Help me help you...master music production
My biggest takeaway: crazy how one hook transformed the song into a worldwide hit! Remember that.
Big thanks to Dcup, now Rumbleman!
This one was awesome . Stupidly inspiring
I loved those Sound Pellegrino tunes that were all on this same vein. Renaissance man was dope af too
My biggest takeaway was that some musicians can have really bland, empty demos that a child could make, but just happen to know big producers and therefore get to have a hit :/ Producers should get artist credit on everything imo.
My man introduced Electro Swing to mainstream, great job!
i always heard this track everywhere when i was a child and i never thought about who made it so woah, this is cool
One of the issues with sampling is how the importance of the ear is overlooked. "Real musicians" think it's just grabbing a bunch of records and mindlessly ripping them but every stage of the process is about identifying the potential of small parts of the original recordings and manipulating those chunks and being creative to make something new and fresh. This process should never be underestimated. It might seem effortless but it's the same skillset that John Lennon used when he selected some articles from the Daily Mail and with a throwaway segment from Paul McCartney and some production from George Martin created A Day In The Life.
Well put! Sampling and choosing what and how to process that sample are SKILLS!
Real musicians think that because there used to be scores written which real musicians interpreted and recorded. Say what you want about sample skills, but you are feeding of the talent of others. If you want respect from "real musicians", write your own music for people to play, sing or rap, then do whatever you want with it.
@@eyvindjr I'm sorry, but that is just your negative opinion. I can't think of why anyone would nurture this idea, unless they feel somewhat jaded/disempowered by the talents of others. If that's the case, it is up to you to make peace with that idea. Otherwise you're preaching a subjective belief that's counterintuitive to creativity, and as a creator, that is a horrible way to be...
@@sonnywinnebago753 The topic was "respect from real musicians", which I don't think the people doing the sampling cares about at all, and neither would I if I sample something. Commercial success or respect from other people working with samples is somthing entirely different. What I miss in this is why even top artists resort to old recordings instead of hiring musicians to do unique samples for them.
@@eyvindjr Fair.
I love the "let the world be the judge" part of this. It's so true. I put out 30 songs this year so far in the 1 song a week experiment and I still have people telling me I'm putting out too much music. Who cares just let the world have it and make the next song. Hi Sol State!
Hey Kaotonix! Good highlight, thanks for sharing!
I saw Doja Cat say “u create your own stage , the audience is waiting “ that’s so very true
@@bongopro4401 I loved this !
Thats too much music
whoever says you are putting out too much music is 100% projecting their own insecurity / harddrive full of 1/4th finished songs onto you. fuck. them.
I think the impact of this song is so freaking insane. I can remember being in junior high and realizing the value of saying "F it." I think We No Speak Americano may be one of the most impactful tracks on my life as a producer and over the last year I've really come to look up to Yolanda as well as DCUP. Seeing Yolanda next week as well so I'm super juiced :) Thanks so much for an awesome video! Definitely love the emphasis on finding a vibe and running with it!

this video came out exactly after I was thinking about the original song. funny
Bless thy UA-cam gods
Did he mentioned that he put out the song before clearing the sample? I’m interested in learning more about this process. I remix songs and that’s one thing that holds me back from putting it out.
Yes thats correct. My understanding is that even Diplo has trouble clearing samples, so I think a lot depends on the other party.
ayo this a mad late reply but honestly i would just put the tracks out and deal with it once a label comes after you, no label will chase you if the tracks aren't making large amounts of $$$
Legit I was always baffled by this track. It's like a meme song, without the meme. I heard it and I'm like this is a silly song. But then it like, got big? Like why? Wtf haha
Im going crazy trying to find the song at 6:14 ... Would be veery glad if anyone could tell me the name of this remix!
It's on Spotify, the 10th anniversary remix of "We No"
@@SolStateMusic Lovely, thanks so much ❤️
