Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.
The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.
By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

I rode with my neighbors when they brought their daughter Charlotte Kim to Hillsdale in the mid 70's. I didn't know anything about Hillsdale then but much respect now and God bless Hillsdale. Always making great Patriotic Americans

Dependence on crony/corporate “capitalism”; I.e., actually neo-fascism.
I have been doubtful about technology as a “help” to the survival of mankind, from the very beginning, as well. My opinion is that our lives are coming to an end more quickly, as a race, thanks to technology. It is the “tower of Babylon” of our times.
ok then if you believe technology doesn't help our survival, refuse any medical treatment until you die.
My niece would not exist if it weren’t for technology. My Dad would not be alive if it weren’t for technology.
yep dependence on tech is near total. thats not healthy nor is it freedom. its the opposite. but its too late to choose a better way, to go down a more natural road. very few kids would know how to survive off the grid.
👉Dear Hillsdale College, Why have you started just showing clips of all the mind expanding talks that you host? I like the WHOLE STORY. I like to take it ALL IN and JUDGE FOR MYSELF. It's not that I don't trust you. But what you find interesting and/or important in an hour long Lecture might not be what I find interesting and/or important.
SUGGESTION: Post ALL the Lectures and post them in their ENTIRETY. Then, in order to serve those, who for various reasons cannot watch the whole thing, make 15 minutes, 5 minutes and/or 2 minutes clips, which easily fits the superficial format of, for instance Social Media.
Keep up the good work! 👍

great talk. i think since 1997 tech is here to help. not harm. its the data mgmt thats the question, not the help or aid or services AI bring for example dr todd grande did a good upload at youtube about chat gpt and its outcomes or the issue it arrived at. tech is new not scary. all beacuse its new doesnt make it scary. its new. AI is growing. I heard in 2000 or after there, ,there was a movie about AI around 2003. so right now tech is IQ 250+ and is around 22 to 25 years old. its new and expanding. all befcause life is expanding its not ending or in dire straits of threats.
