FANTASTIC ! I love your wife's closing words - " all you need is shelter, food, & love"
Thank you. This was a great trip for us. Glad you enjoyed the closing words. 🙏
Another great trip to add to the books!
Thanks again. This was one of our day trips so far.
Terrific you two. Love the single-part full trip vid and the shared narration. That last line in particular was beautiful. That smallie was a full-fledged TOAD!
Hahah....It was a TOAD. Thanks very much Jon. It was a different style for us but it was nice doing the shared narration. Normally (as you would know all to well) I spend so much time on my own editing and it was a nice change to have Ashley involved. Looks like you have had another amazing summer Jon. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Keep on rockin.
Magical and beautiful you two. Totally awesome adventure. Thank you!
Thank you. This was one of our favourite trips. Appreciate the comment very much.

Amen to your closing monologues Keenan & Ashley! Kindred spirits and "if it was easy, everyone would do it", right?! So many moments in this one just breathtaking and what an epic paddle. These water are jaw dropping. Best beer ever award goes to you Keenan ;-) Ashley, your meals look SO good. You two are terrific team battling through days of crappy weather but the pay off in scenery and wildlife are off the charts. BRAVO and as always THANK YOU for it all. 💪🙌💜 Barret
Thanks very much Barret. This was a special trip for us. We love Huron and the north shore. I’m sure we’ll do it again one day. Thanks very much for the comment as always.

You got that right! They fight way above their weight don't they!
It is very inspiring and relaxing. Thank you!

Spectacular film guys. I would never have thought of this route as a trip but it looked like a great one!
So true, I wouldn't have thought of such a route! I might try it after a few more years of experience.
Its a very cool route and something a little different. Camping can be a little bit challenging in some places but with a little bit of imagination its all good. Thanks so much Larry.
Thankful that you and your mustangs have had shelter in this winter weather. Enjoyed your teaching regarding your hat. Hopefully you’ll be able to lay up for a few days during the upcoming bad weather.🙏

Appreciate it very much Nature lover. Huron is an amazing lake! Thanks for watching.
Thank-you for another beautiful film. This one was hard work but you both make a great team and it all looks so effortless. It is not effortless and the arms must ache at the end of a day! Take care. 🙂
Definitely some tired arms some days 😂. Thanks you very much

Thank you very much for your kind words. Greatly appreciated 🙏 🛶 🇮🇩 🇨🇦
A challenging trip for you both. The North Channel is beautiful. Thanks
Thanks so much Linda. We love the north channel.
We just discovered your series! AWESOME!! My wife’s parents (dad and late mom) still own the PITFIELD GENERAL STORE you paddled past in the Killarney Channel! It was so cool to see that. We were hoping you would be going inside the store to stock up on supplies or a bag of chips lol
Now sharing your video with Killarney friends and family :) thx for a great video - well done. And yeah - omg that HUGE bass you caught! Wow
Oh no way. That’s awesome. We absolutely went into the store but didn’t film it. We’ve done this trips. Couple times and have stopped at this store both times. Great little shop. Appreciate the comment very much.
@@CanoeTheNorth haha that’s too cool! You should film it next time! Terrie’s dad Bill is turning 89 this year and still working there some days, as is her baby sister Sue ;) Terrie and her siblings were raised in the beautiful loft above the store (most amazing view across the bay) and Sue has been living up there for at least as long as I’ve been with Terrie 🏳️🌈 (going on 29 years!) That store is very special. One memory she brings up is of her dad jumping off the dock every evening after work and many seasonal boaters who would bring her little gifts when they would come stock up at the beginning of the season. That store front from the rear view has been captured many times in photo and paints, in fact a local artist is currently auctioning off a painting of it right now as a fundraiser to help her brother and his wife. I’ll email you the poster so you can see the painting. Such a small world. And believe it or not, out of all the episodes, the crossing Huron one is the one we picked to watch first cause we were hoping to see footage of Manitoulin Island as that is our permanent home for the past 15 years (Silverwater - best sunsets in the world). Low n behold…. there was Terrie’s store! And the channel view. Sooo soo awesome!! So ty!!!
Loved this one Guys such great camera work and beautiful sounds. Such incredible wilderness you have to explore. Keep up the awesome videos and we LOVE! seeing your amazing dogs they really make the films. Cheers Mike and Vixs from the UK.
Thanks very much guys. We are very very spoiled over here with all the wild places we have to explore. It’s something we should not take for granted. Glad you enjoy the pups. We couldn’t imagine tripping without them!
Excellent adventure! I must say I felt a little worried when I saw those waves and dark gray weather ahead on such big water. Great tips on the fog navigation, better safe than sorry, always take the longer safe way. As always, great photography and composition, just perfect. Thanks for putting this video together!
Thank you very much for the comment. That fog can certainly give you a creepy feeling. Makes the trip all that more interesting though. Thanks again.
Great trip, beautifully captured.
Thank you! 🙏
Excellent video thanks for the hard work. 👍
Thanks so much guys. We appreciate the support more than you know!

