Hit by a car? How do you deal with insurance?

Having been hit twice now by at-fault drivers, I've had the pleasure of dealing with insurance companies a few times. Here are some tips to help you navigate the process.

funny i just found this channel, but i was recently hit in my neighborhood, less than mile away from home. this was helpful.
my issue was nothing was damaged but superficial damage. still pisses me off when a pain job on the bike was 1500.

What happened in TX? I live in DFW and I just bought my first bike as an adult, Cannondale Quick CX-4. I’m excited to ride this but people drive crazily here. lol.
