It wasn't clear in the video, but the non hack device requires the head unit to already have Apple CarPlay, so it's not really an alternative for those who are looking to add CarPlay.
Hey with HondaHack and wireless CarPlay, were you able to get CarPlay based Apple Maps and Waze through to your instrument cluster? Ik you can through Waze downloaded straight to the head unit but I love CarPlay. Thx!

Is it laggy? I’ve used wireless dongles before and all of then have had some kind of late reaction when I put up volume or change song or talking on the phone too.

Unsure about the Pilot but the CRV uses the same head unit. Can you root it with AutoHack.org (HondaHack)?

Yes but it has a USB port on it as well to charge a device

i have a 2016 honda civic EXT and my apple carplay is always glitching, going back and forth on the apple screen and then closing out of it to the regular screen. can you tell me what’s wrong with it? or if would be better to get this bc maybe it’s a wire issue? i use an original apple charger so i don’t know what the problem is.

Trevor Brent it won’t sadly. This one is only for adding carplay wirelessly. There may be a new version that does!
There is a better and cheaper way to do wireless android auto look for an app called head unit reloaded. Google it to see how it works, I'm using it now and it's $6 for the app nothing else needed.

Hey man, quick question. After installing the AutoKit app, does car play auto start every time you turn on the car? Or I have to click on the app every time I turn the car on? Also, can you plug it in the usb port in the arm rest or have to be the main usb port under the head unit? Thank you
I tried Honda hack you can customize whatever app to launch automatically when start. But I hate the fact that Honda hack isn't that stable at least for my case. Also an app with root privilege can do pretty much anything on your device, good or bad.
Han Nguyen Honda hack lets you choose your boot up app so it starts automatically. I tried the center console and it works but dongle sometimes hits cup holder
@@kakeru123 Thank you for the info. I am debating should I use Honda Hack or not. Most case it will be offline so I dont think it will have much impact, but the fact that all the app will have root access is pretty scary.

Hi bud, my car is Honda CR-V 2020 but couldn’t install the apk file. Dongle says only support Android 4.4.2 or up, however I believe our factory system is only 4.2.2, did you upgrade your radio android system? Thanks