Really well done video of a beautiful place!
Huron is a very amazing place. Thanks so much Michael.
Great trip and great video, thank you for all the extra work to take us along. Just bought some hunting land a couple of hours from huron and superior. Going to make some day trips with the canoe and hopefully one of the kids or my wife
Thats awesome. Its a beautiful area with lots of wildlife for sure. Lots of amazing places to go paddling and crown land camping as well. Thanks very much for watching and hope you enjoy your new property!
What an epic trip! I envy your youth and enthusiasm and environmental sensitivity, not to mention your great travelling companions. When we were your age we did canoe trips to Quetico and later Killarney and lived in the Yukon for 3 years where we hiked a lot. I took up kayaking some years ago and had the good fortune to do several of this videos sections. French River, Killarney and Philip Edward Island and the Lacloche/ Whalesback Channel. We live in a beautiful part of Ontario. Even though my camping days are likely over I still can do day trips and I can see the LaCloche area from my home. You have such a great future ahead for trips. Thank you!
Hi Carol. Thank you very much for the nice message. It sounds like you have had your share of adventures! Living in the Yukon for three years sounds just about perfect to me. Thanks again for the message and support.
Thank you for sharing your trips. Excellent rythm, filming editing and narration. So professional and so relaxing to watch.
Thanks Alexandre. Really appreciate the comment. Glad you enjoy the trips!
Love the video! Have spent much time on the northern part of Huron - it is truly beautiful!
Hi Sherrie. We could not agree with you anymore! It’s a pretty amazing place and there is hardly anyone there. Thanks so much.
Подписка и лайк за хороший канал 👍
большое спасибо!
Great video and awesome route choice!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Kevin. Greatly appreciated!
Thanks for another awesome video! I really enjoyed it.
You are more than welcome. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Haitao!
very nice!
Thanks James
What a great trip! The wildlife was amazing. So many bears. What was that bird with the unusual (to me) call? Was it some type of crane? It was beautiful.
I know exactly why you do these kind of trips. Ashley described it perfectly.
Thanks for another fantastic video.
Now, bring on the snow! 😆
Hi Alan. Thanks for the comment. That bird is a Sandhill Crane. Beautiful and huge bird. We seem to be seeing more and more of them now. As sad as it is to see the water freeze up we are looking forward to winter as well. Thanks again!
Sandhill cranes were once used (efforts continue) as surrogate mating pairs in an effort to save the last Whooping cranes left on Earth. There were only 52 Whooping cranes left alive in the 1970s. The surrogate program has presented challenges to U.S. and Canadian scientists but they have managed to increase the population to approximately 800 with the help of nature preserves and conservation efforts. Sandhills are the only species of crane that are not in danger of extinction although the area where Ashley and Keenan are is the Southern most limit for their summer breeding season. A & K are close to where a Whooping crane was found dead, shot by some moron, four years ago.
Great work on this video guys! Loved that you did the voiceovers together. And man, that bass was a tank! Nice haul Keenan. Even though I haven't done the exact route, I recognize many of the regions and areas you've passed through as I've paddled a lot of the regions north of there. Great to see it from the coastal side. And man, that was a lot of bear sightings! Congrats, you guys are killing it!
Morning David. Thanks buddy. We took a note out of your book with the voiceovers. We had a lot of fun doing the voiceovers together. It was nice to get Ashley involved in the editing of the video. We could not believe all the bear sightings either. We kept looking at each other in disbelief every time we saw another one. Crazy. Thanks for watching David and appreciate the comment very much.
