Burt's Bees and Tom's. Both contain Xylitol. i've made my own natural tooth powder to brush with. My headaches are drastically reduced. i guess the Snow toothpaste was good for something, eh? BTW, I'm 65 with no cavities , my daughter is 35 with no cavities.
I'm not allergic, I'm just "sensitive" to artificial sweeteners and flavouring, even if it's "natural". I know every artificial sweet is different but they must have something in common since my digestive track won't tolerate them. It never occurred to me that I might be absorbing the small amount in toothpaste and thus having skin or tummy reactions... but it might help explain why I can't even "fully" recover as there's always some issue even if I'm eating super clean avoiding all my sensitivities. Thanks for sharing, it's an absolute headache to navigate this ultra processed word with allergies and sensitivities. I'm sorry you have UK deal with this. but TBH It's nice to encounter someone that also gets some reaction, makes me feel a little less crazy as everyone around me think I'm exaggerating since I don't get these obvious external and immediate symptoms.

I have Lyme for over 15 years and still very sick, mostly my brain and fatigue. I have tried all kinds of biofilm busters, but nothing has helped. How do you use the Xylitol?
@@094340 Hi. If you do a web search for "healingwell lyme xylitol biofilm," you should find some articles on that site that discuss its use. I've never personally taken it internally as a supplement. Rather, it's in my toothpaste and gum. At some point, though, I do hope to try it as a standalone supplement. If you haven't seen the website "Treat Lyme by Marty Ross MD," that may be worth reviewing. There's lots of free information, including his treatment guide. My main issues are fatigue, brain/cognition/memory issues, and sleep apnea, so I have a lot of empathy for your situation. I'm sorry for your suffering, my friend. May you find the relief and healing you deserve. God bless you.

