In case anyone is interested, Nancy Wilson is playing a 1953 or 1954 CF-100 acoustic/electric guitar made by Gibson. Very rare, I got one, acoustic version. They made two, an acoustic and a electric version, extremely rare in those days!
I’ve been watching all the Ann & Nancy Videos on UA-cam. My God those women are talented. There has been no one like them since they began in 74. Awesome solo female artists musicians, but not 2 from one family. Thank you for posting this!
01:02 Nancy needs a moment to fix her hair but doesn't miss a beat. Incredible medley, put it on a loop. They should have done a whole album or two (or 20) like this. It's not too late, they are still great.
I was wondering if I'd ever see this performance again. I remember even at the time I thought it was a little weird that they were promoting a new album by singing an Elvis medley. If memory serves me, the interview afterward was awkward. Letterman demonstrated his amazing pop culture erudition by identifying the songs as Elvis tunes, and Ann responded that "we wrote those." Ever the condescending creep, Dave even asked them their ages.
I'd love to see the interview part as well. In '93, they were on The Late Show with Letterman as well and performed "Black on Black II." IIRC, when Dave introduced them, he said that he was married to the Wilson Sisters in the seventies. Ha! So does anybody have that clip to share? I'd love to see that again. :-)
OK so here is the bottom line truth if ann wilson was singing the phone book and Nancy Wilson was playing a 3" plastic guitar from the Dollar Tree it would still sound good
Anybody know their set list when they, along with Teardrop Explodes & Joan Jett and the Blackhearts opened for Queen at Elland Road Football Stadium in Leeds on 5/29/1982?
This song was originally done by Wanda Jackson (the first lady of Rock and Roll)..and Elvis dated her for a while and recorded it later on. Wanda Jackson's version is HOT!
@brywool I know it really sucks, but people don't pay as much attention to hard rock except ones that love it like us. I'm saying this cause anytime on American Idol when there is a good rock artist they vote them off really fast even though they kick ass compared to the ones in the end. I think a major part of the country must be part deaf.
I tell ya, I don't have the cojones to go on Letterman and take on Heartbreak Hotel good job, and fun... myoosicians today too serious and "professional" no roots...
Ann Wilson... perhaps the best female rock singer of our generation.
Both such beautiful people and so talented.
ipouponu perhaps, she IS
ann the best female rock voice of this century.
couldn't have said it better myself.......!
Ann and then Chris Cornell takes the male voice of the century.

Wow! Did not know that covered Elvis songs!❤❤❤ And it's 2024!

Very Cool! Love Heart! Ann’s voice is the best!
Elvis would be proud!

Love you always Ann and Nancy! Thanks for sharing your gift with us all these years:) Lance
Didn't know Ann was so good on guitar wow!
Ann and Nancy are THE most underrated people in rock. Britney, Beyonce, etc. got NOTHING on Ann and Nancy.
I wish the interview would exist on the internet. Always love to hear what Ann & Nancy have to say, they are as smart as they are talented!
it does now!
Well, this is refreshing. And to see them perform Stairway to Heaven at the President's Awards for Led Zeppelin. Amazement.
I have never seen this clip before in my life ! ! Now THIS is something different, isnt it ! ?
Ann is so effin hot! Thanks Ann and Nancy. We love you.

Lets Have a Party, was a big hit back in the late 50's for Wanda Jackson, an early rock and roll pioneer, she played guitar, and sang, she still does.
No coincidence, either...she was often called the "female Elvis". Over a decade ago, I caught her live at a folk festival.
Wow what a surprise treat this is! !!
何歌っても文句なしのAnnのvocal、何弾いてもバリバリのNancyのアコギ!もっと聴きたいElvis covers!! 今度は是非、日本で!!!
Haha, never seen this before, very nice! I love Heart!
Wow! Thank you for posting!
Agora que eu sou mais fã delas descobri que também são fãs do The King Elvis Presley
Amazing!!!

Good stuff from two great rockers.
I've been wanting to see that for years! Thanks, Seattleboy--you made my day.
WOW!! Beautiful
Just awesome!
@ipouponu As a Piano & Vocal teacher, the First Rock singer I tell the kids to liten is Ann Wilson from Heart. Best rock vocalist of all time.
Love it !!!
I wish you had the interview as well
thanks for this, wish there was a better copy
Heartbreak Hotel was written by Mae Axton, Hoyt Axton's mom.

❤❤❤
Where the hell did you dig this up from...
I heard that they also sang his songs!
Anybody know their set list when they, along with Teardrop Explodes & Joan Jett and the Blackhearts opened for Queen at Elland Road Football Stadium in Leeds on 5/29/1982?

I believe Elvis recored in 1957, and Wanda's version came out in 1958(wiki). Wanda Jackson did have a big hit with it.
In hd please.
The Loverly Wilson Sisters!
Wanda Jackson & Mae Axton compositions actually, not Elvis Presley.
Ever enjoyable!
: )
Songs Elvis made famous.

I thought i read somewhere that bon jovi did the first unplugged session... I think its wrong cause this video just proved that Heart did it first.
@brywool true that
@brywool: AGREE
Uh, right. But they were out of sync at the end of "Havin' A Party" and Ann flubbed the lyrics to a line of "Heartbreak Hotel."
(ugh, well that was some bullshit as I would have killed for that interview)
Elvis wishes lol
So they were not influenced by the Runaways?
Na
Would it have killed them to rehearse?
I tell ya, I don't have the cojones to go on Letterman and take on Heartbreak Hotel
good job, and fun...
myoosicians today too serious and "professional"
no roots...
ol Andy and Ned WIL-SONS acting like woman what a JOKE
This is horrible. Worst thing I've ever heard them do.
Are u crazy it’s probably one of the best covers ever
(:
