Great scenery, There used to be quite a few Rattle Snakes around 50 years ago, enough we checked our sleeping bags before crawling into them, hoochie tents made from our ponchos. Thanks for sharing..
I can imagine you would. We were definitely watching our step after spotting that one. Seems like people have put a quite dent in their population from what I’ve heard. No problem, I’m glad you liked it!
Nice video. We spend our summers all over Georgian Bay sailing and the Ratllers are becoming increasingly common. It is a worry if you have a dog or young kids unfortunately and you have to watch where you step at night.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. Sounds like you’re living quite the life!Unfortunately we had both a kid and a dog on site with us lol. Had us a bit on edge for the rest of the night but it was definitely interesting to see a Rattler in the wild. Despite the danger I’m glad we had the encounter
Great video. Any chance you can pin point the spots where you camped? Thinking of doing the same trip but I’m sure it’s difficult to find descent spots on the north side of the island. Thx
We camped somewhere around winakaching bay the first night on the south side of this island( there’s tons of sites around there). The second night we camped just a bit north east of Hinks island I believe. Third night was spent in mill lake along the south west side although there was a much nicer site that I discovered while fishing. On one of the most southern large island in the lake. Our last night we camped on the same site as the first night but there was an epic site somewhere along the north side of the island before you would get to turning island. I can’t remember exactly where that was but it would be hard to miss, big open rock hill. I believe I had some shots of the site I’m referring to in my video. There are a fair amount of sites along the north side of the island but definitely not as abundant as the south. Hopefully that helps you out!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Parking wasn’t free since it seems you’re either parking at the chikanishing trailhead or granite ridge trailhead which both seem to be part of Killarney. Atleast the camping was free though!
@@ryansroutes1805 ah that’s great! Pay for parking isn’t bad at all! The worst is leaving your car somewhere sketchy then worrying about it all weekend! Haha I hope to get up there soon! Thanks man!
Nice trip How do you like the media mod with video micro? Vs just the onbiard mic? Do you uave any moisture issues with the media mod?? And any trouble swapping out batteries?
I love the sound quality especially when dealing with the wind. On board mic is terrible in comparison even compared to the onboard mic on my GoPro max it sucks. Media mod mic isn’t great either for that matter lol. I did a test between all four when I picked up the micro and it went micro, max, media mod then hero 9. I haven’t had any moisture issues with the media mod but I have had to replace it once because the audio jack started giving me issues. Swapping out batteries is a chore but I’ve gotten fast at it. You have to take it off the mount, fold the tabs in, remove the mic then you can open the door and change the battery lol. It’s a bit of a process. Personally I don’t think it was designed very well lol
@@ryansroutes1805 good to hear a review of the media mod from someone who actually uses it in the wild in my same use case. My exact concerns were if it was a chore to replace the battery and it seems like it is. I think I might just continue to edit out the wind noise in post 😅. Thanks for posting the trip the Philip Edward islands looks like a great place to visit. Maybe I'll do that later this season 👍👍👍
Chances of me paddling GBay 0. Chances of me bringing a toddler paddling on GBay --100. Dont know where i would find a toddler but I wouldnt take it to GBay lol

Great video man, I'll definitely be doing that trip in the near future, my sportspal should do good.
Thanks! For sure, just try and pick a weekend that isn’t too windy. A lot of people out there were rocking sea kayaks.
@ryansroutes1805 thanks man, I've always heard Georgian bay can be pretty crazy at times.
We're actually doing it this labour day weekend with a sportspal!
