Terrific you two. Love the single-part full trip vid and the shared narration. That last line in particular was beautiful. That smallie was a full-fledged TOAD!
Hahah....It was a TOAD. Thanks very much Jon. It was a different style for us but it was nice doing the shared narration. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Keep on rockin.

We just discovered your series! AWESOME!! My wife’s parents (dad and late mom) still own the PITFIELD GENERAL STORE you paddled past in the Killarney Channel! It was so cool to see that. We were hoping you would be going inside the store to stock up on supplies or a bag of chips lol Now sharing your video with Killarney friends and family :) thx for a great video - well done. And yeah - omg that HUGE bass you caught! Wow
Oh no way. That’s awesome. We absolutely went into the store but didn’t film it. We’ve done this trips. Couple times and have stopped at this store both times. Great little shop. Appreciate the comment very much.
@@CanoeTheNorth haha that’s too cool! You should film it next time! Terrie’s dad Bill is turning 89 this year and still working there some days, as is her baby sister Sue ;) Terrie and her siblings were raised in the beautiful loft above the store (most amazing view across the bay) and Sue has been living up there for at least as long as I’ve been with Terrie 🏳️🌈 (going on 29 years!) That store is very special. One memory she brings up is of her dad jumping off the dock every evening after work and many seasonal boaters who would bring her little gifts when they would come stock up at the beginning of the season. That store front from the rear view has been captured many times in photo and paints, in fact a local artist is currently auctioning off a painting of it right now as a fundraiser to help her brother and his wife. I’ll email you the poster so you can see the painting. Such a small world. And believe it or not, out of all the episodes, the crossing Huron one is the one we picked to watch first cause we were hoping to see footage of Manitoulin Island as that is our permanent home for the past 15 years (Silverwater - best sunsets in the world). Low n behold…. there was Terrie’s store! And the channel view. Sooo soo awesome!! So ty!!!

Excellent adventure! I must say I felt a little worried when I saw those waves and dark gray weather ahead on such big water. Great tips on the fog navigation, better safe than sorry, always take the longer safe way. As always, great photography and composition, just perfect. Thanks for putting this video together!
Wonderful getaway from city noise, I appreciated every moment of your trip, as I was raised in Northern Quebec, that reminded me of the Power of Nature and it,s simplicity, which we tend to forget while living in cities, I must also say, you two are a beautiful team, making this adventure a pleasant one. Cheers from Montreal, stay safe.
What an epic trip! I envy your youth and enthusiasm and environmental sensitivity, not to mention your great travelling companions. When we were your age we did canoe trips to Quetico and later Killarney and lived in the Yukon for 3 years where we hiked a lot. I took up kayaking some years ago and had the good fortune to do several of this videos sections. French River, Killarney and Philip Edward Island and the Lacloche/ Whalesback Channel. We live in a beautiful part of Ontario. Even though my camping days are likely over I still can do day trips and I can see the LaCloche area from my home. You have such a great future ahead for trips. Thank you!
Hi Carol. Thank you very much for the nice message. It sounds like you have had your share of adventures! Living in the Yukon for three years sounds just about perfect to me. Thanks again for the message and support.
Awesome trip guys and dogs!!! Love your videos. I can see your dogs are used to travelling in a canoe. I'm hoping by next summer I can get a new dog to join my adventurers. Question?? How big is Blue and what breed? Tks
Hi Kathie. Thanks so much. Our dogs are definitely used to being in a canoe 🛶. Betty Lou is a Australian cattle dog. She’s around 45-50lbs. Amazing dog but if you’ve never had a cattle dog before it’s hard to explain how intense these dogs are. They put 110% into everything and have seemingly endless energy. As I said before though she’s an amazing dog. Thanks for watching Kathie and always appreciate your support.
Great trip and great video, thank you for all the extra work to take us along. Just bought some hunting land a couple of hours from huron and superior. Going to make some day trips with the canoe and hopefully one of the kids or my wife
Thats awesome. Its a beautiful area with lots of wildlife for sure. Lots of amazing places to go paddling and crown land camping as well. Thanks very much for watching and hope you enjoy your new property!
Nice filming and great edit. Keep up the videos they are top notch. The few times that I’ve seen bears while canoeing are at the outlet of the old voyager channel as well. I can’t believe how many you guys seen!
We couldn’t believe it either. It almost got comical out there. We kept looking at each other in shock! It was very cool and I don’t expect to ever have another trip with that many bears again but who knows…..
Absolutely insane video. The editing was 10/10 and the quality was amazing! I love the french river delta area/phillip edward island area. I've camped on spots that you camped on which was awesome. Never seen the massive boat at the Mcgregor bay cement plant. 10/10 video. I hope you make another video around the phillip edward island area!
Thank you very much for taking to time to leave a nice comment Kia. Appreciate it very much. We love the Philip Edward area as well. Maybe on of our favourite places to camp and canoe.
What a great trip! The wildlife was amazing. So many bears. What was that bird with the unusual (to me) call? Was it some type of crane? It was beautiful. I know exactly why you do these kind of trips. Ashley described it perfectly. Thanks for another fantastic video. Now, bring on the snow! 😆
Hi Alan. Thanks for the comment. That bird is a Sandhill Crane. Beautiful and huge bird. We seem to be seeing more and more of them now. As sad as it is to see the water freeze up we are looking forward to winter as well. Thanks again!
Sandhill cranes were once used (efforts continue) as surrogate mating pairs in an effort to save the last Whooping cranes left on Earth. There were only 52 Whooping cranes left alive in the 1970s. The surrogate program has presented challenges to U.S. and Canadian scientists but they have managed to increase the population to approximately 800 with the help of nature preserves and conservation efforts. Sandhills are the only species of crane that are not in danger of extinction although the area where Ashley and Keenan are is the Southern most limit for their summer breeding season. A & K are close to where a Whooping crane was found dead, shot by some moron, four years ago.
Hahaha….ya. Betty Lou was excited. So was Hugo. Every time we see a large animal the go nuts. We will be a kilometre away and their noses start twitching. It’s interesting to watch.
@@CanoeTheNorth Hugo seems too laid back to get excited about a large animal. Now, a new place to snooze or a back scratch, that I can see! LOL! Also, what a PIG of a smallie! Must have been on heck of a fight!
St. Kitts here again. Great vid guys. Loved it the first time I watched it a few weeks ago. Anyway it's 5am now, and I was wondering " what did you do to piss off that Momma Bear so bad " that she stalked you for so many days ! LOL
Its a beautiful shoreline around that area isn't it! And ya.....I hear you about staying dry. I think we had rain almost every day of that trip but it was worth it in the end. Thanks Bruce.
Biggest bass I’ve ever caught that’s for sure. I was using the smallest spoon in my tackle box and I cannot believe I landed that one. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Hope you and your pup had a great paddling season! Thanks Jay.
Many Ontarians like myself do not connect Georgian Bay with Lake Huron. I grew up going to the cottage near Honey Harbour never thinking our waters were in fact part of Lake Huron. So many memories in Southern Georgian Bay in the 30 thousand Islands region.
Hi Jim. Thanks for the comment. Totally agree with you. Georgian bay is like it’s own lake isn’t it. Love Georgian bay with all the smooth islands! Awesome place.