Dr Burhenne can you advise on this with explanation on how xylitol can have an impact on this and if not why. Thank you so much . I follow all your videos.
I've had gum disease for around 24 years. I have that, plus some cavities. I'm following Dr. Ellie's plan now, but my teeth shifted throughout those 24 years and caused grinding/jaw clenching when I'm concentrating on work and stuff. So, I've developed a habit of gum chewing literally ALL day when I'm not eating.I tend to chew the same peice most of the day, only changing it out when it gets so stiff that my jaws "ache" a bit. I haven't gotten xylotol gum yet, but hopefully later today. Just wanting to ask about chewing literally all day. I'm addicted to the act of chewing/bubbles/aggressing bubble popping now. The type of gum doesn't matter, unless i can't "clack" it lol. I'm making light, but within 30 minutes of waking I pop in a piece of gum then while reading my book in bed I'm still chewing/clacking and only take it out when i catch myself dozing. Is this ok? I mean, I'm planning on doing the same with xylotol, but I literally believe it's an addiction. It's not a harmless one, if it "hurts" my teeth more than I'm trying to help them. Or causes stomach pain.
Making your own mints from bulk xylitol (crystals) is so easy--just put a cup of xylitol in a double boiler over medium heat and stir while it's heating. When it starts to melt, flick a few drops of your favorite flavor of essential oil (like ginger or lemon) and continue to stir until melted. Quickly spoon onto a couple of plates covered with parchment paper and let cool. When cool, break into pieces as desired, and put in tins to eat whenever you want.
Hi Mark, thank you for this wonderful video!!! I looked at the 'simply gum' link you provided. Have they changed their recipe? There is no zylitol in the ingredients and the top ingredient is raw cane sugar so I am not sure it's the same product anymore? Thanks
The link of the Simply gum that was recommended states it is xylitol free. GOOD INGREDIENTS ONLY: Organic Raw Cane Sugar, Natural Chicle Base (chicle, candelilla wax, citric acid), Organic Vegetable Glycerin, Lime Oil, Natural Chili Flavor, Organic Cayenne Pepper, Sea Salt, Organic Rice Flour. (Aspartame Free Gum that is also Soy-Free, Nut-Free, Kosher, Vegan, Non-GMO, Xylitol-Free) Was this a wrong link or a mistake?
GREAT segment. Please consider that the “frequency” need of xylitol may be do to frequency of eating. I eat once a day. Do I then need multiple exposures to xylitol?
You have likely found it now, but I fairly recently discovered "Pur Gum" in stores here, except for the gum and aroma part, the sweetener is xylitol and nothing else. I think True Mints and Gum are a xylitol and stevia combo, and taste good.
Thanks for this valuable info! As a mom and hygienist this is good to know. I am not quite understanding if you are saying it’s recommended mostly l for moms to be or nursing moms and young children or if it can have similar benefits for grown men and women and teens?
OK for teeth but what about the other warnings.over 50 grams.a day gastro problems and diarrhea. How many grams in a piece of gum? And will somebody tell me about this tumor warning from too much?
I hope that I didn't miss this piece of information, but I am wondering how long one should chew a piece of gum for beneficial effects? Meaning, how long to keep it in the mouth? Thank you.
I am an RDH who read a study 1981. Shirt. Parents. Loved ones. Kiss children and share their bacterial mouth flora. Xylitol when chewed by an stents prevents children from their mouth flora giving them a preponderance for the same dental process. I loved ur presentation. I have had Drs tell me not to tell patients that information. I went to Columbia University. My program no longer exists. Very sad. Was truly a teaching program
Thank you for this informative video. Is gum base used in these xylitol gums safe ? Can we use xylitol crystals with fennel after meals instead, to have the same effect? What are some safe xylitol gums with non toxic gun base?
According to another dentist flossing the wrong way may cause bacteria to be deposited into your gum pockets, that it is best to rinse with Listerine original instead of flossing. To do it twice a day morning and night, but I’m no dentist just passing what was said. 😮
Dr. Ellie Phillips discourages flossing as it pushes the gumline down causing receding gums. As a former periodontal assistant, this surprised me, as flossing was the holy grail to prevent periodontal disease. But after I stopped flossing and started following her program to a T, my gums are getting better, teeth are whiter, and they feel like I just had a cleaning after doing her routine morning and night. I'm 70 btw, and receding gums are common at this age.
@@life2essence She certainly is different. Saw her post something like, "Stop flossing ASAP" and I thought, "That's slightly unusual advice from a medical expert".
Follow her advice. I have, and my oral health has totally turned around. I loathe most dentists and hygienists that I have had contact with through the years. All I ever heard was floss, floss, floss, floss. If anything bad happened in my mouth, they shamed me for not flossing enough or correctly, never mind that a dental quack had filled perfectly good teeth with mercury when I was a child. It's like a sadistic cult.@@kevinsheldrick917
I have been on XYLICHEW, no mention of percent of xylitol. I have cancer, I take chemotherapy tablets twice a day. I have used a cpap machine, with little results. I have been having trouble with cavities for about five years. I am a meticulous mouth cleaner, with all those little instruments, as well as water by my side at all times. I do chew this gum, I have for about to years. In my last check up, another cavity. The dentist has said his cancer patients are in much worse condition than I am, not sure how much gratification that has.
I am using Xylitol twice a day after brushing to change the saliva in my mouth to strengthen and whiten my teeth. Having stated that, have you heard about Xylitol causing Gout flair-ups? Thanks for the confirmation about the use of Xylitol for dental improvement.
Dr B, thanks. In the morning I scrape my tongue drooling with a spoon/ tea spoon. My right nostril is usually clogged. I clear it by jogging on carpet for 12/15 min/nasal breathing/ zipped mouth, for NO production.
It’s amazing that ancient man chewed resin from trees. At least birch sap contains xylitol.