Watched this last night, at last!. We both really enjoyed your adventure. Loved the wildlife, the reality of being in an environment that is both beautiful and unforgiving. The film made it very clear that these places are not served up on a plate without investment, planning, risk and discomfort. The Canadian English dynamic makes me smile. Loved the dogs, and you even got some fishing in. Hell of a Bass, Keenan 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks very very much Matt. We had a good time on that trip. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a nice comment and ya…that bass was a beast! Couldn’t believe I landed it. Happy holidays!
Amazing. I visited port Austin in the fall 2019. Strong wind and heavy rain. Lake Huron was like an ocean, angry waves... lol..
Thanks TL. Yes Lake Huron can certainly seem like an ocean at times. It is such a huge body of water. One of our favourite places to paddle.
@@CanoeTheNorth Thanks for this warm reply and uploading so many great videos. Have a good one. :)
Nice filming and great edit. Keep up the videos they are top notch. The few times that I’ve seen bears while canoeing are at the outlet of the old voyager channel as well. I can’t believe how many you guys seen!
We couldn’t believe it either. It almost got comical out there. We kept looking at each other in shock! It was very cool and I don’t expect to ever have another trip with that many bears again but who knows…..
Great video!
One of the best video you guys did I enjoy very much ,the wild life was amazing see than.
Thank you for sharing with us :)
We got really lucky with all of the wildlife on that trip. Very cool. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
Fantastic camera work and editing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! You are more than welcome. Appreciate the comment.
What an amazing trip, absolutely loved watching it, the music is perfect. Very professional Keenan, they’re just getting better and better.
Thanks Mum!!!
Great trip ,great filming. Loved the new documentary style. Keep them coming, we’ll done.
Thank you very much Steve! Glad you enjoyed the new style.
Another enjoyable video. Glad the pups were invited. Sounded like Betty Lou was getting excited by the moose!
Hahaha….ya. Betty Lou was excited. So was Hugo. Every time we see a large animal the go nuts. We will be a kilometre away and their noses start twitching. It’s interesting to watch.
@@CanoeTheNorth Hugo seems too laid back to get excited about a large animal. Now, a new place to snooze or a back scratch, that I can see! LOL!
Also, what a PIG of a smallie! Must have been on heck of a fight!
This looks good. Only about 20 minutes into it, will finish it after. Good spot for a spray deck...
Thanks Travel by water. Hopefully the rest of the video is up to par. Appreciate the comment!
Just discovered this channel...good stuff!
Awesome John. Glad you found us and appreciate the support.
Wow! 7lb bass...Tough weather to start but you two handled it well. Another awesome trip! Betty passed out on the food barrels LOL
Biggest bass I’ve ever caught that’s for sure. I was using the smallest spoon in my tackle box and I cannot believe I landed that one. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Hope you and your pup had a great paddling season! Thanks Jay.
Well done. I live in Georgian bay and know the north east corner quite well, and enjoyed your trip from start to finish. This is the first of your videos I’ve watched will for sure take a look back and watch for more in the future. Your videography, music and voiceovers were excellent. Thank you. Perfect timing as today is our first real snowstorm for fall of 2021.
You live in a very beautiful part of the province. Its always a pleasure to paddle on Georgian bay. Thanks very much for the kind worlds about the video. We appreciate it very much!
lol solid advice! "just get a line in the water"
Thanks Flowerchild Vee. 🎣
Many Ontarians like myself do not connect Georgian Bay with Lake Huron. I grew up going to the cottage near Honey Harbour never thinking our waters were in fact part of Lake Huron. So many memories in Southern Georgian Bay in the 30 thousand Islands region.
Hi Jim. Thanks for the comment. Totally agree with you. Georgian bay is like it’s own lake isn’t it. Love Georgian bay with all the smooth islands! Awesome place.