Thats awesome. Its a beautiful area with lots of wildlife for sure. Lots of amazing places to go paddling and crown land camping as well. Thanks very much for watching and hope you enjoy your new property!
I grew up on the Michigan side of Huron. I think I got the short end of the stick. It was still great.
I’m sure both sides are just as beautiful. Thanks for watching. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
Amazing. I visited port Austin in the fall 2019. Strong wind and heavy rain. Lake Huron was like an ocean, angry waves... lol..
Thanks TL. Yes Lake Huron can certainly seem like an ocean at times. It is such a huge body of water. One of our favourite places to paddle.
@@CanoeTheNorth Thanks for this warm reply and uploading so many great videos. Have a good one. :)
Maybe on of our favourite places to camp and canoe.
awesome work thank you
You are very welcome. Glad that you enjoyed the video!
Fantastic journey and beautiful scenery!
Appreciate it very much Nature lover. Huron is an amazing lake! Thanks for watching.

Just discovered this channel...good stuff!
Awesome John. Glad you found us and appreciate the support.
very nice!
Thanks James
Now thats a adventure, so cool in the fog and all the wildlife.. so well done to you both…
Thanks so much Jim. It was an awesome trip filled with some very cool moments! Appreciate you taking the time to leave a nice comment Jim.
Another enjoyable video. Glad the pups were invited. Sounded like Betty Lou was getting excited by the moose!
Well Done guys great video of the most amazing spot
Thanks so much. It is an amazing area isn't it. Cant believe there's not more people there.
Fantastic camera work and editing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! You are more than welcome. Appreciate the comment.
St. Kitts here again. Great vid guys. Loved it the first time I watched it a few weeks ago. Anyway it's 5am now, and I was wondering " what did you do to piss off that Momma Bear so bad " that she stalked you for so many days ! LOL
Haha 😂. We were wondering the same thing!!! Thanks Brien and we are glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks guys. I had a really nice trip. I saw some familiar places, like Killarney, and some very nice scenery. And I stayed dry!
Its a beautiful shoreline around that area isn't it! And ya.....I hear you about staying dry. I think we had rain almost every day of that trip but it was worth it in the end. Thanks Bruce.
Wow! 7lb bass...Tough weather to start but you two handled it well. Another awesome trip! Betty passed out on the food barrels LOL
Great trip, beautifully captured.
Thank you! 🙏
This is so so good. How do you guys not have 10x the subscribers you do?! Keep up the great work. Can’t wait to re-watch this in the dead of winter when I’m itching for a canoe trip.
Haha.....thanks Max. We are trying hard and I honestly feel like it's just been in the past couple videos that we have found our groove. It seems hard as a small channel to get subscribers but we are just focusing on making the best quality content we can and with a little luck the rest may follow. We are just happy to have a bunch of people who always seem to support the channel and thats all we can ask for. Appreciate your support more than you know and we hope to be able to share few more canoe tripping videos to help you get through the long winter!
My sister and I are faithful watchers; beautiful filming, brilliant editing and as a graphic designer at Boeing for 22 yrs, I can say your graphics are crisp, clean, contemporary, and very professional. I've watched every video. Hey, I'm Irish too, Kathleen Duffy. Ancestors are from the city of Cork in County Cork.