Having Sjogrens Xylimelts are so useful, thanks for formulating them
My dentist told me today that long-term use of xylitol leads to the growth of xylitol-resistant S Mutans. I then found several research articles confirming this, but some studies state that the xylitol-resistant S. Mutans is less cariogenic than regular S. Mutans, while others state that there is no difference in the cariogenecity of the two. I'm not sure what to make of this new information, and would love to hear your thoughts.

Simple answer as to why they’re not telling patients - $$$
I’ve recently found some gum with xylitol. I usually rarely chew gum but now I have xylitol gum in my car, in my purse, in the kitchen…
This positive effect of xylitol was discovered here in Finland in the 1970s and we have plenty of all sorts of xylitol products available in the shops. All kids and many adults consume xylitol mints after every meal. Kids have their mints with them at daycare and school.

I am 64 & had cavities (it seems like every time I went to the dentist) and gingivitis. Xylitol works like magic for me!
@TheLionessCarnivore. You mean eating an all carnivore diet?

I’m so glad that you confirmed it. I was having loose teeth off and on, so I began to chew gum just to exercise my gums and bring in a good blood supply. Where to buy xylitol ?
So the only thing that you did is chewing xylitol and you have not had cavities in the past 5 years? That is pretty good.

@Mary-Mercedes, which brand of xylotol gum and mouthwash do you use?

Please, what is C-19? I think I have non allergic rhinitis too.

I am a user of xylitol, as explained by Dr Ellie Phillips on its use and benefits, and I can assure you after using it for 5 months, it is the best thing for my teeth.
@@paulinedavis8734 Hi Pauline, here's how xylitol can help newborns:
First if all, tooth decay is an infectious microbial disease.

Then I discovered xylitol and chew xylitol gums almost everyday during my second pregnancy. Yesterday I got back from the dentist for my yearly appointment and they did some x-rays and I had ZERO cavities and my dentist was amazed and kept asking me what medications do I take and what Ive been doing and when looking at the x-ray he only said this “this is more than good, it looks fantastic” so thank you xylitol gums, the one thing I keep repurchasing over and over 🙏
How long it takes to remineralize your teeth with xylitol? Is there any trick beside that xylitol to achive the desired results?
What brand of xylitol gum do you chew?
So encouraging. I was just at the dentist's and he told me that essentially only your gums are affected during pregnancy...which was untrue as I know saliva is acidic during pregnancy and that is a favorite environment for cavity causing bacteria. Stress also lowers body pH with increasing cortisol
Needless to say, I began a deep dive into this topic to save my teeth before the next pregnancy.

I've had gum disease for around 24 years. I have that, plus some cavities. Is this ok? What are some safe xylitol gums with non toxic gun base?
Do you have a recommendation for xylitol toothpaste?
I would like to know this too.
Xylitol toothpaste and spry toothpaste 🦷🦷🦷
Can anyone give the name of the very best Xylitol gum and where to buy it? Thank you in advance.
Mark, are there any studies that actually support the use of flossing as a preventive measure for preventing cavities or gum diseases?
According to another dentist flossing the wrong way may cause bacteria to be deposited into your gum pockets, that it is best to rinse with Listerine original instead of flossing. To do it twice a day morning and night, but I’m no dentist just passing what was said. 😮
Make a rinse with xylitol. Much better
!!! It cuts off at 25:15 when he's saying " I'll tell you which form of xylitol I'm most f..."
What's up with that?
He did it on purpose
I am using Xylitol twice a day after brushing to change the saliva in my mouth to strengthen and whiten my teeth. Having stated that, have you heard about Xylitol causing Gout flair-ups? Thanks for the confirmation about the use of Xylitol for dental improvement.
new Subscriber. Thanks for information. I’m wanting to learn about oral health. 👍
Been chewing the gum for about 3 months. Love it noticied the difference straight away.
Dr B, thanks. In the morning I scrape my tongue drooling with a spoon/ tea spoon.
My right nostril is usually clogged. I clear it by jogging on carpet for 12/15 min/nasal breathing/ zipped mouth, for NO production.
